Hope someone's been racking up the air miles to sign some very good replacements. Would also like to see the club announce those we have re-signed for next season.

JJ has been hit and miss and much of the hype never materialised, good luck to him hope it works out for him back in Munster.

I'm not sure we used his talent very well. He never really got a run of games in the first team when Jim played safe with Myler and his solid kicking. Can't blame him really. Feels like another fly half we've not got the best from.

This isn't a shock, but I am disheartened by the seemingly one way traffic, it would be refreshing to have some news of inbound players.

Not a shock as well rumoured.
First thing Saints need to decide is how long has Myler got left in him.
Depending on that, will decide if we need to get a proven 10 or if we can take a risk on another potential.
Either way, Saints must have known this was happening and an announcement soon would be good.

By far a better player then mylers other challengers, however his time coincided with a drastic decline in the clubs form causing him to stick with smyler.

Some announcements would be nice definitely

Think we will see announcements of more leavers 1st. To quote the start wars films. "I have a bad feeling about this".

Agree Mac, from what little we saw, definitely a contender for a long-term replacement.
It's not just the decline in club form but also he's been injured a lot. There's a good chance the club decided not to renew as well due to injury concerns.

Elma, I think the number of announcements and leavers will depend on how much of an overhaul the club wants to go through, when contracts expire and players deemed surplus.

I can't see anyone who has arrived in the last year going.
So that really leaves the likes of academy players who haven't fulfilled potential. And some of the players who have been here a while and are either not performing or who cost too much.
I have no idea which contracts are up at the end of the season so it's hard to speculate but players potentially at risk would be:
Foden, Elliot, Stephenson, Dickson, Dickinson, Patterson, Campese. And any one from the academy.

Sorry to see him go but not surprised. A string of injuries hasn't helped his time here, but recent performances have given glimpses of the potential to come.
Think that the opportunity to get International caps is also a big draw to move back - Sexton is getting a lot of injuries and Paddy Jackson is only real cover at 10 for Ireland with Madigan out of the frame in France. Munster playing a kiwi 10 as first choice, so JJ may fancy his chances there.

It was only ever going to be a short term signing IMO. Young Irish players want to play for their country. Who can blame them. To do that they have to play in Ireland (pretty much).

I think Injury was the big issue with JJ. If he was fit on week 1 this season he would probably have started at 10.

Signings are tricky. At this time of year you have to try and work out who you want to keep, who will actually stay, who you want to sign and who will actually come.

If we wanted to keep JJ we probably couldnt go all in on a 10 until he made his decision.

I also think we will see a clearout in the backs. We need to improve 13/14/15 for the future. I like a lot of our players in those positions but as a group they are not delivering. We need to freshen things up and those possitions have our oldest players who we have probably learned all we can about and who, no offence we might have seen the best of. We dont however want to gut the whole team. We need some experiance in the backs so if Foden stayed to be a wise head i would not be upset, but he would need to be keeping standards up to recent levels and not those of earlier in the season.

Don't you think he could have been given his talent when he joined us? Why didn't he progress more?

Long term jnr Grayson. Expect to see him move ahead of Olver next season and push for a bench spot.

Can he kick?
