Well ........

I will start by saying that last time we were humiliated at home by Leinster we did go and win the following week in the Aviva causing a huge upset. We were not in such a state then though but anything is possible in sport so its not completely hopeless.

I have no idea who will be fit and available for this but IMO we need to front up in the scrum so put our biggest meanest set of forwards out that we can or we will likely be on the back foot and hand out 3 points all night long.

Secondly we need to find some way of breaking through. As i said, i have no idea who is fit but we need some class somewhere in the backs. I would like any of JJ/Hutch/Mallinder at 12, if none of them are fit then perhaps Olver and Myler at 10/12 ? 13 has to be George Pisi if fit. We dont really have any other options i think. Do we have any fit wingers left? Ken will take one spot i hope no idea about the other. Is Collins fit? if so its him and Ace for the other Wing and 15. Prefereably Tom at 15 as Ace has played more wing recently.

I will take a LBP and not looking out classed. Sad i know but we need to be realistic.

Will take a lot of convincing to watch it. perhaps after the team is up i will get motivated again :-)

If we were to win.......................and castres were to win......................our group is wide open. we were embarrassed by Leinster before and then beat them away. however lighting does not strike twice, we will probably lose by alot.

would like to see a hail mary line up, rest/drop some of our regulars. is clark back? think brookes is still banned.

a waller, hayward, Hill, Lawes Api, Harrison Wood Louis, Groom, JJ, Elliot/Ace/Packman, Hutch, Pisi, Pisi, Collins

e waller, clare, denman, paterson, gibson, anyone but kessell, olver, ace/packman

I would watch that.

Problem with "anyone but kessell" is thats Dickson, who IMO is worse ATM.

Who Knows what Jim will do. Probably go back to Dickson, Myler, Luther, George P. :-(

Is JJ fit? Limped off with an ankle injury didn't he?

Big front five.
Mobile, competitive back row.
Anyone fit in the backs.

Havernt heard anything on JJ regarding fitness but I doubt he'll play lex and pisi will start.

I really can't get myself motivated for this. Yes theres a very slim chance we can qualify but realisticly this is a training run now.
Wibble disagree re kessell vs dickson. Dicko is still the better 9 for me.

Perhaps as this is looking like a lost cause now (regrettably, as predicted by me on this very website before game 1), perhaps Jim could present Snr Estelles so we could all get to see whatever it is Jim doesn't like, yet Argentina do.

Would be interesting to know why Estelles is not playing...

Still you'd think good enough for Argentina, good enough for us.

If he's on the wing its not like he's going to be involvrd in many fliwing moves at the moment. As long as he can chasr and catch give him a pop I say.

He played a couple games at 12 in the wandies, think they see him as a 13, though was on the wing in pre season.

I literally think the only reason he was called up for argentina was cause he was already in the uk, he did ok to be fair to him, im not sure hes going to be any answer though.

He's a 7s specialist so must have gas and step etc.
I'd give him a go either on wing or at 13.
But surely he can learn the game easier and with less risk on the wing and then move to 13 if that's where his future is?

Love it Elma. You have to smile or cry. This guy is an international wing so we play him at 12 because we think his best position is 13!
And while we are at it where is the other centre Tuitavake? He was good enough for the Crusaders and junior AB's

Frustrating isn't it? It isn't as if Tuitavake and Estelles arrived earlier this week. I would like to see some fresh faces to shake things up a bit. We are out of Europe so this should be an opportunity to try something different. But I predict more of the same, lots of effort and strong defence, and the backs failing to impress.

As much as i would like to see Estelles i also wanted to see Hutch, Mallinder and JJ at 12 and It was good to see Elliott back on the wing. That said, our choices at 13 have been a bit uninspiring but i guess we all asked to try Luther there so shouldnt complain....

Now is the time to try them out though. What we are doing is not working so try something new.

Don't know whot forum to put this on but esteemed Mr Delalio said that Dylan who he obviously dislikes immensely should be a role model. As a former, alledged disgraced, England captain this is good, he did some well reported interviews t that cost this blameless man the captaincy
GLASS HOUSES.

10 Stephen Myler
9 Nic Groom
1 Ethan Waller
2 Charlie Clare
3 Kieran Brookes

16 James Fish
17 Alex Waller
18 Paul HIll
19 Michael Paterson
20 Ben Nutley
21 Tom Kessell
22 Rory Hutchinson
23 James Wilson
really interesting selection, shows to me that quite rightly we are focusing on the league now. giving some players rest/a kick up the bum/allowing players to regain form and develop the 10/12 partnership.

George Pisi as captain is an interesting one.

would like to see the players selected play with a real desire to prove themselves and make things right.

Not sure it's as long as you think. It's his league run that is incredible.
I think Ma'Afu has started some Euro games. Might be wrong though...

Re the selection, very interesting. I don't think it's focusing on the league directly, I think it's picking a team that can "win" but without risking any players. So resting players who have put in a shift (Alex, Mikey and Fodes) and those fatigued by the internationals (KL was clearly off his game last time out) but also not risking any niggles. Definitely an eye on the league and re-prioritising. And also a kick maybe.

Looking at the team, it excites me a bit, so I'll predict my usual BP win.

Sure, I'll go for a BP win too. Why not? Its that time of year after all ;-)

The team looks interesting. Thats a very dynamic pack. I get the feeling we will take it to them at the breakdown and tackle them all day long. The backs ... well who knows. Lots of skill and plenty of passion. Asking a lot for it to click first time but if we dont know what to expect then Leinster will have no chance ;-)

Well there are some 'interesting' selections and / or omissions for Saturday... fall-out from recent weeks or just focussing on the Premiership now?
Heading for Dublin for the weekend with mixed feelings. Hoping for a positive performance and just a little of the 'black stuff'!

Christians to the slaughter try the unregular picks in a hard away fixture shuts people up.Nice to see the backs with the same failures. Esteles must be injured or dead like the rest of our panic sighnings
Imformation on injuries etc on Northampton websight nil as usual.

Eastern, I think it's a combination of fall out, looking to the prem but also putting out a team that if it clicks, could get a result. Let's be honest, it's a decent pack and decent backs, just some untried combinations.

A Waller rested for E Waller, but rumour is E Waller is better.
Mikey rested, this is an area of real weakness IMO.
Brookes in, which is a better pick then Hill.
We're a bit weak in the second row (experience) wise.
But it's a decent back row.

9 and 10 are first choice.
JJ was good last week and G Pisi is our best 13.
Collins is always exciting.
Fodes out but Ace is solid at the back.

Enjoy Dublin and you might just be pleasantly surprised by the performance, if not the result.

As this competition is nowt but a distraction, I think it is a case of just trying to enjoy it, which is exactly what I shall try to do.
