Corluka and Willy P are worth mentions too. Both had great games.

Gomes for me, how much better does he look now? Modric great also but lots of good performances.

Difficult to split it, but Gomes for me. We were lucky that Alex's effort hit the bar. Not sure what Boswinga was up to and why he did not let the ball run out.

Really? Palacios's passing was awful. He gave away the ball so often. Worse than Zokora's normal standard.

Palacios makes up for it with the fact he can actually tackle and seems to be aware that he is on a football pitch rather than a chicken coop for those that lack the head area.

Not disputing that he's better than Zokora. Just wouldn't say he had a great game or was anywhere near man of the match.

went for modders for the fact that he's been due a goal for a while and to do it against a top 4 club will stop lazy journalists saying he's lightweight or has been a flop

same goes for gomes, despite the fact that he's been solid for time, you have to do it against someone like the chavs for the media to take note

fuck the media, COYS

I would have to say that JJ was the weakest link in the team yesterday

My bad. Should have put worse in ' '.
There were no bad individual performances yesterday, just one great team effort.

PD's very own cheapskate.

Just watched the game, was really impressed with pretty much the entire team. Modric was as big a match winner as Gomes was a match saver, and it was hard to chose between the 2. In the end I gave it to Modric. This guy has replaced Berbatov in the team as the player most likely to make something happen. Total class, I bet Chelsea wish they had him.

Can't make up my mind. Somebody do the impossible and try to convince me as to why Bent was MOTM.

GOEFF!!

He stretched the game well enough causing them problems, but he wasnt MOTM.

Corluka could have been though, fucking immense hes been this season.

I myself went for Gomes.

Can't make up my mind. Somebody do the impossible and try to convince me as to why Bent was MOTM.
Because he worked relentlessly for 90 minutes, closing the defence down, charging down the 'keeper, tracking back, supporting all the attacks, competing for headers (take note Keane, you are allowed to jump even if you're not favourite to win the ball).

Doubtless the counter-argument will be that it's all running rather than on-the-ball quality, but I think it was that work-rate across the whole team that won the game yesterday, rather than anyone controlling the match as such, and Bent best epitomised that.

It's difficult to single anyone out as being head and shoulders above the rest in terms of quality of performance, but I can't see that Bent requires any more justification than anyone else out there.

There used to be a football club over there

Modric for me albeit from highlights - great finish. Agree with Paul Walsh comments that Gomes saves were simply solid saves you'd expect him to make, 'cepting the one from Terry...still good to see him growing in confidence.
