these look good, the Ford-Robinson is a beast, i reckon that probably the end of hill. Adding some bulk good to see.

Eadie i havent taken too much attention to other then his quick, probably the end of Dickinson and T moving to replace Clark as an out and out 7.

just a 9, 10, 15 needed

They look useful but who knows how they will fit in. Our record is a bit hit and miss on recent signings. Most of the bigger names have worked out but the squad players mostly seem to disappear without a trace.

I am hopeful though.

we have had alot of success when we have signed young English players in the past. these two look exciting and are at the right age. I'm excited about these two.

I'm struggling to get excited but I hope they turn out well and become a success.

Would be a great partner to Groom. 9 would be a position of strength again.

Lets see what happens but i think this year will see big changes. Probably mean a year of rebuilding but better than a year of decline.

Reinach is very quick, if he comes, he would be first choice. I heard we are looking at Colin Slade, no idea if there is any truth in the rumour, but would be another good signing.

Reinach and Slade, would be a tidy half back pairing, nothing tremendously good but very solid. Slade is no doubt alot better then JJ and Reinach is probably better then everything we have now. is that a premiership winning half back combo, not convinced.

Like Flanker I cant say these signings are what I had in mind but hope they work out.
I was rather hoping for a bit of established qualiity rather than the continual roundabout of might be's. With the Academy seems to me like we have enough might be's.
Has anyone got enough fingers to count the number of props who have been signed as might be's and disappeared shortly after

Who was our best prop in recent years? Gary Pagel?

Euan Murray, Tom Smith, Mooj, Soane Tongahuia; we've had a few.

But when the chips were down, would any of them have held a candle to the most legendary behemoth that held the front row together in the pro era at FG? He who was Robbie Morris.

Gary Pagel by a street. If he didnt want to move he didnt.Remember Pagel was the one who handed out model helicopters to opposite numbers because they spent so much time in the air.
His weightlifting in the Saints gym is legendary
The only one who gets anywhere near is Tom Smith and after that Gary Pearce

Talking of Tommy Smith, he must be the only Saint with 100% kicking record. At his testimonial at the final whistle he scored a try under the posts and drop kicked the conversion. I can't believe they let him take another one so that's 100%.

Any one with 21 AB caps is a good signing. I'll take Slade and at 29 he has plenty of years left in him.

Tom smith by far best prop we've gad at the gardens in my time.

We've had some decent ones over the years though. I don't think we're badly equiped with starters, just want a bit more from brooksy.

Hill is just a no, just not big enough. Maybe he could switch across? Tough ask but he's 21 still

Cos we still keep the very best ones and the others move on. Of those that move on, we get good game time from them as backup while they're here then we let them go. I know it's frustrating but we have a very good academy that works very well. Players from the academy still active:
Waller, Mikey, Courtney, Craig, Nutters, Harry, Wee Jimmy, Collins, Stephenson, Hutch. I'm sure there are others.

I'm on Packman is potentially one of the best academy prospect's rate him more the Collins or Elliott. Shame to loose him.

Not really seen enough of Packman to have an opinion, unfortunately he doesnt seem to have the confidence of the coaches, why sign Estelles if he has. With the quality of wings Glos have, will he have anymore opportunity there?

Olver is another one for me who I think would only every be 3rd choice. Nottingham is a good move for him.

I can see Collins going too.

What is the next crop of academy kids coming through like?

Rave reviews about young Grayson who now appears in the player profiles on Offy.
So imagine he is being trusted with backup duties to Myler, as well as having Harry who can cover there.
I am going to put money on the fact we're not replacing JJ.

If Grayson Jnr is as good as we've heard, then why not?
Clearly Smyler is our no. 1 so unless we sign a proper world class 10, then I cannot see anyone else coming in to rotate with him at the moment.

I'd need some convincing that Myler/Grayson is a good enough duo.
