if we type rovvrem in google then we are top of the list but nowhere to be found if we type in rotherham forum. is there anyway of making google recognise us by rotherham forum? |

They way to do this would be to register a domain name including the word Rotherham. the main ones have been taken.. rotherham.co.uk rotherhamforum.co.uk rotherhamforums.co.uk rotherhamchat.co.uk have all gone. The other problem is the quietness of the forums, I have found a domain name that includes rotherham that is available and although it is only a few quid I don't know whether its worth spending anything on the forums whilst it is getting such little use. |

hmmmm i see what ya saying Slim. ide go halfs with ya if ya fancy. I dont know which way would be best tho a/ wait until it gets abit busier or b/ go for it to ensure it gets abit busier. im sure i only found the old roth forum cos ide been on sf and thort ooo i wonder seen as sheff has got one has rotherham. probly be quiet at any rate soon with it been nearly 6 week hols, either the kids will nik peoples pooters or they will be takin the kids out and about. |

The cost is not the problem, its only about £6 for 2 years. If we got to half the posts we where getting when the site was at its best (and I don't mean the times when the posts went through the roof but it was all arguments) I would not think twice about getting the extra domain name. Already pay for rovvrem.co.uk and the shoutbox. rovvrem.co.uk is safe as long as the forums are here and would probably try to find another use for it if the forums where to close. As for the shoutbox I think this will close when it comes up for renewal unless it starting seeing some use. Does anybody else have any idea's to make the forums more active. Whether this is advertising or changing to the forums that may encourage more usage. please post them... |

Update: the rovvrem.co.uk domain has been renewed for a further 2 years. A new domain has been purchased and submitted to google (it could take a couple of months for it to appear on google) The new domain is... www.rotherham-forums.co.uk ps. The syfuel.co.uk domain is up for renewal but has I no longer have a use for it I will allow it to expire unless anybody else has a use for it. It will cost £6.79 for the next 2 years so if you have a use for it let me know. |

shame syfuel was a usful site but im not driving as much at the mo but i used to use it alot to beat the big companys and i think it worked to a degree to help keep sy prices down |

I liked the idea myself but in the end I was having to drive round to get the prices or there would have been only a few filled in. Alternative is to use PETROL PRICES . COM. They get their info from the "Fuel Account Card" companies so their info is usually only a day out at the most. You can either visit the site or have the details emailed to you on a daily or weekly basis. You do the search something along the lines of "Within 5 miles of Rotherham" and it returns the cheapest 5. Just noticed that they have sent todays email so this is the example.... Hi Dave, This is your petrol prices update from www.petrolprices.com.
