For my first build I'll be flexing some American muscle in the shape of a Dodge Viper GTS.

Built this before. It's a great kit. What color is it going to be?

What color is it going to be?

Johnny, I'll be painting it blue with white stripes as per the box art.

First up I gave the underside a coat of semi gloss black and fitted the wheels.

After that the drivetrain was assembled and painted. The instructions call out for aluminium for the engine and gearbox but I decided to break it up a bit and gave the gearbox a cat of Tamiya Metallic Grey.

You can see how much room is taken up by the engine/gearbox here.

Finally for this update the rear springs have been fitted to the rear arches and painted. The springs were picked out with steel Revell paint.

I haven't updated this in a while but there has been some progress. The kit instructions quote shades of grey (but not 50 :D ) for the interior but looking online I saw one with a black interior with blue inserts so as mine will be blue I thought I'd go with that instead. The blue is Revell 52 with matt varnish.

I've also sprayed a couple of coats of Tamiya TS50 Mica Blue on the body.

The Viper ha s been given another coat of Mica blue to make sure all the panels are the same shade.

After a couple of days I painted the engine bay satin black, along with the interior of the front panel and bonnet. I also did the black trim around the windows.

Finally for this update I finished the dashboard using a combination of the kit decals and a silver pen. .

Thanks for the comments guys.

After fitting the lights it was time for the decals which went on without too much trouble apart from the rear one which had a few curves to get round. It doesn't look too bad though.

It didn't take long to put the various sub assemblies together and get it finished.
