Well, kids...haven't had much new to write about here since ol' Shane got booted, so figured I should officially close things off on Survivor: Siberia.

Best of luck to everyone in the Final 12, and will see everyone at the reunion reveal.

I truly cannot keep this game running if I cannot get caught up. I love that Ponderosa is active, but I honestly can't keep up with the game if I don't close it for now.

I ask that y'all trust me.

Thanks

Your main duty is to the people actually still playing the game, not those simply watching it and discussing it. And I'm not helping matters by being as active (and apparently incendiary) as I am.

It's all good.

I'm just waaaaaaaaay behind, dude. And all day long, all I've seen are posts like Linda's "we should be allowed to peek in on the Jury House"......and the players discussing that they should be paid for this. I'm like - Hello??? I'M the one who spends 140 hours per week maintaining this game FOR FREE.

Peeking into the Jury House: Read our posts, say you appreciate the input, reiterate your decision, case closed. No wasted energy needed.

Pay for Play: Do you seriously think anyone was serious about this? Come on. And if it comes down to a perceived lack of appreciation, people have been saying THROUGHOUT what a kickass job you're doing. Linda or whoever was just expressing their frustration at others or the stress of the game or whatever. Laugh it off. On Survivor, the players do get paid...but Probst gets paid a LOT more.

And another I noticed - "Is there ANOTHER merge after this?" as discussed in the Mountain: Again, nothing you are expected to respond to. After the reveal of another tribe, it's been an ongoing joke that there would be more twists. Don't interpret people joking about another merge as evidence they haven't been paying attention. It's fun to joke about. And if they ARE serious, so what? Let 'em wonder.

I'm sorry if my comment about "what is and isn't called a merge" ignited any of this. All I meant was you seem to be spending a lot of unnecessary energy in pushing terms on us that none of us have been using...and when we already have been using our own terms. It is what it is.

But I've had two posts deleted from Ponderosa now, and who knows how many more that have walked the line. Eh. Better to just observe.

I just deleted a question from you and one from Teresa that I just didn't have time to go into. I think it was something about which merges in which seasons have been the craziest.
I don't want questions directed at me sitting there for a week til I have time to get to them.

After EVERY GAME I've hosted, I've had people come to me privately with very serious suggestions about how money should be involved.....both for players and for hosting. I don't agree with any prize money incentive because I know that these games get intense enough without money at the end. Plus, I know that the game would become very different. I don't want people playing based on who "needs" the money the most. Or people coming up with lies about financial situations just so they could win even though they might not care about some cash prize.

And the thing is, when sitting on this side of the hosting perch, I HAVE TO treat every question as if it is completely legitimate, even if I know the person is only half-kidding. Because for every question that is not completely serious by one person.....there will be AT LEAST 3 people who will think it is completely serious. Most of the time, I'm answering the question not for the benefit of the person who asked it, but for the benefit of others who might be newer to these games and might not know how things run. Kinda like how I am in Confessionals with all you players. 90% of the time, I'm asking a question I already know the answer to. :)

Don't sweat it, man. I am just WAY behind and the only way I can truly get caught up is to close Ponderosa til tomorrow night. Honestly, if I could - I'd close The Mountain for the players til then, too.

I am currently trying to figure out how I can cram in all the admin stuff I'm behind on as well as challenge prep. No one honestly understands how much time it takes to effectively run this. I could easily be a "hands off host" and just post the challenges and the TC and that's it. No reading PMs, no writing analysis round by round. But the stuff I do around here seems to be what people like the most, especially after the game wraps.

But I knew this would be an even bigger undertaking with a 32-player setup. In a normal game, I wouldn't mind so much. But in a normal game, Ponderosa would be made up of just Bobby, Rupert, Sarge, guys like that. It would be quiet and inactive, like most of them were during the game.

Anyway, it's all good dude. Don't sweat it. :D
