Hey, it might be a good idea to check the discussion thread once it's up. :3

WITHOUT FURTHER ADO, LET'S BEGIN.

"W-what? How was I too late?!"

A red furred vixen with black hair was at the evacuation point, where the last transport out of the city had left only minutes ago. The evacuation point was on top of a mall, which was already being overrun by the Infected. She looked around, seeing a few first aid kits on a table, and on another one a pile of weapons probably left behind by evacuees, since the military probably didn't want them to be armed while on their evac carrier ships.

The vixen sighed, looking over the city skyline. Flames were on the horizon, as well as a storm... it was still sunny out for now, but that storm would come, and it looked huuuuuuge... "... I can't be the only one here..." She sat down against a nearby air conditioning unit, looking at the staircase that lead up to the roof.

Another vixen, silver in color with shining white hair flips onto the roof, sarcastically speaking to herself. "Never try to climb the side of a building full of Infected again," she states rolling her eyes. She takes a look at her surroundings and instantly becomes quiet as she sees another vixen up on the roof with her. "Oh, hello there," she timidly states as she walks up to greet the other vixen, her cheeks blushing at her sarcastic appearance upon first reaching the roof.

In a deserted section of a mall, a small beam of light appeared in thin air. The yellow light expanded quickly, causing nearby items to rumble and shake. A small ring was heard as the light turned from yellow to blue, and a huge gust of wind broke into the room, from what appeared to be a vortex. A couple of items flew in from the vortex, including some shrubbery, a shovel and an old boot.

"WHOA!" a monkey tumbled out of the swirling hole, collapsing in a heap on the floor. He slowly got up and dusted himself off.

"Well.....got myself out of that situation in the nick of time. I gotta remember they really don't appreciate grave diggers in 1932." The simian put a hand on his chin and looked around curiously.

"Okay Jake....where are you buddy? Didn't have time to set a destination into the Octus...." Jake glanced down at his time piece. He had been sent to a random time. Wouldn't hurt to check where.

The monkey cocked an eyebrow as he looked at the date.

".....Wait a second......wait just a second. If memory serves me, something good did not happen during this year........what was it?" he murmured.

A loud moan was suddenly heard from behind him. Jake spun around seeing an odd gray monster lumber quickly in his direction.

".....it was probably that." He said casually before taking off in the other direction.

Unfortunately, not everyone in that Mall was friendly. On that roof was a small, makeshift tower at the end of various debris, air conditioning coolants, and vents, once in awhile there being an infected or survivor's body with ehir heads of chests blown apart. Surrounding the tower were sandbags, a tarp roof, and some barbed wire. What was under this tower? A fire escape door, marked up with the white signs that would signal a safe room from the infected! Just like the news reports said when the outbreak first got bad! It looked perfect... almost too perfect.

They were right.

"Look alive..." the spotter murmered to his comrade, a fellow Cornerian sniper. He looked through his binoculars at the survivors some distance away. "Targets on the roof, mark three, two female, one male, about 36 yards..."

This roof was already a killzone. The two snipers were ordered to shoot to kill... and they weren't discriminating. Zombie and Survivor alike were to be shot, and now it seemed our group of three were next in line. "Get the shot ready if they come this way... looks like they have supplies." While we wait for our friend (OOC: Nick) to sight in, let's see what this perfect getaway is, shall we? Along with the two crazed snipers on the roof, most of the debris offering cover is rigged with high explosive anti-personnel mines, apparent by the chunks of roof and scorched spots in a few places. The bodies, hoping it would be easy kills against infected looking for an easy meal, are also booby-trapped. Getting to the HAM radio in the tower with them, he had it hooked up to the Mall intercom system. "You three are trespassing in Cornerian Military territory. Trespassers will be shot!"

Of course, the loud intercom announcement alerted a horde of infected nearby, charging into the mall. Eventuall they'll likely make their way to the roof. Now it's either try to get past the deathtrap that is the snipers' killzone, or try to fend off the horde. The way up to the tower was heavily barricaded with scrap metal and wooden planks, the only way up being a rope bridge that the snipers had with them at the top. Not very good options... and the story just started!

"Oh good lord, you have got to be kidding me..." the red vixen facepalmed. "I think those idiots up there don't realize that we just missed the last ship off of this planet. Shouldn't the military, I don't know, be trying to help us?"

She groaned, going to the table. She had hoped to have seen a blaster rifle here, but there was nothing of the sort. Just a bunch of various home defense weapons, all civilian blasters, though one model particularly caught her eye... a sort of blaster shotgun, which had a recharging battery that was set to output tons of tiny energy shots. She gladly took it.

"Oh, not that it matters since we're gonna get murdered soon, but my name's Dana." She said to the vixen that had just gotten to the roof, giving her a whimsical smile.

