Yeh, I said the game is a thin line between being lucky and unlucky. But that's too much. Pick'em is the way to go. I couldn't have ended up with a worse group of players. Battleship sunk. I'll fight but damn... |

Sorry for venting. I was so close to being in a commanding position in this game. |

Always interesting when players think they're going to get to be in control of who ends up on which tribe instead of it going to chance.
Who's to say you can't get there? I consider you a very adaptable player. |

You do realize how close I was? If I wasn't the last name picked I was going to end up on a tribe with 3 of my main allies. 3 of Gretchen, Jill, Scout and Dr. J. That's it. That 4 is not breaking up. No way. They're tight. Especially if I was there. We'd have found the weak guy and flipped them and it would have been clear sailing to merge...For the most part I think it would have been at least. Instead I land on the side of things with Crystal, Deena and Ruth Marie. The worst possible combination of women I could have possibly ended up with. Crystal isn't around and I had no relationship with her whatsoever prior. If anyone was going to flip it was going to be her. Deena is good for a chat and might be a good partner in crime but again, she knows where I stood on the other side and she might be competent enough to sell me out. Ruth Marie, bless her heart, is a sweet soul who speaks in emoticons and short sentences. She is not someone I would prefer to be in the trench with. Yes, I am adaptable but this might be too much. I am going to play it the only way I know how. Aggressive. Try and sell my "this game is for fun" routine and hope I get some bites. Convince some of the guys that I am someone to work with. I am going to sell out everyone I possibly can to make sure I at least get to the merge, hopefully. That could target me immediately or it could endear me to them. Last ditch effort I tell them that the 4 girls on the other side are not breaking up. Tell them how close I was with those girls and that I will sell them out should we merge and they be there. Have to convince them, make me trust me. It really is my biggest challenge to date in one of these games. I was on cruise control on the other tribe. If the woman's side of things was the only game, I could have repeated, but I knew this swap was coming. I knew it. I just thought I would have, probability wise, landed with some better people to work with. Nope. Got to take the tough road. The toughest road possible. And landing with 3 guys from the same original tribe only makes it tougher as opposed to landing with 2 and 2. Oh well. It's a game of luck sometimes. I'm going to play it the best I can but if I go out tomorrow night it will be because I was unlucky more than any fault of my own gameplay. |

I think the real Colby said it best during the H's vs V's Final TC when he talked about luck. It definitely is a factor in SURVIVOR. How it's dealt with, however, is up to you players. ![]() |

I think it's the stupidest fucking thing Ive ever seen in this game. I really hope that's part of her strategy to get rid of us because if it isn't then I've never been more annoyed in this game. It's already an uphill climb without you Trish. |

So, if the New Baikal plays like the old Yenisei did........how will this play out from here? |

I have no idea how this will play out Brobst. Certainly doing my best to ensure I can make it to the merge. I've reached out to the guys. I've tried to separate myself from original Yenisei as best I can. I've told them I was one of those girls numbers and that they can use me in a merge scenario against those girls. I tried to scare them that those 4 girls are not breaking up, that some of their allies are going to be gone. I've told them I will vote out Ruth Marie. I've tried to separate myself as an individual amongst the other girls on my tribe. Now it is just a matter of what they want to do. All I could do entering this swap was put my faith in other players hands. I played it the best way I thought I could. There was nothing for me to be gained by sticking with the girls or trying to flip one of the guys. I figured it was better for me to be aggressive and come to them immediately, arms open and offer them an ACTUAL ally. Crystal isn't going to be talking any strategy from what I've seen. Deena could be dangerous but she isn't around terribly much. We all know Ruth Marie is harmless. Now what do the guys want? Do they take me for my word that I can deliver them the other girls on a silver platter (which I could and would if situation called for it) or do they see me as the only woman threat on this side of things? Do they see the original Yen having 6 active players and wanting to dwindle that number (which they could accomplish by getting rid of Ruth Marie, which I suggested)? Do they take what I've told them and run back to the other girls to divide us and make the vote easier? They could do any of this. I don't know. It's frustrating that they don't really seem to sign on much during the day. Meanwhile, the entirety of the other tribe is on almost all the time. But I have to work with what I have been given. I sold out my girls. I've painted myself as a worthy ally who wants to find new partners. I've painted myself as a useful tool to be used against my former tribe mates. Now it is up to them. I really have no power now except to try and win this challenge tonight. |

If we lose it might be me tonight. Nothing more than just a gut feeling. Good riddance if it is. My tribe sucks. They complain about inactives yet none of them are around all day. I feel like I'm playing with a brick wall over here. When you play with players like that, not much you can do. |

I still don't think it would have been me that flipped. ![]() Every single guy saw the Yen 6 as the Carrier in the game of Battleship (the biggest piece, for the record...the Battleship is actually only four units long), and was focused on whittling down their numbers, and working to some extent with Deena and Crystal. Well...then there is James...who was just focused on exacting revenge on me.

Shane, Here's the thing. You switch me with any one of Trish, Scout, Gretchen or Jill, and I am probably the one the guy's would initially feel LEAST threatened by. Because I purposefully was inactive on the forums and quiet on the boards, everyone assumed Trish was leading the show (even though as Brobst Power Rankings would suggest was not the case). I am pretty positive I would have been the bottom of the hit list. So at WORST, if that swap works out different then I probably am at worst finishing somewhere F8-10. But you also can't factor in how my game play and style would have meshed with yourself, Ace and Jamie's individual game play, and how that would have affected all of y'alls individual games. As much as I liked Scout, Jill and Gretchen, I was still very much a wild card and would have been open to working long term with anyone at this point in the game. You can see on the side I ended up with that I was very close to getting Frank and Hunter to work with me as well. So, yes, you all did perceive the Yenisei's as a huge target and threat, and yes, you probably would have whittled them down no matter, but my point is I would not have been a victim of that I don't think. I am confident enough in my game play to think I could have, and would have wanted to, break into something long-term with one of you guys. My point basically was that the swap screwed me out of a jury spot (at worst) and a definite sniff or fair chance at the end game. I knew I had a HUGE uphill battle on my side of things and that no matter how I played it, the perception of the Yen6 would probably be too big an obstacle to overcome. |
