Airfix 1:24 North American P-51D Mustang (A14001A) 1Lt Spurgeon Ellington, “Tuskegee Airmen”, 100th Fighter Squadron, 332nd Fighter Group, Ramitelli, Italy, December 1944. Continuing my efforts to make the full set of Airfix 1:24 Aircraft releases here is my attempt at the big pony, this being the 2012 of the 1972 original. Not what I would either call a nice kit, or my best finish but I enjoyed the journey none the less. It’s now on the shelf with my Spitfire and 109, just pulled the Hurricane out to start next. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bush painted, mainly with Revell Aquacolor but also some Humbrol enamels and acrylics and Mustang given a coat of Flory dark dirt wash, the aerial wire is EZLine inserted after drilling a hole in the canopy. |
