Senate District
The Senate District (also called the Legislative District, Government District or Government Center) on Coruscant was located on the planet's equator, and was the de facto capital of Galactic City. The Senate District bordered the Financial and Sah'c Districts, and was in close proximity to the industrial district known as The Works. Many of the buildings in the upper levels of the district were built using the New Architecture style.

The Jedi Temple
The building was a massive structure that stood over a kilometer high above the buildings of Galactic City, Coruscant. Built around an ancient Force nexus located in a natural mountain known as the Sacred Spire, the area surrounding the Temple was a long, broad promenade, the Processional Way, in an area where the Temple was largely unobstructed to sight. From the outside, the Jedi Temple appeared as a high-raised ziggurat building in a stepped design, with five spires built on top, one taller, Temple Spire surrounded by four smaller ones. These spires symbolized a Jedi's climb to enlightenment. Each of the four spires crowned a different quarter of the Temple; each of these quarters were specialized for a variety of different purposes. The First Knowledge quarter was the most important in the training of younglings, while the High Council quarter was the area where many conference and meeting rooms were located. The area around the Reassignment Tower was dedicated to the Public entrance, while the Reconciliation quarter had many gardens and garages.

Courscant
Coruscant was the capital of the Old Republic, the Galactic Empire, the New Republic, the Yuuzhan Vong Empire and the Galactic Alliance at various times. It is generally agreed that Coruscant is the most important world in the galaxy, evidenced by the fact that its hyperspace coordinates are (0,0,0). The galaxy's main trade routes—Rimma Trade Route, Perlemian Trade Route, Hydian Way, Corellian Run and Corellian Trade Spine—go through Coruscant, making it the richest and most influential world in the galaxy.
Coruscant is the latest and best known instance of a popular meme: the idea of a planet which as a galactic capital had been developed into one great city over all of its surface.

Abregado-rae
Abregado-rae was a major manufacturing and trade-oriented planet in the Abregado system in the Core Worlds, sitting at the beginning of the Rimma Trade Route. It was also the beginning of the Shapani Bypass or the "Bacta Run." It had a reputation as one of the Core Worlds' more rough-and-tumble planets. It was home to the infamous Abregado-rae Spaceport. The planet was controlled by an oppressive government which kept the peace and improved the local spaceports at the expense of its citizens. Despite this planet's temperate climate, it was only home to a very limited number of native species. Less than ten species of large animals, including the Gado and Moocher (possibly related to the Atzerrian Meek) were native to this planet. Unlike most of the Core, Abregado-rae was fairly backward, to the point of being compared with worlds in the Outer Rim Territories. The planet's spaceports seemed safe, at least to the untrained eye. In fact, it was a smuggler's paradise, a spaceport where the galaxy's uncounted species could mingle, get into trouble, and head off again to parts unknown. The planet had many popular establishments including the LoBue Cantina, Lost Loves Casino, Njinska's Tavern, Starlight Theater, The Star of Chance, and the Triple Nova Casino. These were located in either Abregado-rae Spaceport or Le Yer, both of which attracted visitors from all parts of the galaxy including Han Solo and Lando Calrissian on occasions. The city Le Yer was a popular coastal resort city, with its extension, Phyrstal Island accessible by Hydrobike or Gados Floatboat. Abregado-rae was also one of the few planets where the rare metal electrum was found. It was known for it to sometimes bubble to the surface in the Gilt Gushers. This mineral could be used for crafting lightsabers with many unique qualities; Darth Sidious and Mace Windu both possessed lightsabers containing electrum.

Kuat
Kuat was located in the Kuat system, in Kuat Sector, in the Core Worlds near the Deep Core. It was a terraformed planet of forests and plains. Kuat was colonized around the time the Galactic Republic was formed. A group of wealthy families, known as the Ten, joined together to create the largest shipbuilding concern in the Galaxy, while terraforming Kuat to serve their needs. The Human Kuati had a matriarchal society. From Kuat, they sent out colony ships of their own. For example, the Kuat Explorer colonized Alsakan in 26,000 BBY.
Kuat was one of the Core Founders. In 23 BBY, local freedom fighters opposed Separatist allies of Count Dooku, but were wiped out by Jango Fett. About that time, Risi Lenoan was elected to serve as Kuat's Senator. In 21 BBY, the Republic increased their defenses of Kuat, and in a counter move, the Confederacy of Independent Systems strengthened their defense at nearby Neimoidia. During the Clone Wars, Lenoan was replaced as Senator by Giddean Danu, who signed the Petition of 2000. Danu's conservative, pro-Jedi principles were not popular with Kuati aristocrats, who twice failed to remove him from office.
During Imperial control, Kuat could only be accessed via three ports within the main Kuat Traffic Zone, which was along the Hydian Way; a passenger port, a freight port, and a Imperial transfer port.
Accessible to the passenger port were the systems of Redrish, Drurish, Ulion, and Kidir. Accessible to the freight port were the systems of Monadin, Renegg, Venir, and Horthav. Information on the Imperial port was classified.

Basilisk
Basilisk was home to the Basiliskans, an intelligent lizard species. They were the creators of the Basilisk War Droids, that were rumored to be modeled after themselves. During their war with the Mandalorians around the year 3,997 BBY, the Basiliskans chemically poisoned their own planet, in a last effort to defeat their conquerors. Despite receiving Jedi/Republic reinforcements under Sidrona Diath at the Battle of Basilisk, the Mandalorians conquered the planet and enslaved the remaining Basiliskans.
After the war, the Mandalorians found a new use for the Basiliskans. With their tough hides and claws (not to mention how easily they could be trained) and their intelligence, the Mandalorians used them as weapons for aerial and ground fighting during later wars. Because of this the Basiliskans degenerated and become nothing more than savage beasts. As such, they were re-named the Lagartoz War Dragons.
The planet was once more fought over during the Clone Wars.

Alderaan
Considered a "Shining Star" of the Core Worlds, wild grasslands and old mountain ranges dominated the planet's surface. Ice-rimmed polar seas were the only large bodies of water, though thousands of freshwater and saltwater lakes provided habitats for a large variety of flora and fauna. Alderaan was also the home-world of some of the galaxy's most famous animals, such as the nerf and the Thranta. Cities of Alderaan were often built with great care taken to protect nature. One city was built on the walls of a canyon, nearly invisible from above. Other cities were built on stilts along the shoreline or under the polar ice. The capital, Aldera, known for its university, was built on a small island in the center of a caldera.

