So here is my completed 32nd scale Tomcat in lo-viz markings of VF-84 Jolly Rogers.          Its not perfect by any means and there are still one or two things needing done. A big thank you and congratulations to all who participated in the GB, my effort is still ongoing but is now making progress since I was able to afford some white paint. As with all RevellAtions GB, even though this thread will move into GB archive shortly, you can pick up and continue to work on your models, or even start a new one within the rules of the build if you want to. Options for a new theme will be up shortly. |

Revell 1:48 Grumman A-6E Intruder (04578) 154170 VA-196(The Milestones/Main Battery) U.S.S.Coral Sea, May 1981  The Revell (Ex Monogram) Grumman A-6E Intruder built up OOB and finished using brush painted Revell Aquacolor apart from the white which is Halfords appliance white rattle can. Given it’s vintage, raised details were order of the day which I left and made up old school. The only issues I had were as a consequence of a little ambiguity in the instructions regarding the fit of the I/P cover and the arrestor hook, boyj of which needed a little remedial work to fettle. The decals settled down good but are a little more opaque than they really should be. Overall quite happy with the result even if I have left it “clean”.       |

Very nice and clean Intruder. Raised details are OK and I still can not understand how is possible to make such a nice finish with brush.
