TIE FIGHTER

The TIE fighter was the unforgettable symbol of the Imperial fleet. Carried aboard Star Destroyers and battle stations, TIE fighters were single-pilot vehicles designed for fast-paced dogfights with Rebel X-wings and other starfighters. The iconic TIE fighter led to other models in the TIE family including the dagger-shaped TIE Interceptor and the explosive-laden TIE bomber. The terrifying roar of a TIE's engines would strike fear into the hearts of all enemies of the Empire.

For the 40th Anniversary of the release of the original Star Wars, A New Hope edpisode IV, Revell are releasing kits from that film. What we have with this release is the iconic TIE fighter flown by the Empire against the Rebellion X-wings.

These releases also come with a replica billboard poster which is just under A3 in size.

Kit contents have a fairly low part count but are well moulded with some lovely detail and will look very convincing when painted and weathered.

The pilot figure looks decent and should look good once painted.

The small but well printed decal sheet.

Conclusion.

This really is a lovely kit which has been well moulded and has enough detail to keep the most avid Star Wars fan happy. In fact I am that impressed with it that I am sorely tempted to clear my work bench and build this now.

Highly recommended.

Many thanks to Revell for the review sample.

Looks good Steve, having the frame and the sails separate will save a lot of masking.

I've already got a 1/72 Bandai TIE, otherwise I'd be up for one of these. Might get one regardless.
