So Rusty has me watching something worthwhile for once, and it has me thinking it COULD happen again very easily! What do you think would trigger it? I have a short list. Defaulting on the Welfare/S.S.I/disability checks/Economic collapse. Signing away the 2nd amendment to the U.N. A stolen election by either party would definitely send people to the streets! Any president canceling elections for ANY reason. An E.M.P event or attack. The 99% and tea party guys reconciling the differences and going after the common enemy![Don't laugh, I've seen it twice with my own eyes and yes, I take my medicine before going out!]The transparency in government movement is getting stronger by the day!I think that the more intelligent and culturally aware of BOTH groups are already lining this up, not all 99% are hippies and not all Tea bags are hicks with dicks! Anonymous crashing the net/the government turning it off and blaming them! There's my short list, critique or add your own death of a nation scenarios. |

election was stolen in 2000 and nothing happened. entire world was on the verge of "economic collapse" twice in the past century and it never happened. the UN is almost completely powerless and it's an absurd fantasy to think that any organization would want or be able to disarm the american public. it's also an absurd fantasy to think that an election would be canceled, there is no legal framework to do so and its never happened even under circumstances where it might be considered (the actual civil war, ww2). EMP attack by whom? that doesnt sound like something that would lead to civil war unless it was carried out by some huge (suicidal) resistance movement. no organization on earth is capable of "crashing the net" or "turning it off". ok so egypt tried with the collusion of every egyptian ISP in an unprecedented way, but they didn't destroy any infrastructure and it was an economic and political disaster (they also avoided a civil war, if narrowly). the only thing you mentioned that seems remotely plausible is a class war. but i'm a socialist |

do you know how the internet works? because the whole idea behind the internet is that if you shut off part of it, it just gets redirected through other parts. so theoretically its true you can shut down the internet, but its extremely difficult and extremely unlikely due to the heavy dependency of commerce and modern communications relying on some form of internet connectivity. it would be in the governments best interest to not shut down the internet, but instead to use it to gather even more information about it's perceived enemies. which is actually a thing that it is doing. |

Could damn well happen.in fact as I watch this documentary, isn't that what the first civil war was in a nut shell? Oh sure, that and a centralized government.but even Lincoln said it was never about the slaves, but who owned slaves and lorded it over white share croppers?[Slaves you can't legally rape and beat] It was these rich and greedy Euro bred fucks living in all these white marble mansions which still dot the South to this day.To modernize things, the corporate overlords and the political shills. it sort of became the war about slavery during the war. lincoln used slavery as political dice to rally the federal army. they were much more willing to die if they viewed themselves as liberators instead of guys shooting dumb hick kids. it was definitely about slavery though |

I wish I could find it online, Lincoln himself said: If I thought for one moment this war was only about slavery,I would hand Lee my sword myself. Freeing them was a good win/win however.I love peanuts and lawnmowers!we would have neither without free blacks.Washing machines and traffic lights are cool too but we all have our favorites. |

yeah you can say all you want that it was about preserving the union and it was but it's disingenuous to say that maintaining slavery wasn't the reason why the confederacy formed and the primary cause of the war. it always sounds like an attempt to sugarcoat history. to think, our ancestors lived in a world without peanuts and lawnmowers. god bless you black people |
