Scott Keller is pleased to announce that Keyantwon Stephens has volunteered to be the CEO of the District of Columbia's signature drive effort to place Scott Keller's name on the ballot for President in 2012. We want to thank Mr. Stephens for his tireless and boundless enthusiam with this grassroots, volunteer campaign to elected Scott Keller for President 2012, and also for him volunteering for this key, important position.

The next step will be to analyze, discuss, plan out, and put into motion the signature ballot drive in DC. Please sign up below when you volunteer, and what area you can cover. The signature ballot drive will also be a Get Out The Vote effort, plus an opportunity to inform voters about Scott Keller. In the templates section will be flyer downloads for your use in this volunteer, grassroots Presidential Campaign.

On behalf of Scott Keller and myself as Campaign Manager, our thanks to Mr. Stephens and to you for all your volunteer efforts. You won't be disappointed one more time.

I discovered the below is only for 2011 election cycle, so 2012 isn't ready to be published on this site. A great site, but ....

Official Name/Status All States
District of Columbia
Status: incorporated TERRITORY
Organized as a Territory: 3 March 1791. Currently coterminous with the City of Washington, the District was originally a square ten miles on each side bifurcated by the Potomac River and consisting of land ceded to the Federal Government by Virginia and Maryland; that portion originally ceded by Virginia (the incorporated City of Alexandria and Alexandria County) was retroceded to that State as of 7 September 1846 (Alexandria County was renamed Arlington County, VA in 1920; Alexandria City became an Independent City of VA). The incorporated Cities of Georgetown and Washington- along with Washington County outside either of these- were considered a single municipal unit per the terms of the District's Territorial Government Act of 21 February 1871 (though the three older remaining Civil Divisions of D.C. continued to function as electoral districts); not until 11 February 1895, however, was the City of Washington officially made coterminous with the District of Columbia (at which point, the older Civil Divisions formally ceased to exist).

Candidates seeking nomination or election to office in the District of Columbia must also comply with requirements of the Office of Campaign Finance, which is administered separately to enforce District laws pertaining to campaign finance, lobbying, conflict of interest and financial disclosure of public officials. For more information, see the Campaign Finance Guide. Telephone inquiries for the Office of Campaign Finance should be directed to 202-671-0547.

General Information

Keyantwon - I am starting to wonder if DC can put a President on the ballot? But I have this:

District of Columbia:
On 27 April 2011, District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray signed B19-90 which was introduced by Councilmember Mary M. Cheh on 1 February 2011. The bill moves the Presidential Primary from "the 2nd Tuesday in January" to the 1st Tuesday in April and moves the regular primary from the "1st Tuesday after the 2nd Monday in September" to the 1st Tuesday in April. The next regular partisan and Presidential primaries will be held concurrently on 3 April 2012

I cannot find it now, but is said only 1,000 signatures needed to place Presidential Candidate on PRIMARY ballot.

FOUND IT, A DIFFERENT SITE, but this is only for PRIMARY

http://www.freeandequalinc.com/2011/02/presidential-primary-ballot-access-chart/ (pay for site)

DC 1,000 signatures 1-1001.05(b)(1) 1,000

What happens after primary if not enough voters for Scott moves him automatically to General?