Belkadan
At the edge of the Dalonbian sector sits the planet Belkadan, a world of tall dalloralla trees and small natural bodies of water. Belkadan was the location of the outpost of ExGal-4, established by ExGal President Tobbert Dalonbian. It was home to redcrested cougars.
After the desertion of ExGal-4, the Yuuzhan Vong bioweapon receded and the new Yuuzhan Vong fleet entering the galaxy built a shipyard there. Another nearby sector, Sernpidal, also became a shipyard for the Yuuzhan Vong to rebuild forces lost by Shedao Shai and the Praetorite Vong.

Dorin
Dorin was a dark and dusty planet in the Expansion Region. It was the homeworld of the Kel Dors, with an atmosphere of a unique gas and helium. The planet was situated between two black holes, making access to the planet limited, while space travel for the natives was highly dangerous. Dorin's atmosphere contained very little oxygen, and barely supported life. This atmosphere mix affected the evolution of the Kel Dor, requiring them to wear antiox breath masks to filter out oxygen while offworld. Kel Dor society and industry largely revolved around technology. Although most Kel Dors are regarded as highly altruistic to the welfare of other beings, their justice system was strict and swift to potential criminals and lawbreakers. The planet was home of the Baran Do, a Force cult predating the Jedi.Dorin joined the Galactic Republic in 5,975 BBY, and had direct representation in the Galactic Senate. Because so many Jedi came from Dorin, the Republic funded the construction of an enclave on the planet. The atmosphere limited the regular students to Kel Dor, although many Jedi of other species visited the enclave to learn from the Kel Dor masters. While its isolation allowed the planet to remain unharmed by the Old Sith Wars, nearly all Jedi at the enclave on Dorin were killed by Sith assassins following the Jedi Civil War. Dorin later joined the New Republic, and the Baran Do engaged in contact and exchange with the New Jedi Order. Jedi Master Plo Koon, his uncle, and his niece, Sha Koon, were all from Dorin. Manaan
Manaan was an aquatic planet in the Pyrshak system. It was home to the Selkath, an amphibious species. The planet was completely covered in water and was the only known source of the healing liquid, kolto, in the galaxy.
In the years leading up to and during the Jedi Civil War, kolto was so important to the galaxy that the Selkath were able to use their monopoly to enforce their policy of neutrality and autonomy. The only above-surface settlement on Manaan was the floating Ahto City. During the Jedi Civil War, both the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic attempted to get an upper hand in the war by creating secret deals that would give them more kolto. Ultimately, however, the Selkath banned the Sith from Manaan for trying to overthrow the government.

Onderon
Onderon had four moons. Dxun, the primary moon, once orbited very close to the planet, allowing some animals to fly between the planet and the moon. The other three moons were Dagri, Evas and Suthre.
The native Humans of Onderon struggled against the beasts, eventually gathering new technologies and building a huge walled city, Iziz, to protect themselves. Like the people of many other fringe worlds, the Onderonians had a distrust of non-Humans.

Naboo
Naboo is described as having a porous, plasma-rich interior without a molten core -- a rare phenomenon among the planets in the Star Wars universe. The surface of Naboo is covered by dense swamps, rolling grass plains, and verdant hills. The largest mountain chain, the Gallo Mountains, bisect the singular continent and divide the great grass plains of the north from the Lianorm Swamp in the south. South of the Lianorm Swamp is Paonga Sea, where at the bottom lies the Gungan city of Otoh Gunga. Underneath the planet's surface is a tremendous maze of passages and caves, home to immense aquatic animals and creatures that are never seen on the surface. Gungans dominate these 'underwaterways', using them as a highway of sorts between their surface Holy Places and their underwater cities.

Ord Mantell
Ord Mantell was known as the Heart of the Bright Jewel since it orbited the blue star Bright Jewel at the center of the Bright Jewel system. The planet was famous for its thick, outer cometary cloud, which has been the site of the Blockade Runners Derby for nearly 100 years. Two large moons and thirteen other satellites orbited the planet (to which was added the Jubilee Wheel), and the cloud cover was tinged with pink when viewed from the planet's surface. These natural wonders made Ord Mantell something of a tourist attraction, despite its seedier side. It was also the homeworld of the Mantellian Savrips, whose sapience was largely unnoticed or ignored, and Mantellian flutterplumes. Mountains were the distinct feature on Ord Mantell's terrain. Every land mass on the planet was dotted with mountain chains. Since it was not far from the planet Ankus, which was located in an unknown system near the inner border of the Unknown Regions, Ord Mantell was presumed to be located on the outer border of Wild Space, beyond the Outer Rim. Ord Mantell was settled in circa 12,000 BBY by Corellian colonists as an advanced military outpost for the Galactic Republic. It was one of several Ordnance/Regional Depots, lending to its name. The settlers became mostly farmers, although the planet became a haven for mercenaries, exiles, murderers, smugglers and all other sorts of illegal dealers. Over time, more wealthy planets and better hyperspace routes diminished Ord Mantell's strategic importance, and it became something of a free port for all manner of freighters and cargo ships. Despite the planet's diminishing stature, it remained a popular stop for traveling ships.

Kashyyyk
With no axial tilt and a perfectly circular orbit, Kashyyyk experienced no seasons. It was composed of a molten metallic core, rocky mantle, and a silicate rock crust. The planet had four continents, making up 40% of the surface, which were mostly covered in lush, tree-filled forests, although the planet did have a small amount of desert region in the rain-shadow of its small mountain ranges. A tropical ocean belt contained strings of islands and long coral reefs. In addition, a few sandy beaches could be found along the shores of its oceans. Kashyyyk's highest peak was Korrokrrayyo Mountain.[4]
Flora
Vast forests dominated by wroshyr trees several kilometres high existed on the planet. The Kashyyyk coastlines were lined with a brownish-white sand and thick grasses. Much of the planet could be compared to a giant swamp—filled with wildlife and covered with wet soil and large amounts of water. Kashyyyk also had many large seas, all of which very shallow. The prevalent ecology could be politely described as a "layered deathtrap", as the dangers presented by local wildlife increased as one descended toward the forest floor. According to Wookiee culture, this vertical environment consisted of seven levels. The bulk of Wookiee civilization was located on the uppermost seventh level, and even the bravest Wookiees rarely ventured below the fourth level. The ground level was known as the Shadowlands and, sometimes, the "notherworld"[5].
The forests of Kashyyyk were filled with a tremendous variety of plant life, many with some form of consciousness. The Wookiees learned to communicate with these plants and often came to an understanding about their use. One example of this was with the Orga plants, who allowed the Wookiees to harvest their older roots to use in Life Day ceremonies.
It is implied by Jolee Bindo that the species of wroshyr tree is in fact alien to the planet and was planted there by the Infinite Empire.
Fauna
Creatures of Kashyyyk
Besides the primary sentient Wookiees, Kashyyyk is home to various species of banthas, a small population of terentateks, and a host of other animal species.

