Well last week was quite good. We looked good everywhere outside of the scrum. Defense was a bit open but we looked threatening at times.

This week however i see nothing but a loss on the cards. They will have a massive scrum again and we will struggle to cope with that. I think its fair to say a LBP will be a good result but i live in hope.

I expect a similar team to last week, perhaps we will try and start JJ but i doubt it. He is probably off and Jim usually ignores players at that point.

We need to try and maintain momentum so as strong as side as we can without risking anyone with a niggle.
Montpelier will be up for this as they can theoretically still qualify!
Forget to mention, I agree, can't see us getting anything from this... In fact I expect us to struggle...

It's a bit of a dammed if you do dammed if you don't for me. I expect a strong team to travel but they will field their strongest side and I don't expect anything from the game. The lads will be in fo ra tough night I think.

I have no issue with doing this tbh it'seems a dead rubber and we may just do a Sale and nearly pull off an upset. But for a terrible yellow I beleive they may have done. May we have better fortune. COYS

Or another Leinster-style thrashing could set back club morale again?

They are all good players, but i do worry about making so many changes. It does not teach you much about how some players will fit in to a normal team selection. I would have liked to have seen 3-4 changes, not 10.

Still they are our boys and many of these will be fighting for a first team spot so i expect them to try hard. I still expect a loss but sometimes you just dont know.

I agree with the selection and would go virtually same again v Leicester (bring packman and collins in for north and ace, then bring ludlem in for T), then bring the best we have available back for scarlets.

I'm with Mac bar a couple of exceptions this team is very close to what will be available during the 6 nations so to me it makes some sense to get them playing together as soon as possible. as this is a dead rubber lets see how they go and hope they can do us proud.

Your right though Jim does seem to choose an all or nothing approach to selection at times and it is very frustrating.

Not a lot to add really, other than, I wish I could watch it so see how some of the players go.
But sadly, I cannot...

reason i like this is we really need to give others a chance to step up, our "run" has been built on the back of Lawes Wood harrision etc without the england boys we look very poor. we need to sort this sooner rather then later.

I enjoyed that. A lot of positives... Defence was poor in places. But mostly good. T was awesome

Agreed Wibble, not bad at all. That was enjoyable to watch, which is more than I can say for a lot of the games this season. The backs looked genuinely exciting, and pulled off some very intricate moves and supported each other well. Defence fluctuated between outstanding and poor - backs to the wall at the try line the former, first up tackles more the latter. Not a perfect performance, but with a weaker team that was very good in my opinion. We should have scored through North, which would have changed the dynamic of the game but still think we'd have come off second best. If he wasn't before, Harrison must seriously be pencilled in for that England shirt - I can't remember the last time I saw someone so blatantly put their hand up for selection with a single performance. One final point - Nadolo was absolutely unplayable. Nothing you can do when someone of his ability is on that kind of form.

Only managed to catch a couple of glimpses of the game, one of which was the disallowed try. Where did that move come from and why hasn't there been more of that this season??!! If that's a sign of what the backs can achieve then things don't look so bad after all. Again, from what little I saw T put in another good performance.

Very good performance against the odds. Forwards played well and more than held their own in the scrum against a monster pack. T was outstanding. JJ and Dicko played well. Some good imaginative play from the backs that we haven't seen for two years. Spells of poor tackling let us down. But credit to the lads for a positive and brave performance.

Can't disagree with any of that. The disallowed try was a turning point had we got that then who knows how montpellier would have responded thought that one of their trys (4th I think) came from an in touch pass but hey-ho I also thought that Ace wasn't in touch when he passed so what do I know.

I have to agree about nodolo, his offload for their 1st try was beautiful, and he would have put lomu (r.i.p) to shame with his 1st try bouncing players off although our defence did look terrified of tackling him.

Though everyone played well in the main, some poor defence at times in the backs Ace cought my eye with some good footwork and hands and JJ showed his potential at 10, I hope we continue with him for the LV matches.. Hope the lads take confidence from that performance they should do.

Agree with what's been said, thought we were unlucky.

T was amazing

Nutley looked ok

Waller was great, so frustrating!!!!

Tuavaka make Luther look like a defensive Jedi. He's no good.

Thought dicko was good

He'said saying that our defence was bad and it was. But not all tuavakis fault. Young Harry and Ace were also very bad.

Seems like a good performance, and bar some decisions we may have got more out of the game.
Well done Saints.
As has been said, let's keep JJ etc. in for LV.

Elma I'm with you looked soft in defensive middle relied on the forwards to do most of the defence.A bit unsure where there huge pack comments come from, we weighed more than them.
Like Harry but he has to learn to tackle you cant have a non tackling centre, good to look at the other centre then wonder why we signed him.
Overall enjoyed the performance we looked sharp when we backed ourselves Dicko looked good can nutters have to good games in arrow and learn to catch on the run.

I've watched the Nadholo try a couple of times now and its embarrasing, looks like lame WWE with a ball. Going high and half hearted is going to get you nowhere.

When it comes to tackling Harry still looks like a boy in a mans game.

Dead rubber, but no excuses.

Definitely for me harry is week I defence, has to improve.

However tuavake missed alot of tackles, about in a five minute spell at one point. No idea why we've signed him.not tackles that even Luther would have missed

Its funny, because most of the rest of the players seemed to be tackling round the legs and it was working well all day long. Just a couple of times they seemed to forget how to tackle and were made to look foolish.

I dont mind Harry making mistakes. He is young, let him learn... its a bit of a catch 22, If you are perceived as a weak tackler you will be targeted and be made to tackle more often. We need to look at percentages not occurrences. Its one aspect of the game you can be taught quite easily.

Very true and he's a big lump, so should he more than doing his bit for the side.

On a more positive note I thought the overall performance was pretty good and we showed some invention in attack.

Quite right and I don't want to single anyone out Wibble. Harry will improve his tackling as he gains more experience.

anyway for those that haven't seen the match

Full match on youtube here.
