On the beeb that he's retiring at the end of this season.

Robson to retire

I'm sure most on here will not be too sad by this but as a CEO he has done a good job.

He has done a lot of good at the club. Without a good financial footing we might have stayed down on our visits to the championship. We might be having a poor season but we can afford good facilities, good coaches and some great players. the future might not be certain but the increased capacity can help fund the increase of the cap.

Bit of a pantomime villain I think. Easy to demonise for a lot of things but we wouldn't be on as sure a financial footing without him. I just hope whoever comes in is a Saints and/or rugby person first and foremost, as bringing in some finance bod from retail brings the risk that the economic interests of the business take priority over supporters. As long as we don't go down the road of Calsberg Saints PLC playing at the Weetabix Arena I think we'll be okay...

But if we played at the Weetabix Arena surely we'd become unbeatable at home? After all the players will have had their Weetabix...

Sponsor's 2xWeetabix, bowl and spoon on the front of the shirt? Could look very formidable to the opposition when packing down?

I think it would be hard to have any criticism of him. from what ive seen and what hes said, the club goes to the salary cap and has built and outstanding stadium.

imo there probably does need to be a increase in the commercialism of the club without that meaning the fans having to put their hands in their pockets. Robson said in his interview the other day the the issue saints have now in maintaining their profitable status is that the cost of players has gone up dramatically. if im being cynical, which i am, hes retiring now as the work is going to get considerably harder to maintain the profits and doesnt want to be the main to makes the first loss.
Obviously however i think hes done a very good job and wish him the best etc.