Concord Dawn
Concord Dawn is an arid, sparsely populated world inhabited mainly by farmers. It is located in the Mid Rim. The law on Concord Dawn are the Journeyman Protectors. The planet was caught up in the Mandalorian Civil Wars in 58 BBY.
The world is home to a number of Mandalorians — Concord Dawn was the birthplace of Jango Fett as well as his mentor Jaster Mereel. Imperial Lieutenant Sheckil was also native to the planet.
Concord Dawn is the home to the Karatos Plague. All inhabitants of Concord Dawn are inoculated against it at birth.
During the New Mandalorian Crusade, Mandalore Cadden Blackthorne targeted Concord Dawn for his campaign to reunite the clans.

Nar Shaddaa
Nar Shaddaa is the largest moon that orbits the planet of Nal Hutta
More commonly known as the "Smuggler's Moon", Nar Shaddaa is similar to Coruscant in that its surface is entirely overgrown with city sprawl (an ecumenopolis).
When the Hutts left their homeworld of Varl, they displaced the Evocii, native to Nal Hutta, to Nar Shaddaa. Eventually the moon was annexed and the Hutts started building spaceports and docking bays across its surface, some stretching out into orbit. In between these ports, massive vertical cities grew. Like Coruscant, the lower levels fell into disrepair and became havens for the lowest lifeforms (particularly descendants of the Evocii) on the moon.
Over time, Nar Shaddaa went from a prosperous metropolis to a criminal haven, where anything illegal elsewhere was performed freely.

Iridonia
Iridonia was one of the first planets to be attacked by the Mandalorians during the Mandalorian Wars. Many Iridonians joined the Galactic Republic war effort after this battle.
Due to the harsh living conditions, the Zabrak were a hardy species. They took to flight and then space travel as soon as they could develop the technology, and by the time the Duros encountered them, they had already colonized five systems.
Around 1,002 BBY, the Brotherhood of Darkness operated a Sith academy on the world that trained Sith Acolytes and apprentices. The Sith also hired Zabrak mercenaries from the planet's high council.[2]
After the Battle of Ruusan, the Zabrak established colonies on many far-flung worlds. The Zabrak of Iridonia maintained the most militant culture, and Zabrak youths from the colonies were often sent to the original homeworld for warrior training.
It is likely that Palpatine visited Iridonia at some point between 54 BBY and 50 BBY and found the young Zabrak boy who would soon become his apprentice, the fearsome Darth Maul.
Kaysil Verwood became the first New Republic Senator of her people, representing not only Iridonia but all the Zabrak colonies. The Zabrak were founding members of the government, as Verwood attended the Galactic Caucus to form the new government.

Honoghr
Honoghr was the homeworld of the Noghri, near Kessel. Seven planets orbited the Honoghr sun, from tiny Logru with its oceans of boiling lava, to distant Kuthul, the frozen giant. Of these seven worlds, it was the fourth planet that was blessed with life. The planet was once part of the Infinite Empire 30,000 BBY. The Rakata constructed a temple which remained sacred to the Noghri long after the Empire's collapse. During the New Sith Wars, there was a Sith Academy there, that specialized in training Sith Warriors and Marauders. In 20 BBY, during the Clone Wars, the nonaligned planet became an ecological disaster when, after a battle in orbit, a Lucrehulk-class Core Ship crashed to the surface. The Galactic Republic took great interest in the accident due to the Separatist ship's cargo: the toxin Trihexalophine1138. As the contaminant spread, it ravaged the planet and desiccated most of its flora. Over the next few months, plains and jungles died, forcing the Noghri to trek across the planet in a mass exodus searching for a place where they could somehow survive. The Clean Lands. The Clean Lands. Within weeks of the end of the war, Darth Vader arrived at Honoghr – and promptly found his stormtrooper guards slaughtered around him by the natives with nothing more then primitive bladed weapons, impressing the Dark Lord greatly. In exchange for the Galactic Empire working to restore the planet's ecosystem, the Noghri gave homage to Vader and pledged to serve him as assassins—the Death Commandos. In reality, the Imperial restoration teams deliberately kept Honoghr poisoned using a hybrid grass that killed off the remaining plant life, thus keeping the Noghri bound in the service of the Empire. Later, during the Thrawn Crisis in 9 ABY, Leia Organa Solo arrived at Honoghr and, using her position as the daughter and heir of Darth Vader and having discovered the Empire's trickery, persuaded the Noghri to relinquish their allegiance to the Empire. The Noghri were freed from their enslavement and became members of the New Republic and its successor government the Galactic Alliance. The Noghri were represented in the New Republic Senate by Kahr'corvh of Clan Khim'bar. Leia and her entire family also became very highly respected figures in Noghri society. The New Republic helped resettle the Noghri to other planets, including Wayland, to give Honoghr time to heal.

Bakura
Bakura is a small, pastoral planet on the outskirts of known space, just outside Moddell Sector. Bakura was the site of the truce between the Galactic Empire and the New Republic. Bakura was also the site of the Battle of Bakura against the reptilian Ssi-Ruuk which used the life essences of their human captives to power their war machines. During the war with the Yuuzhan Vong, the Ssi-ruuvi Imperium attempted to assimilate Bakura through deceit. The timely rebellion by the Ssi-Ruuvi servants the P'w'ecks saved the day, but it was merely a plot by the Vong to defeat the Ssi-Ruuk. Bakura's only native sentient species is the Kurtzen, although its most populous sentient species is human. They are also known for their repulsorlift industry, though the people are quite distrustful of droids. In the game Star Wars Rogue Squadron III, Wedge Antilles led a strike force to Bakura that freed Rebel prisoners from the Battle of Hoth.

