I deploy my forces as close as possible to his table quarter providing a guant screen for the walking tyrant and putting the flying tyrant and zoans on the flank. The genestealers hide in reserves with the lictors and the 2 heavy fexes sit atop a hill...

The enemy also deploys close, hoping to use the flamers no doubt with the special weapons teams on one flank and doesn't realize both my fexes can draw LoS on them and Straken... The heavy weapons teams are placed in the back allong side the second command squad and behind a screen of guard squads... He then infiltrates his veterans behind a tower out of sight of my men but rather close to my flank... He put 4 penal legions in reserve, all of them but one having the rending speciality cept for one squad having the quickshooters thingy...

Turn 1:
I move up all my guys while trying to keep them in cover with the nearby woods, the dvil fex and flyrant also move into the same woods with the guants while the zoans follow on their left. The Walkrant moves to his left, hoping to later get a good shot on the veterans hiding behind the tower while a guant screen heads towards a wooded area hoping for food...

The shooting phase was lovely...The fexes blasts destroy almost all the special weapon teams and most of Strakens command squad leaving only him, the astropath, and the Master of the fleet (grr).. Bad rolling considering he had a coversave... my zons take some potshots but nothing really of note... The gaunts move more within the woods

His turn he moved straken back to try and keep him alive while moving the veterans into the open... And in sight of the walkrant... Shooting sees him cause 3 wounds on the Devil fex and kill some gaunts. he also downs a zoan.

Turn 2

Second Turn sees me able to only bring in one Genestealer brood (thanks to the lictor rerolling on a 6+ to get in... Ugh) and a lictor...and get them outflanking behind his mortar and a command squad. the flyrant moves in to charge some guardsmen within another patch of woods and the depleted squad of gaunts begin to move back to my objective after I realise that there would potentially be 4 penal legions outflanking me...

Shooting phase sees my run some gaunts around then following that the blast templates are a flying once more... This time its much less potent but still claims many guardsmen, the walkrant guns down the veteran squad leaving only Harker who turns tail and runs thanks to the -1 to his leadership (he rolled an 8)... the devil fex barely hurts a squad since they all go to ground and get a 2+ save. During the assault i try to get straken in one go and charge with the lictor. He causes two wounds on straken but the advisors remain alive. Straken then proceeds to shop the lictor to bits. The genestealers charge the second command squad and decimate it leaving only the officer and losing only 1 genestealers, he fails his eladership test and gets mowed down by the stealers... Elsewhere the flyrant destroys a guard squad and consolidates into the woods.

HIs turn sees the arival of ALL the penal legions on my side of the board dangerously close to my shooting fexes (bloody 3+ entry). Then while im distracted he begins shooting his lasguns at the fex. Only to realise it was all in vain since they don't affect it. More shootnig is directed at my Devil fex and kills it while the flyrant losses one wound. From the shadows Marbo appears and tosses a demolition charge at the Walkrant and his guard killing two of them. Then the most awsome thing happens... Straken pulls out his plama pistol and it overheats removing his final wound and killing himself! (We assume he reailised the futility of his resistance and commited suicide to the amazement of the nearby advisors). Then in true guard fashion he orders mortar strikes dangerously close to his own men in an attempt to remove the genestealers from his deployment zone. He kills them all and barely misses his own men. Lastly the remnants of the special weapons temas open thier flamers on the nearby guants killing them all (exactly as planned). The penal legions try to charge the fex but discover they are just out of range and are forced to sit there, ready for shooting...

Turn 3 (Final turn since I had to leave and I was his ride)

The remainder of the genestealers emerge from reserves one of each side of the table and a lictor emerges to attack a heavy weapons team. Shooting sees the fexes open up on the penal legions and accidentaly scatter onto Marbo instant killing him... More gouges are made into the penal legions with a returning squad of gaunts and the walkrant. The assault phase sees the gaunts and genestealers assault the penal legionaires decimating two squads and leaving only one brave soul fighting off a wave of gaunts. ON the other side of the table the Flyrant charges another guard squad while the lictor assaults a heavy weapons team. Both decimate thier targets. In a similar fashion the genestealers eliminate the last command squad with brutal efficiency. The game ends here with both of us deciding it to be a draw since I was unable to take his objective (The genestealers were going to go down fast and the flyrant on his own would most likely be eliminated in short order) and his penal legions were almost all gone...

All in all it was a great game and the new guard are really fun to play agaisnt...
