Background

A model replica of the Eurofighter Typhoon. In 2015 on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and in honour of Flt. Lt. James Nicholson the multi-purpose fighter aircraft was adorned with the Royal Air Force camouflage colours carried during WWII.

Affectionately known as GINA many onlookers have been dazzled by her displays including me

The Kit

Posted Image

This is a re-pop of Revell's 2016 release and is basically a scaled down version of there 1/48 and 1/32 kits (both of which are a joy to build). Its nice to see Revell have listened to modelers and changed that style of their boxes!

The Plastic

there are 2 clear sprues comprising of the canopy and IP, the rest is of a light grey colour and is crisp, with very little flash for a re-pop

Decals

The decals are printed in Italy and are in perfect register and sharp color definition. However in comparing there to the real GINA, i dont think some of the stencils and walkway lines are appropriate, so id advise the modeler to check references for themselves, there are millions of photos out there

Instructions

The instructions are in full colour and detail the construction of the kit through 37 stages

1 scheme included - GINA!!

- Eurofighter Typhoon FGR.4, No 29(R) Squadron, Royal Air Force, Conongsby, England, April 2016

Colour callouts are in Revell colours only of which two will require mixing.

Conclusions

This is a re-pop of a very nice looking kit and a very appropriate scheme for the 100th Anniversary of the RAF. There are plenty of spare weapons in the kit if you choose AM decals to build a war bird.
I have never built the typhoon in this scale, however have built 5 in 1/48 and 3 in 1/32 so know a little about them, from what i see this is very similar to the 1/48 in part make up and i dont envisage any problems, to that extent its on the bench next!!!

Id recomend this kit to anyone with a steady hand and patience

Revell model kits are available from all good toy and model retailers.