Kalee
Kalee
Kalee was the home planet to the Kaleesh, including General Grievous. It was located in the Outer Rim Territories, on the border of the Kadok Regions. Kalee was covered in tropical looking foliage and beaches. Moss-covered canyons and cliffs filled the landscapes. It was apparently a harsh world, and wanting for resources. The Kaleesh housing and buildings were very temple-like. The Kaleesh were highly intelligent bipedal hunter-warriors, hunting predators such as mumuu and karabbacs to make ceremonial cloaks and war masks. Prior to the Clone Wars, the Republic lied to the Kaleesh, telling them the neighboring Bitthævrians were threatening their border. The Kaleesh fought alongside the Jedi against the Bitthævrians. The Republic later sided with the Huks against the Kaleesh in the Huk Wars, defeating the Kaleesh. During the wars, the Kaleesh were winning under the leadership of General Grievous until he was incapacitated in a shuttle crash arranged by the InterGalactic Banking Clan. San Hill paid for a cybernetic suit to be built by the Geonosians for Grievous, who became leader of the Separatist military forces. In return for Grievous's services, the InterGalactic Banking Clan financed the economic recovery of Kalee. Due to their ties to the Separatist movement and their role in the Clone Wars, the species and their homeworld was presumably targeted for retribution by the newly risen Galactic Empire. However, for nearly a decade, the Kaleesh under General Bentilais san Sk'ar held out against the Imperials until they were finally suppressed by an Imperial fleet under Captain Thrawn. The Chiss Imperial Navy officer ordered the levelling of Kalee since he was unable to study his adversaries' art and devise a strategy to defeat them; presumably inflicting heavy casualties and bringing an end to the insurrection. Sk'ar survived and would later join the Imperial military after recognizing the Empire's superior technology and tactics. With an Imperial strike force under his command, Sk'ar embarked on a campaign across the Jahilid Drift, conquering several worlds and making a name for himself in the Imperial military until his death on Shiva IV. At the moment, Kalee's role in the post-Imperial period is unknown.

Teth
Teth was an Outer Rim Territories planet between Hutt Space and the Corporate Sector. Prior to the Clone Wars, Plo Koon helped local constable Janu Godalhi capture pirates. It was home to a Hutt fortress on a tall pillar of rock that was the site of a large battle between Republic and Confederacy forces during the Clone Wars. It was the capital of Moff Sarn Shild, who used the planet as the marshaling point for his fleet before he launched his attack on Nar Shaddaa in 5 BBY. It was also the location of an early Rebel cell. It was apparently a significant one too, as the Corellian Rebels were willing to risk sending valued commander Bria Tharen across the galaxy (a dangerous endeavor, especially during the early days of the Galactic Civil War) to make contact with them. The Tethan Rebels declined to join an outright alliance, but were willing to step-up attacks on Imperial targets like supply dumps and ships coming to and from the Corporate Sector and help funnel the proceeds to their coreward brethren.

Ryloth
Ryloth, also known as Twi'lek, and Twi'lek Prime,[2] was the harsh, rocky homeworld of the Twi'leks, an Outer Rim Territories world located on the Corellian Run and forming one endpoint of the Death Wind Corridor. Its day and year were identical, so that one side perpetually faced its sun and the other remained in darkness, a phenomenon known as tidal locking. The dayside was referred to as the Bright Lands and the night-side was known as the Nightlands. Ryloth, the second planet in the Ryloth system, was a dry, rocky world of deserts, mountain ranges with mist-covered peaks, shadowy valleys, and had little or no surface water except for patches of water ice on the night side. It possessed a thin, but breathable atmosphere. The planet was orbited by five moons, which had subtle tidal effects on the planet's liquid core and underground springs. Twi'leks flee a heat storm. Twi'leks flee a heat storm. Because of its permanent division into a day and night side, atmospheric conditions on Ryloth's surface were characterized by extremely high winds (reaching 500 kilometers per hour) scouring the surface and sculpting the landscape and unpredictable bursts of heat called heat storms, which could reach 300 degrees centigrade. The more extreme heat storms sometimes moved across the equator and reached miles underground, making caves near the surface temporarily uninhabitable, before eventually dying out on the night side. Exiled Twi'leks flee a Heat storm in 3,986 BBY. Exiled Twi'leks flee a Heat storm in 3,986 BBY. Along the equator, between the day and night side, lay a thin habitable border, a twilight realm between the two extremes. Along this narrow strip were the series of caverns and underground cities of the Twi'leks, blockaded with thick blast doors and portcullises to keep out the vicious monsters that prowled the Bright Lands, especially lyleks. The Floating Rock Gardens of Ryloth were a natural wonder and tourist attraction, well known throughout the Outer Rim, where strong winds blew among the tunnels, causing rocks to float gently through the air. Over the years the gardens became filled with rare and dazzling stones. Visitors were allowed to rearrange the stones to their liking, but were encouraged to seek meaning in the natural configurations. Kala'uun was a permanent city located within the Lonely Five mountain range, boasting a large underground spaceport

Wayland
Wayland was a lush, semi-tropical planet in the Outer Rim Territories.
Wayland was discovered and colonized during the Galactic Republic's second wave of expansion, and served as a field hospital during the Mandalorian Wars. It was also the site of a factory for Lhosan Industries. A filing error removed all record of the planet from astrogation charts and planetary logs, so that years later, people were unsure if "Wayland" was the planet's real name or an Imperial codename. The Human colonists quickly came into conflict with Wayland's indigenous sentient species, the "crystal-skinned" Myneyrshi and the "lumpy armor-plated" Psadans. In their early years, the colonists came to dominate the Myneryrshi and Psadans with Republic technology, but isolated over time, the colonists technologically regressed to the level of the indigenous species

Polis Massa
Polis Massa was once an arid, barren planetoid and the origin of a colony of resulting asteroids. It was originally the homeworld of the little-known Eellayin civilization, who dwelt in underground cities such as Wiyentaah, but the world was fractured by a mysterious cataclysm. This natural disaster formed a field of asteroids which remained known as Polis Massa, especially the largest of them. The Eellayin civilization disappeared.