Vixie gingerly steps toward the red vixen, her movements precise. Once she gets closer to her to see the weapons does she say something else. "What do you mean?" she asks looking around. There weren't any Infected up there, so what else could she be talking about? The silver vixen reaches out and grabs a couple blaster pistols, checking their weights out before selecting one. "I'm Vixie," she adds, trying to remain courteous despite the grave situation.

As Jake ran as fast as he could down the malls interior, he noticed other monsters popping up from various areas and joining in the chase.

"You three are trespassing in Cornerian Military territory. Trespassers will be shot!" crackled from his communicator.

"Oh great." Jake puffed as the monsters gained on him. "Because this situation is so perfect already."

One of the monsters came in close enough to grab at the back of his neck. He missed narrowly and the monkey sped up, trying to flee for his life. He spotted a nearby food court and ran toward it. Vaulting over the counter he turned around to see hundreds of zombies bearing down on him.

"Sorry! Kitchen's closed!" Jake yelled excitably as he pulled the food court cage downwards, slamming it onto the counter. He quickly took out his his gadget spreading his special glue in a linear pattern over the wire work. The monsters desperately tried to break in, as he put his gadget back in the inside of his jacket pocket.

Jake looked at them curiously before spotting a staircase door behind him and walking through it.

Another look through the binoculars showed that the three trespassers were arming themselves! A visible threat! Quickly, the spotter grabbed his knife, a blaster pistol, and an assault rifle, lowering down the rope bridge. "I'll keep my radio on me. The cleanup crew could be here at any time, and we can't have any rogue elements. Anything comes on this roof without the safe word being spoken on the radio, blast them..." he told the sniper before climbing down. Once he made it down to the rooftop, a few aparaoid zombies that had wandered onto the roof were charging at him, only to be torn apart by the boobytraps that were laid out for them, the explosions shaking the mall, but not doing too much structural damage. Once the way was clear and rifle was in hand and loaded, the spotter proceeded onward, keeping his eyes open.

"Trespassers will be shot... trespassers will be shot... trespassers will be shot-" he repeated to himself over and over again as he went.

Jake walked up the stairs quickly thinking about what had crackled from his communicator earlier. The person on the other line had said "three". Maybe there were some others around here...

The monkey quickly reached the roof, looking around for any signs of life. He saw two vixens: A red one and a silver one. Both of them seemingly talking to each other. Jake walked toward them casually.

"Oh hello. I don't suppose you two would be surprised to know there's an army of killer zombies downstairs would you?" The simian spoke as if he was engaging them in normal conversation.

Vixie whips around and crouches, the current blaster pistol in her paw aimed at the simian with deadly intent. "Who are you?" she asks somewhat timidly. She aims her blaster down, but doesn't put it in her empty holster until she was sure this monkey was safe.

Jake put his hands up quickly.

"WHooa! Let's not get trigger happy!" he urged. "Especially since there's a heck of a lot uglies downstairs so intent on killing us already......well intent on killing me anyway. They're not friends of yours are they?"

This would have had to be the twentieth time he got a reaction like this. People didn't like odd strangers appearing out of nowhere after all.

The vixen lowers her blaster pistol even more. putting it away even. "Apologies, it's better safe than sorry with these guys." she says as she stands back up. "Welcome to our roof of doom, come grab a weapon, maybe some supplies," she adds directing Jake to the supplies area.

"Yeah, you're gonna need a gun. Those monsters down there are what we tried to run from, but we didn't catch the military evacuation in time." Dana said to the simian. "Plus, there's some military remnants still here or something. Saying we're trespassing? I say we find them and give them a good reality check, first things first."

"And, no, those things in the mall are not our friends."

"Is it just you two, or are there any others?" Jake asked looking at the amount of weapons that were collected. He picked up two riffles, and held them in the air inspecting them closely. He was also thinking about the message that had crackled over his communicator as well. Yet again.....he had somehow found himself in a very dire situation.

The spotter had gotten to the stairwell that lead up to their portion o the roof. Around the upper area of the mall was a balcony that he found himself on, looking down at the three survivors, now armed and colaborating. "Contact!" the man shouted into his communicator before rising the assault rifle to his shoulder and raining down rounds on the survivors. not terribly accurate right now, if main focus being to try and scatter them or see if they had any intention of actually using those weapons.

He only hoped his partner would have his back if he needed him to come down from the tower. But for now, he trusted he was keeping a good watch at the roof. He was always focused, that one, and had quite the trigger finger.

But now what were our survivors to do? Infected were swarmign the area, this crazed gunman was shooting at them, and they were running out of time! There had to be places in the mall other than the saferoom being guarded on the roof that was safe and secure.
