This is the second release of the Revell new mould FW190, the first one having been released last year and reviewed here.

http://s13.zetaboards.com/RevellAtions/topic/7385263/1/#new

Some thought it a bit odd that they should release the fighter-bomber F as the first one so they should be a bit happier that they have now released the late war Anton and have included parts for a night fighter variant. To do this all they have done is left out the sprues from the F containing the bombs and included new sprues with the antenna for the R-11. WWII Luftwaffe had a series of field conversion kits (called Rüstsatz. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/R%C3%BCstsatz ) to allow the ground crew to alter the mission package of their fighter. The R-11 being the antenna package.

Rather than show you all the sprues in the box I'll refer you to the previous review above and show the new ones.

Instruction error.

Having read the instructions a few times I came across a mistake regarding one of the parts for the R-11 night fighter variant.

As you can see here in steps two and four you are shown to open up a hole on the wing leading edge.

Unfortunately that is it as far as that is concerned as there is no further mention of it in the instructions. However, what you are supposed to put in there is transparency part 108 which are landing lights. And if you look back at the parts map you will see that they have even blacked it out as unused.

I have emailed Revell to point this out although I am unsure as to what they would be able to do about it.

Conclusion.

Instruction mistake aside this is still by far the finest FW190 kit in any scale and one that I would think would be very hard to beat for quality and price. Yes I sure ZM could do an all singing all dancing 190 but at probably around four times the price. The only thing I would change would be etch seat belts instead of the decals supplied in the kit.

Highly recommended.

Many thanks to Revell for the review sample.

Very nice kit. Thanks for the review. I'm always curious about the stand they use in the pictures. Is that a revell product? Is the plane set up to be used on a stand?

Money well spent Boris. :thumb:
Hopefully they will release an early Anton. Either an A-6 or better still an A-4/A-5 pre-wingfillet.

Hello,

Yes the A-6 would be perfect for Hajjo Herrmanns Green 1 an early Nightfighter, now I'm working on their nice Me262B-1a/U-1 lot of nice and cheap 1/32 aircraft models from Revell.

Cheers

Picture links restored.

Phil Flory made a series of video builds on this kit over on Flory models throwing a lot of after market stuff at it, and very nice it is too.