Bespin
It is with mixed emotions that historians of the Rebellion consider Bespin. It is remembered both as a beautiful haven, and as a trap for Luke Skywalker and Han Solo during the Galactic Civil War.
Bespin is the principal planet in the Bespin system, located just off the Corellian Trade Spine, in the Ison Corridor. Among the other worlds orbiting Bespin's star are Miser, Orin and the Velser's Ring asteroid belt. A gaseous planet with billowy, pink and purple clouds, the planet Bespin lies far from most commercial traffic, and is close to the barren Anoat system. Like most gas giants, Bespin has multiple moons, the two most prominent being the "Twins," H'gaard and Drudonna.
The Bespin planet is some 118,000 kilometers in diameter. Like most gas giants, Bespin is made up of a core and three concentric constituent layers. The core (6,000 kilometers in radius) is composed of solid metal. The next layer is a 22,000-kilometer deep sea of liquid rethen. At this level, the rethen is so compacted that its liquefied form resembles a metal, with extreme temperature levels. The next level of liquid rethen is not as metallic, and is 30,000 kilometers deep. Here, the pressure would crush a capital ship to a compact size, and the temperatures are scalding. Above this level is the 1,000 kilometer-thick cloud layer.
At the bottom of the cloud layer, where it touches the liquid rethen sea, temperatures reach 6,000 standard degrees. About 150 kilometers down from space, and 30 kilometers deep, is Bespin's Life Zone, where temperature, oxygen, and pressure are perfect for the existence of human life. It is in this level that Cloud City, a Tibanna gas-mining colony, was built. The main hazard of Bespin's bio-zone comes from its intense storms that build up and travel across the surface.
The clouds of Bespin hold many treasures. The rarified gasses are known to produce rare and valuable gems. Bespin also is a natural factory for spin-sealed Tibanna gas. Though Tibanna can be found elsewhere, the industrial process of spin-sealing it for certain applications is very costly. The dynamics of Bespin's atmosphere naturally spin-seals the Tibanna at an atomic level, making prospecting for gas on Bespin an often-lucrative venture.
Bespin completes a day every 12 standard hours. Bespin's year is equivalent to 14 standard years. The planet is home to a number of native life forms, none of them intelligent. Among these are the beldons, the velkers, the glowers and the pinks. The skies are also home to a number of transplanted life forms, such as Alderaanian thrantas.

Roon
Long ago, the planet was once inhabited by the Taungs, who fled there after their expulsion from Coruscant c. 200,000 BBY. This is inferred by Baobab's discovery of the legendary poem, Dha Werda Verda, which chronicles the ancient Coruscanti battle. Later, the planet became the capital of the New Sith Empire.
Ancestors of Roon's current inhabitants arrived on-planet approximately 1,000 BBY. During the prosperous years of the Old Republic, the world had a small but consistent trade with independent interests, importing necessary technologies and exporting flame jewels, Roon spice, and the occasional Roonstones. Some time between 42 and 32 BBY, Mahwi Lihnn took a bounty on Roon.
Roon remained withdrawn from the New Order until shortly before the Battle of Yavin, when Koong, governor of the Tawntoom province, contacted Admiral Terrinald Screed. Together, the two officials formed a loose and informal alliance to locate the cache of precious Roonstones.
It was after Screed's interest in Roon that the planet finally began to become drawn into galactic affairs once more. A handful of Rebel Alliance groups managed to operate in the system, working with the natives of the Umboo province, a part of the planet known to have long opposed outside authority. It was through great efforts that Governor Koong tried again and again to subjugate this hardy people, but never to any avail. This is largely due to the efforts of Baobab, whose exploits on the world not only led to the discovery of the hidden Roonstone mines, but also to their subsequent destruction at the hands of the governor.
Largely thanks to its isolation, Roon remained untouched by the Yuuzhan Vong War.

Dantooine
Dantooine was a pleasant world of grasslands, rivers and lakes. The planet was located in the Raioballo Sector of the Outer Rim at an endpoint of Myto's Arrow, the other endpoint of which was in the Obtrexta Sector, though Dantooine itself was still far removed from most galactic traffic. It hosted a small population spread amongst single-family settlements and small communities with large land holdings. Its sentient population consisted primarily of simple Human farmers, though Dantooine was also home to the primitive Dantari race. Native wildlife included the kath hound, the iriaz, the kinrath, and the graul. The planet had no industrial settlements or advanced technology by the time of the Galactic Civil War.
A normal day on Dantooine lasted twenty-five standard hours, and a local year lasted 378 local days.
Dantooine had several continents. There was an equatorial one that was connected to a larger northern one and a south polar one by slender land bridges, as well as a disconnected north-eastern continent.
An olive, blue, and brown colored world, Dantooine was far removed from the bustle of the galactic trade routes. Two moons floated in the skies above the savannahs of lavender and yellow grasses.
Separated by forests of spiky blba trees, colonists maintained individual family estates largely isolated from each other.
One of the major continents of Dantooine was identified by its various geographical regions. To the southeast, there were the Rielig Steppes, with the Burad Hills at their southeastern corner. The Northeast section was identified as the Fields of Banir, which held the ruins of an ancient Jedi temple. To the Northwest, there were the Arrissi Plains, with the Mosa Rishin Taikaha Hills connecting this region to the southwestern Darjani Plains.

Tattooine
Tatooine is a planet in a binary star system (the two suns are named Tatoo I & Tatoo II), inhabited by poor locals who are mostly moisture farmers. The planet has been the site of repeated and failed attempts at colonization. The planet was under the stranglehold of the Sith for thousands of years. The planet also was the area of many battles during the Great Sith Wars which occurred 4,000 years before the Phantom Menace. During the prequel-era, it was ruled for a long period by the Hutts, being beyond the reach of the Galactic Republic. After the fall of the Republic, the Galactic Empire established a token presence on Tatooine, but the crime lord Jabba the Hutt still retained control of the planet.
Tatooine has several sizable settlements, the largest of which is the spaceport Mos Eisley, widely known for its rough-and-tumble nature and pervasive criminal underworld. Other settlements include Bestine (the nominal capital of the planet, where the Empire's government is located), Anchorhead, Tosche Station, Mos Entha, Wayfar (near Jabba's Palace), and Mos Espa, home of a sector-famous podracing track.
Because Tatooine is not a member of the Republic, Republic Credits were rarely used by merchants on the planet, who preferred to use the Huttese currency system, which consists of (in descending order of value) Peggats, Truguts and Wupiupi.
Notable geological features include the Dune Sea, an enormous desert, and the Jundland Wastes, a rocky region. Despite the planet's extreme aridity, some forms of life do thrive on Tatooine, including the rodent-like Womp rat, elephant-like bantha, and the enormous, fearsome Krayt Dragon.

