The camo masking has worked a treat. I'm also in the habit of adding Klear coats between colours for the same reasons, although I still find you have to be careful handling the model on leading and trailing edges, as no matter how much protection you provide the paint is still inclined to wear off.

Thanks for all the comments :thumb:
I changed the green/black interior slightly as the instructions weren't particularly clear where the green ends and the black begins.
One last look before it's closed up forever:

All went together very well, I left rubber bands around the fuselage and left it to seal overnight.
The wings went on the next day, they'll be left overnight too:

There's nothing quite like the old green and brown

Basically, for any late war Lanc, any bit that might be exposed to searchlight glare would be painted black. The rest would be interior green-grey.

A bit of a jump in progress, my apologies as I've just been getting on with it and not pausing to take pictures:

Some bits on the workbench drying out, that's the spinners at the top:

The bomb had a couple of coats of Hu30 green then covered in Klear before attaching the decals. The propellers got Rv09 anthracite mixed with a couple of drops of black and the spinners are Hu85 satin black, just to give a bit of contrast.
Some areas of the camo need a respray and I completely missed the top turret "cover", but apart from that all going smoothly.
I intend to mask off the clear parts for the paint rather than my usual method of decal strips.

Thanks for looking in :thumb:

Props now on, front and rear turrets, canopy and pilot dry fitted.
I chickened out the masking, I used "walk lines" left over from other kits for the turret framing.
Not the greatest photos but here they are anyway:

The canopy framing should get started tomorrow.

I really want to get this completed in time for this week's anniversary.
Nearly all the decals are on, unfortunately some silvering (my fault) which I tried to rectify only to create an awful mess on the wings as the Klear pooled.
After much clearing up:

Still plugging away...both turrets are now in and the underside decals on.
The pilot's chair needs moving/surgery as the canopy won't fit properly.

I'm hoping the final overcoat of Matt Clear (02) will cure some of the silvering.

Pretty much done.
I still need to go over the whole with 02 Clear (the wings have been done) plus some of the smaller bits are waiting to go on.
The canopy took forever, although to be honest I kept picking it up, looking at it and putting it down, the actual work probably took only a couple of hours. :wall:
My work on the decals isn't the greatest and some tidying up is needed too, but the finish line is now in sight! :thumb:

Unfortunately I put all the little bits "safe" and didn't find them again until yesterday.
Anyway, as the finished kit will be on display in the lounge, I decided that most of the parts will probably get broken off and lost so I'll put them "safe" again until she goes into my display.
Can't do anything about that decal silvering except put it down to a lesson learned.:(

As I've said in the galley, a great build. Didn't notice the silvered decals, when that happens to me I get either a pin or sharpe scalpel and puncture the decal several times on the silvered portion then brush Revell Decalsoft on it, this can then get under the decal and displace the air that's trapped. It then softens the decal and draws it down onto the plastic as it dries.
