Merge and a format that requires challenge strength? Best night ever! Indy has been winning the lions share of these and was usually first to finish the challenges correctly, so basically I am going to be piggybacking on his success :<3

What's your take on some of these people that you weren't able to talk to for about a week? Do you have people that you want to work with? People that you want gone?

Well, let's just say I am starting a new drinking game. Every time someone says they wish they ended up on a tribe with me then I take 3 shots.

I am not stupid, I know that yeah, we got along before the split, but I also know better than to think that they do not have their own game plan intact, so really saying they wish I had ended up with them is just a way to make me feel flattered so that I expect they will drop whatever plans they have set in place and we will go all the way to the finals with them just because we had good conversations a week ago when we first met! :<3

If there is anyone from the Poona Rifles tribe that I think I would be willing to trust, it would be Belloq. He seems to actually have reason to want to flip, and so I am going to work on getting to know him since we did not have a good chance to talk during opening weekend.

Ok, fair enough, let me follow up on something you sidestepped...

While you seem content enough that your allies may win power in this, if you can't make the decision yourself, who would you push to people as potential nominees? Are you not at that decision point just yet?

Also, who were the people that were saying that they wish they had ended up with you or w/e?

That is the tricky part. I have not been winning these challenges so far so it is not like I can just make the decisions I want, I actually have to be in the ears of those who do. But that is the kind of strategy that requires caution since there is no knowing 100% who will win. I have to find a way to keep my own name off the radar while at the same time trying to push for those I want gone. I think it is a safe assumption that Indy will win a lot of these, and he seems to value my opinion, but is also very stubborn sometimes. If he has his mind made up about something it is hard to talk him out of it. I think for the most part we agree on who we want out this round. We will be pushing for one of Ernst or Walter to go.

Ernst was a late arrival, but did a good job at recovering from that stigma that surrounds late arrivals. The perception is that he is the one calling the shots and in control. Not complete control, though. Walter is a very smooth talker and I know he has a lot of say in what goes on as well. He and Ernst are more than likely working closely together. At least, that is the perception. If I am to take what Belloq says as truth, then him telling me Ernst is one of the bigger players on the Poona Rifles helps feed into that perception.

At the end of the day I mostly just want my opinion to be heard among my alliance. Even though I can sometimes be a crazy control freak and want everything to go my way, I need to be careful about whose name I toss out there to people I am not 100% sure I can trust. I think as long as I am persistent and persuasive among my alliance I should be able to have a good amount of control whenever one of us wins power, and if I play the other side enough to keep them from nominating me, then hopefully I can get the best of both worlds? :shrug

Oh, and that comment about people telling me they wish I was on their tribe. It was Walter and Chattar Lal. Walter I was close with before the split, so I guess in his case it is not so much ass kissing, and probably a little genuine, however, I will not just be foolish and automatically trust him based on the fact that I know had things worked out differently, he and I would have worked well together. He is a smart player. I know he knows better than the rearrange your gameplan for one person who you got along with opening weekend. He is doing exactly what I want to do. Keep himself safe in case I win power. Likewise I would like to be safe should he win power as well. I am much more cold and calculating than I give off, though. I do not mind betraying him a little bit. He will have to go eventually anyway.

As for Chattar Lal. I feel he was mostly just being polite. I think he was someone I talked with the least while we were one group, so he is politicking. But again, I am not naive enough to try and keep people safe just because we don't hate one another. I liked a lot of people I voted out. Kazim and Mola Ram, to be specific. The more charming these boys are to me, the less I trust them. If they are charming to me, they are charming to others, which makes them a huge threat.

I am starting to put my plan to be in the good graces of the Nazi tribe into action. I am trying to appeal to a more logical side of some of the players. I am pointing out that our format works best with more people, and that we should all expect a format change at some point before the numbers get too low. I am pointing out that I am of no threat in this format. I have not won a challenge all game, so there is no need to nominate myself, and that if they keep me safe, I will pull for them with the better challenge competitors among my tribe to keep them from being nominated. Although I do not want to get too ambitious. I only made this offer to Toht and Walter. If I make to all of them, no doubt they would trade notes and be on to me. 2 seems like a sufficient number, and they are the 2 I find most tolerable to talk to among the Nazi tribe.

This can work 2 ways basically. Either they completely take me up on this and make sure I am safe, or it makes them see me as a huge threat for playing so hard and they try to get rid of me. If that were the case, I would go out with my head held high and be glad that at least I was trying to really work the social game to keep myself safe instead of just rolling over and doing whatever. It is a double edged sword. You want to be seen as a capable enough player to win, but not too capable that they see you as a threat and want you out.

Are you actually trying to work with them long term or are you just trying to keep your head above water for now if they are in power?

I would say probably a mix of both? It's important for me to keep my options open. I want to make the most logical move possible for me each round of the game. For all intents and purposes, I am kind of going back my initial floater strategy a bit, but I do not want to act like a float, which makes no sense at all  I want to float without getting caught doing it basically.

I assume this format will last all week, then we will have a new one and I will adapt accordingly to said format, whatever it may be. Temple of doom lasted straight into the merge, then I assume Raiders and the Last Crusade will both be 5 boots each and we will be left with a final 2, because who cares about integrating Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? :shrug

I'm sure your son cares about integrating it! He's currently owning the shit out of the vine-swinging challenge!