Yavin IV
Yavin IV is one of the many moons of the gas planet Yavin in the Star Wars universe. It was home to the Rebel Alliance's main military base. The Rebels established their base in the ancient Massassi ruins found in its lush jungles following the destruction of their previous base on the planet Dantooine. The Galactic Empire sought to use its new space station superweapon, the Death Star, to destroy the small jungle moon and crush the Rebellion. A force of twenty-three X-Wing and seven Y-Wing starfighters (some sources state that there were twenty-two X-Wing and eight Y-Wing fighters and possibly two Z-95 Headhunters, though the latter is very unlikely) were sent to destroy the Death Star, however all but three were killed in the attack, the only survivors being Luke Skywalker, Wedge Antilles, and an un-named Y-Wing pilot (this pilot is sometimes thought to be Keyan Farlander). With seconds remaining and the timely assistance of his friend Han Solo, Luke Skywalker was able to fire a proton torpedo into a small thermal exhaust port along the Death Star's equatorial trench, thus destroying the station and saving Yavin 4. A great ceremony was held following the Death Star's destruction, where Princess Leia bestowed medals of honor to Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.
This battle became known as the Battle of Yavin, and its date is used as a place-marker for events in the expanded Star Wars universe. Events before the Battle of Yavin are marked by BBY, and events that occur after are marked by ABY.
The Yavin IV moon was also the site of giant Massassi Temples built ages ago by the Massassi to worship Naga Sadow, a Sith Lord who had enslaved and mutated the Massassi using Sith Alchemy. The Temple later housed the Rebel Alliance base who used it for shelter and camouflage during their stay there. The Alliance built tall observation towers to monitor entries and exits from their hidden base. The main temple was destroyed during the Yuuzhan Vong occupation of Yavin IV.

Dathomir
Dathomir was an obscure planet in the Outer Rim Territories, located in the Quelii Sector. It was somewhat smaller than Coruscant in size, and had slightly-below-standard gravity, but the planetary day was close to standard, and the planetary year was long, lasting 491 days. Dathomir was considered a temperate and beautiful planet by Human standards, with a varied terrain that included coastal lakes and tar-pits, thick forests and snow-capped mountain peaks, powerful rivers and broad savannas, small icecaps and dramatic rift valleys. Even under the New Republic, however, nine-tenths of the planet remained unexplored and uninhabited, with the population limited to a relatively small area along the edge one of the three main continents, a zone of uplands and river plains bounded on one side by the unsailed ocean and on the other by vast expanses of desert.

Mygeeto
Mygeeto was a wealthy InterGalactic Banking Clan colony between Ord Biniir and Morishim under control of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Since Mygeeto was locked in an ice age, giant crystallized glaciation and ice covered its surface, as well as huge crystal spurs. Because of this, Mygeeto means "gem" in the ancient trade language of the Muuns. Mygeeto's internal fires long since cooled and had left a huge deposit of precious stones within its crust and mantle. The immense assets of nova crystals and fields of lasing crystals made Mygeeto one of the wealthiest worlds in the galaxy. The planet's ice shelves were also home to huge deadly worms. Also, the planet itself was enveloped by an asteroid field.
Mygeeto was not composed of a uniform terrain; instead it was composed of many different kinds of terrain. There was no reported volcanic activity on the planet, meaning that the planets interior was stable. The immense amount of precious metals found in the crust supports the theory that Mygeeto's volcanic activities had been dormant for some time.
Few cities existed on Mygeeto's sunken surface. These cities drew power from synthesized crystals which were constructed in large capacitor towers that stored and distributed the valuable energy drawn from the crystal. These cities were used mainly for administering the surrounding crystal mines, though they also contained vaults which were used by the InterGalactic Banking Clan.
Nearly all of the planet's surface was covered in thick ice, and the polar climate caused massive snow storms that battered the frigid surface almost continuously. Before the giant ice age, Mygeeto had climate ranging form polar to temperate - 30% of Mygeeto was covered in polar ice caps and 70 was either tundra or temperate. Temperature varied between -47 degrees in polar areas to 17 degrees in equatorial areas.
Every 200 years or so Mygeeto would go through a snow shift meaning snowfall would be persistent and low pressure would dominate the northern hemisphere. This would also mean Mygeeto's mean temperature would dip significantly affecting the whole planet.

Korriban
Korriban was the sole planet in the Horuset system, located across the galaxy from Koros Major. It was the original homeworld of the Sith species and a sacred planet for the Sith Order, housing the tombs for many ancient and powerful Dark Lords of the Sith, and containing tremendous dark side power.
After the Hundred Year Darkness, the remaining Dark Jedi interbred with the Sith species and ruled the Sith using their Force powers. After the Great Hyperspace War, Korriban was abandoned and became a barren world. It was the site of two Sith Academies, and became the headquarters of the New Sith Order.

Ossus was an important Jedi site for over twenty-five millennia, serving as a repository of knowledge and a center for learning for the Old and New Jedi Orders alike. In the latter years of the Old Republic and beyond, it was home to the tribal Ysanna, descendants of Jedi who had survived the Cron supernova. The planet came under attack by the Sith twice, once in 3,996 BBY and once in 130 ABY, and was invaded by the forces of the Galactic Alliance Guard in 40 ABY.

Nelvaan is also dominated by a landscape of precarious mesas that would have fallen in standard gravity worlds. These mesas are home to the primitive Nelvaanians—blue-furred lupine humanoids. Lacking a planetary government and holding no allegiance to either the Separatists or Republic, it was a rarely visited world useful only to Bothans, who regularly siphoned water from the glacial fields, a practice that did not concern the Nelvaanians.

Taris was an urban planet in the Outer Rim Territories. Its ecumenopolis quickly developing over a century of prosperity, the planet suffered from massive overpopulation. Once a galactic nexus, Taris' importance declined with the introduction of improved trade routes, and the planet rapidly fell into decay. The remainder of the planet's history was wrought with civil disorder and social unrest. As it turned to industry as a means of compensation for its economic troubles, its oceans became polluted, eliminating the planet's main food source. Famine spread among the lower classes while the rich hoarded what few supplies remained. The resulting strife led to the Tarisian Civil War, the start of lasting prejudices between the Humanocentric Tarisian nobles and the largely alien poor. The city became segmented, and the lower classes were banned from living in the upper levels of Taris.

