"Everything's for sale my friend. Everything. If I had a sister I'd sell her in a second." -Belethor; Skyrim I am thinking of setting up shop, possibly near or in the beautiful new castle at spawn (thanks all who worked on that wonderful construct btw). I noticed that I have a lot of things that people may want to buy, so I figured I mine as well go all Walmart on everybody. If you have things that you would be interested in buying instead of gather or make yourself, let me know! I just may have a huge stock of it available. Currently I have large deposits of slimes, huge deposits of blaze rods, constantly getting essentials like cobble, stone, dirt, and redstone, I am breeding champion horselines (currently 3 types: pure white, brown with spots, dark brown with spots), moderate amounts of saddles and golden/iron horse armor, potatoes, carrots, and netherwart. I also have handy auto-brewers for 4 types of potions that I currently have surpluses of: fire resist (8 min), speed 1 (8 min), strength 2 (1:30 min), and night vision (8 min). There are also plenty more items that can currently be gathered and sold if the interest is high (e.g. wood, etc.) If you are interested in any of these things or possibly other things, let me know so that I can see if this will be worth it or not. I may just end up making trades on an individual basis. I plan on taking mainly iron (preferable), gold, or diamonds as payments. I have been, however, known to take things such as horse armor or name tags as payment. I haven't established prices for anything yet, except for horses. I have judged that the amount of time and effort put into establishing a steady horse business warrants a reasonable price of 1 stack of iron(64) / 1/2 stack of gold(32)/ 1/8 stack of diamonds(8). I will also sell saddle and armor (gold armor atm is my most owned armor) for half the price of the horse each. If, however, you buy the full package (horse with saddle and armor), you will get the saddle or armor free, for a final price of 1.5 stacks of iron/etc... Also, I am considering employing myself out for redstone engineering contracts. For example: If you like my auto-brewer and want one really bad but don't know how to make it, you could pay me to come and build it for you. Like the autominer? It's yours for the right price Of course I haven't thought of a price for any of this yet, but as most of these are my own, personal and secret designs, it is likely to be for the fat and wealthy minecraft aristocrats. ![]() Please add input on any or all of this post so I can gauge where everybody is at on this. ![]() |

Would be nice if you could post a picture of your sister... ;-) In general, I am not very interested in buying stuff right now, I am more interested in learning how you manage to accumulate large deposits of slimes... Guess you still need a lot for the sticky pistons. And another question from me as a MP newbie: if I decide to go to the market (or your shop near the market)... what is the best way to travel long distances with a lot of stuff to sell? Is it really only riding horse (with donkey + chest) or using a hidden railway track or is there a more advanced way of travelling long distances in a short time? Maybe something like linked nether portals, but is there anything else? |

The only "speedy" way to get to spawn that I know of is taking the nether. Me and Masterliam have been having to carve a nether path to spawn recently since it is nearly impossible to just trek across towards spawn. However, to make this even faster, we are making our netherpath large enough to ride horses through. That way, we are combining the speed of horses with the shrunken coordinate length of the nether. I'm estimating a final travel time of under 5 minutes when all is said and done. This is a pretty reasonable travel time, especially if its just every now and then for a trade. As for the slimes, I happen to live next to many large swamps, and frequently visit them on full moons. I also use my Looting III sword on them to max out slime drops. I'm a big fan of sticky pistons, and I need them for fire resist pots P.S. I have TWO sisters... They are both beautiful but they are also both married

That was something I was trying to figure out myself. Currently, I'm thinking that in comparing the act of blaze rod collecting vs. iron collecting. For iron, you simply dig down a bit and either find deposits of 4-8 iron quite often and without too much time strip mining or you find a cave/chasm with iron frequently distributed along the cave sides in patches of 3-4. Then you have the blaze rods. You need nether access, location of a nether fortress, location of a blaze spawner in said fortress, and equipment sufficient to survive what you run into while there. You also usually need to kill about 2-3 blazes before actually getting a rod (depending on luck). Comparing the two times described here I feel that maybe your average blaze rod, including the trouble to get it, would be worth at least two deposits of iron. However, since I am selling it to you, I want to "beat the price," in a sense, of you going to get one yourself. I would probably sell a blaze rod for the average deposit worth of iron. Thus, I will suggest a trade price of: 1 blaze = 6 iron ingots For the first 5 blaze rods, this will be the rate of exchange, but as you purchase more, you will get bulk discounts: 1-5 blaze rods = 6 iron ingots/ea 6-10 blaze rods = 5 iron ingots/ea 11-29 blaze rods = 4 iron ingots/ea 30-63 blaze rods = 3 iron ingots/ea 1 stack of blaze rods = 2 stacks of iron ingots/ea 2 stacks of blaze rods = 2.5 stacks of iron ingots/ea 3+ stacks of blaze rods = 1 stack of iron ingots/ea Overall, this is to ensure that my small transactions are still worth the trouble, while large transactions are more appealing to the buyer. If you are trying to imagine what is the point of having an entire stack or more of blaze rods, remember: Blaze rods = Potion brewers, strength potions, (+slime) fire resist potions, eyes of ender, fire charges, and they work as the 3rd best fuel source, second only to blocks of coal and lava (they burn 50% longer than coal, handy for large stone projects). In fact, if you are planning on purchasing bulk amounts of blaze rods with the intention of using them as fuel, let me know, and we could negotiate the price. The new price will likely be closer to what you would pay for the equivalent of 1.5 times the amount of coal. Also, remember that I also take alternative forms of payment, depending on what I need (e.g. I need another name tag atm so I may negotiate a price for one of those), and I also take gold and diamonds at their respective rates mentioned in the first post. Of course I haven't thought of a price for any of this yet, but as most of these are my own, personal and secret designs, it is likely to be for the fat and wealthy minecraft aristocrats.