Peragus II
Peragus II was an Outer Rim planet that was a major source of low-grade engine fuel. First attempts at siphoning fuel off the planet resulted in the near-destruction of Peragus II, and in the signature hole that exposed its core. Following the events of 3,951 BBY, when the Peragus Mining Facility was destroyed, further mining projects were virtually abandoned.
In approximately 4,000 BBY, a fuel mining colony was established on Peragus II. Its life proved to be short, however, when an accidental blaster shot triggered an explosion of flammable substances in Peragus II's crust and mantle, so powerful that it turned a large chunk of the planet into an asteroid field and exposed its core.
No more attempts were made to colonize the planet, and the newly-constructed Peragus Mining Facility instead extracted fuel from one of the asteroids, delving deeply into it To prevent a repeat of the Peragus II disaster, blasters were forbidden in the facility; mining droids used underpowered lasers, and miners relied on safer weapons, such as sonic and ion charges, for self-defense.To allow freighters to safely dock with the facility, astrogation charts were constantly updated to reflect asteroid drifts and transmitted to navicomputers on inbound ships.
As of 3,951 BBY, Peragus was the only exporter of fuel in its sector. After the Jedi Civil War, Telos IV relied on this resource to keep Citadel Station in orbit, and with the most humanitarian elements of the Senate putting their careers at stake in the restoration project, any interruption of the work on the Peragus mining facility was likely to have greater repercussions throughout the Republic. And if the fuel supply was somehow compromised, Citadel Station would risk falling onto the planet's surface, dooming the restoration efforts there and throughout the Outer Rim.

Utapau
Ringed by numerous moons, the remote sanctuary of Utapau is a planet pitted with enormous sinkholes. Its windswept surface is dry and desert-like, but deep in the porous crust, at the bottom of the sinkhole are pools of life-giving water. Many of the sinkholes on one of the planet's small continents are lined with intricate cities that stretch deep into caves and crevices beneath the planet's surface.
The world served as a base-of-operations for the ever-mobile Separatist Council, the assembled trade and commerce barons in command of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The Confederacy had conquered the native Utapauns, who peacefully submitted to their rule.
Following a daring yet failed attempted to kidnap Chancellor Palpatine from Coruscant, General Grievous fled to Utapau to lie low. A converted Trade Federation coreship served as a command center, perched on the tenth level of one of the largest sinkhole cities on the planet. Here, thousands of droids -- including battle droids, super battle droids, vulture droids, octuptarra droids and crab droids -- stood ready to defend the outpost.
A diplomatic packet from the Chairman of the Utapau system was intercepted by one of the Republic's elite clone intelligence units. Though the Separatist Council was safely shuttled away from Utapau, General Grievous was confirmed to be on the planet. The Jedi Council dispatched General Obi-Wan Kenobi and his clone forces to Utapau in the hopes of capturing Grievous and finally ending the Clone Wars.
Kenobi arrived on Utapau, making contact with Port Administrator Tion Medon. Medon quietly informed the Jedi of Grievous' whereabouts, and Kenobi voyaged to the tenth level on the back on a loyal native lizard named Boga. There, clone forces engaged the Separatists, and the underground Utapaun resistance joined the fight.
Though Grievous was killed, sweeping political changes on Coruscant rippled outwards to Utapau. Chancellor Palpatine declared the Jedi enemies of the state, and the clone troopers attacked Kenobi. They then occupied Utapau, rounding up the local resistance fighters.

Hypori
After the Battle of Naboo, the Republic passed strict laws that severely hampered the manufacture and distribution of battle droid armies. Massive corporate entities like the Trade Federation appeared to comply with the new legislation, shutting down numerous factories within the Republic borders. In truth, they simply moved the bulk of their operations to worlds outside the Republic's jurisdiction, continuing their work in secret.
Geonosis was one of the largest of these covert foundries. The nearby world of Hypori was another. A temperate world rich with minerals, Hypori has no intelligent life. The leaders of the Baktoid Armor Workshop sponsored a colonial effort, transporting an entire Geonosian hive to Hypori. Though the tough bedrock and soil proved difficult to assimilate into a true and proper hive-mound, the Geonosian workers nonetheless turned the planet into a massive foundry, churning out battle droids in preparation for the war to come.
Jedi Master Daakman Barrek discovered the foundry during an intelligence-gathering mission with his Padawan Sha'a Gi. The two reported it into Coruscant, who dispatched an elite Jedi taskforce complete with clone trooper infantry to destroy the facility. Disguised orbital mines crippled much of the taskforce before it even made planetfall.
On the surface, the Separatist military commander, General Grievous, led the battle droid army that destroyed what remained of the taskforce.

Its bleak landscape is a visual assault of jagged obsidian mountains with towering fountains of fire and lava blasting from beneath the surface. This lava also streaks the blasted landscape in huge winding rivers and plunging cataracts. Mustafar's skies are obscured by choking black clouds of ash, smoke and tephra. The intense geological activity creates natural scanning interference that has kept prying eyes away from Mustafar for most of its history.

Dromund Kaas
"I'm not sure I like the look of that swamp."
―Mara Jade
Dromund Kaas was located within the boundaries of Sith space, and the only planet in the entire Dromund system to support life. A wet, marshy world, the majority of the planet was either ocean or swamp, making it difficult for any pilots attempting to land to find a stable location to bring their ship down.
The swamps of Dromund Kaas were thoroughly choked with vegetation. Massive, dark-wooded trees grew in the sludge and water, congesting the landscape in places to the point where the terrain seemed almost canyon-like. Vines spread from tree to tree, and ysalamiri clung to some of the higher branches; however, as of 10 ABY, the planet boasted little in the way of native fauna. The majority of creatures to be encountered on Dromund Kaas were either imported, or Sithspawn created by dark Force users. Only very durable life-forms seemed to survive long in the swamps, with predators such as mailocs, vornskrs, and swamp wampas being among the dominant species. In deeper waters lurked creatures such as water cycs and dianogas, awaiting prey to fall into their grasps.
In fact, one of the few species that could not be traced to elsewhere in the galaxy was the dart flower. Small, quasi-intelligent plants, dart flowers would shoot razor-sharp thorns at any passing lifeform, making the already hazardous trek across the planet even more difficult.

Kamino
Purged from the otherwise complete Jedi Archives is all evidence of the mysterious world of Kamino. A lonely world beyond the Outer Rim and just south of the Rishi Maze, few could have predicted that Kamino would become a key contributor to a massive shift in political power in the waning days of the Republic.
Kamino is a planet of tumultuous oceans and endless storms. Few features mark its surface, save for massive stilt-mounted cities wherein reside the planet's natural inhabitants, the Kaminoans.
From Tipoca City, the planet's Prime Minister rules. Lama Su closely monitored the operations of Kamino's most prized export: clones. Though few are privy to such knowledge, the Kaminoans are reputed to be the best cloners in the galaxy. The Grand Army of the Republic, used during the Clone War, was hatched, grown and trained at the facilities on Kamino. To supply the army with armor and transport, the Kaminoans partnered with the neighboring Rothana system to develop advanced combat machinery.

Rishi
Rishi was a tropical planet in the Rishi system, located on the periphery of the Rishi Maze Rishi orbited by its moon.It was the endpoint of the only well-traveled hyperroute into the Rishi Maze. The planet was the homeworld of the avian Rishii, as well as a number of fundamentalist followers of the H'kig religion who colonized the planet in 70 BBY. Many smugglers used this planet as a base. In addition to the lush tropical terrain, Rishi's surface featured mountains, valleys, and swamps. Human and alien colonists lived in the deep valleys, while the Rishii lived in the high mountains. The smuggler Talon Karrde and his lieutenant Mara Jade had a base here, which became his main base of operations after his base at Myrkr was compromised during the Thrawn

Lwhekk
Lwhekk was a humid, jungle-covered planet located in the Ssi'kaat system within the remote Ssi-ruuk Star Cluster beyond the known Galaxy. The jungles of Lwhekk were broken by spired cities which appeared to be quite fragile against the jungle. The planet also had volcanoes and a large part of it appeared to be covered by oceans.
Known locations on Lwhekk included the volcano Mount Skar'lak, the underground Caves of Ss'laath and the Cree'n'aak Palace which served as the residence of His Potency the Shreeftut, the supreme ruler of the Ssi-rruk. The planet's sentient species were the saurian Ssi-ruuk and P'w'eck races. Lwhekk was also home to the fft, small multi-legged lizards which were the main source of food of both Ssi-ruuk and P'w'eck.
The Ssi-ruuvi Imperium had two seats of power; the Conclave, the religious body, and the Elders' Council, the political body. The Conclave and the Elders Council often competed for control of the empire and only the leader of the Imperium could prevent civil war from happening. The leader of the Imperium was known as His Potency the Shreeftut and was the supreme ruler of the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium.
The society of the dominant Ssi-ruuk was divided into a rigid caste system based on skin color. Their caste system was comprised of five main groups: blue, gold, yellow, red and green. The skin of a Ssi-ruuk represented his political standing. One color dominated each Ssi-ruuk's body and it was forbidden to mate with a different colored Ssi-ruuk.
Blue-scaled Ssi-ruuk were the politicians and leaders of society while gold-scaled individuals served as the religious caste. Yellow-scaled Ssi-ruuk were responsible for the technology used by the Ssi-ruuvi Imperium while red-scaled Ssi-ruuk dominated the Imperium's military. Green-scaled Ssi-ruuk formed the work force of Ssi-ruuvi society.
Below them were brown hued Ssi-ruuk who were the offspring of two Ssi-Ruuvi from two different castes. These were considered outcasts by Ssi-ruuvi society and performed the most menial of jobs. Last of all were the P'w'eck—a related species—which served only as slaves.

Lehon
Lehon was a tropical world that inhabited a remote and relatively unknown corner of the Galaxy. Its surface was largely covered by oceans which were dotted by numerous clusters of islands and archipelagos. It was the only planet in the Lehon system, but it shared an orbit around its primary star with the Star Forge, an ancient Rakatan space station and factory which drew its fuel directly from the system's primary star. The planet itself was orbited by two small moons, but one of them was close enough to be visible from the surface during daylight, covering a significant portion of the sky.
Millennia before the birth of the Galactic Republic, the planet was the capital of the ancient Infinite Empire of the Rakata (49,000 – 25,200 BBY). The Rakata were a scientifically advanced species, though they used their knowledge to enslave and subjugate other, less-developed or evolved species. They were responsible for creating several technological marvels including the semi-sentient Star Forge, which churned out war droids and spaceships at an alarming rate. The Rakata built large cities on their homeworld, which later became crumbling ruins reclaimed by the jungle.
Crashed spaceships on Lehon, including a Hammerhead-class capital ship.
The Infinite Empire, which at its peak included approximately 500 planets, ten billion Rakata, and over a trillion slaves, ended in a brutal civil war. During the final days of the Empire, the Rakata were forced to flee back to their homeworld due to widespread slave insurrections and the ravages of a deadly plague, but on its surface their war continued. The surviving Rakata, now extinct beyond their homeworld, succumbed to barbarism. Battling warlords severely damaged the surface of Rakata Prime through the use of weapons of mass destruction that fragmented it into islands. The majority of the species were forced to flee underground because their planet had become almost uninhabitable.

Zonama Sekot
Zonama Sekot (Ferroan for "World of Body and Mind") was a living, sentient world capable of traveling through space. Zonama was the planet itself, while Sekot was the living intelligence of Zonama. It was also the seed of the original Yuuzhan Vong homeworld, Yuuzhan'tar, which had been destroyed during one of their civil wars.
Zonama Sekot was unique from other worlds. Its north polar region, a spot of pearl white, was surrounded by an entire hemisphere of tropical jungles. Its southern hemisphere was covered with impenetrable silvery clouds. Along the equator there were several rivers, lakes, and small seas. The edge of the southern hemisphere was also covered by elegant wisps of wind which frequently broke free to form spinning storms.

Deralia
Deralia was the supposed home planet of Revan's new identity after his mind had been tampered with by the Jedi Council. When Bastila asked him of what world he hailed from, Revan merely replied Deralia. Though Revan was puzzled as to the purpose of the question, it was likely that Bastila was checking whether the Dark Lord's memories had truly been replaced.
Nothing is known about this planet, except that (if it was Revan's true homeworld) it is located in a remote system.
It is unknown whether it was Revan's real homeworld, though this seems unlikely, as the Jedi Council would most likely have chosen an unsuspecting biography which was difficult to verify, and one that would not be familiar to his subconscious.

Ilum
Ilum is home of the crystals that give lightsabers their color. 1000 years before the battle of Yavin, some of the caves of Ilum were severely damaged and some crystals were destroyed, most of them yellow. That is why there are very few yellow lightsabers in the actual movies. During the Clone Wars, the Separatists launched a covert strike against Ilum with Chameleon droids. Barriss Offee and Luminara Unduli were in one of the caves containing lightsaber crystals at the time, but they soon realized that there were too many attackers. Seeing this in a vision, Jedi Master Yoda requested Padmé Amidala to go to Ilum, but Captain Typho objected. Typho was "persuaded" to go, and together they saved the crystal caves, with Offee and Unduli safe. It was soon destroyed after the Empire came to order by The Great Jedi Purge, also known as Order 66.
