*A flashback to the time just before the events of Star Fox Assault, but just after the event of Star Fox Adventures*

The military tribunal assembled. General Pepper sat at the podium, and the special prosecutor stood before him. Peppy Hare sat in the witness seat, as the members of the CDF sat in the room, both as a jury pool of 12, and as members of the audience. Captain Shears, wearing an orange prison jumpsuit and body shackle system, was escorted in by two armed Military Police officers, and his lawyer, a raccoon, stood beside him.

General Pepper spoke. "This Court Martial, and Military tribunal, will commence! Captain Koojeaux Shears, you stand here today, accused of numerous counts of treason, corruption, and several counts of personnel abuse, sexual harassment, theft, perjury, spitting on the sidewalk, and (worst of all) Tax Evasion!!! How does the defendant plead?".

The raccoon lawyer piped up "I believe it would be on his knees, with his hands clasped, but he can't get onto his knees with the body shackles, so..." the lawyer was cut off by General Pepper "No! I mean how does the defendant plead in terms of his legal situation?" General Pepper wheezed. "Oh, that thing where you didn't do it...not guilty?" said the raccoon. Captain Shears snorted in disgust.

"Very well then! Let the argument for the prosecution begin!" said General Pepper.

The special prosecutor called witnesses, presented witnesses (including Fox McCloud, who was briefly there), Peppy Hare, and many CDF soldiers. He cited case precedents, and presented an airtight prosecution. As for the defense council, he bungled and fumbled Captain Shears' case. "....and that's where babies come from!" he concluded. "What the bloody hell does that have to do with Captain Shears' case!?" shouted General Pepper. "Oh...is that what we're still talking about?" said Captain Shears's defense lawyer. "YES!" shouted everyone in the room, including Captain Shears. "Oh...I move for a....bad...trial...thingy." said the defense lawyer. "Do you mean a mistrial!?" said General Pepper. "Yeah! That one!" said the defense lawyer.

"DENIED" said General Pepper loudly, banging the gavel.

After deliberation by the jury pool, Captain Shears was found...

"Guilty!" said General Pepper, reading the verdict. He then said "Captain Shears, you are hereby Dishonorably Discharged from the Cornerian Defense Forces, the Lylat Federation Government, and you will serve a life sentence, without any possibility of pardon, release, or parole. You will serve you sentence in Staja #84, on Planet Macbeth!" General Pepper banged the gavel. "Court adjourned." he said.

*hours later*

Captain Shears was brought to the Prison on Planet Macbeth.

He was brought before the Head Prison Guard, who processed Captain Shears while another guard took his personal effects.

Head Prison Guard: "One Half Bar of chocolate!"
Prison Guard: *writes this down*
Head Prison Guard: "One Packet of Cigarettes!"
Prison Guard: *writes this down*

Head Prison Guard: *takes out an envelope* "One Cornerian Credits coin piece! One pocket comb, black hard rubber! One fountain pen in a carbon fiber case! One face watch, self winding, 'Timerist' wrist watch, silver metal on expanding bracelet band! One Key Wallet, imitation red leather with bunch of keys! Please sign here for your valuable property! The tobacco and the chocolate, you will lose that, as you are now convicted! " said the head Prison Guard as he sealed the envelope and confiscated the chocolate. The prison guard who wrote down everything that belonged to Captain Shears took the sealed envelope and had Captain Shears sign for the personal effects.

As Captain Shears was taken over to the table, he was forced to change from his Metro Jail jumpsuit, and was interviewed by the head guard to ask if he had any illnesses, allergies, etc. After all of the questions were answered, Captain Shears received his bath, delousing powder, prison clothes, and bedding...

*Years later, now in the present day*

Reporter: "Recent events with the CDF budget, have forced several prisons to relocate their inmates to the frontier world of Planet Venom! Federation Directive 33560A, the mass exporting and outsourcing of all of the Lylat Systems worst criminals. The proposal will remove all of the high level criminals of the Lylat System, and relocate them to the prison colonies that have been constructed on Planet Venom. The "Prison Staff" will be mostly relegated to robotic and computer automation. It was voted into action by the Federation Representatives, to ease the overcrowding of prisons and penal colonies throughout the Lylat System. Many suspect that bribery by prison contractors and development companies helped to pass this motion by a slim margin."

General Pepper: "There is no other option left. Our prisons are overcrowded, and we simply lack the proper resources to expand them, let alone maintain the existing facilities. I don't like this myself, but the Federation has exhausted all other options!"

Reporter: "This controversial endeavor by the Federation has many speculating that kickbaks, bribery, and other forms of civil conspiracy were involved, though there is no evidence yet to support it. Many citizens fear that exporting so many high level criminals, among them including former CDF Captain Koojeaux Shears, is a grievous error."

Fox: "What the hell are they THINKING! There are plenty of frontier territories on planets like Fichina! The very cold is the best measure of keeping inmates from escaping, let alone too cold and miserable to plot any trouble!" *an angry crowd agrees with him in loud rabble*

Captain Shears was sitting in his prison cell unit, in a beat up, poorly constructed bunkhouse on Planet Venom. He didn't go outside when he could help it, due to the noxious atmosphere of Planet Venom. But ever since he arrived here with the other inmates, he was plotting his revenge against the CDF. "Sir!" an inmate entered his room. "Yes?" said Captain Shears. "Star Wolf came through for us, we have the stuff." said the inmate. A sneer curled on Captain Shears lips. "Won't be long NOW!" he gloated.

"Five credits says that the move to Venom is gonna end in tears."

The gray skinned, white haired shark girl was at a Cornerian cafe, suitcase sitting by her side, cup of coffee in one gloved hand and the menu in the other. She was watching the news on the cafe TV. She wasn't talking to anyone in particular, just muttering to herself.

"Computers can be hacked, and I guarantee they've got geeks with criminal records on that prison colony lookin' for a way out." She adjusts the black turtleneck she's wearing. "I'll see if I can get assigned if the worst happens ... fat chance, considering they'd probably rather have the prisoners alive." She sighs and leans back.

She couldn't be further away from Venom now and yet she still worried...

Meanwhile on a Cantina On the desert planet Titania a sand blasted Vixen sat at a booth whatching the news. "Wonder whose the sorry workers that built that complex in that planet surrounded by green mist eyrie mist." The Vixen muttered to herself, finishing her meal.

In the same Cantina on the other side of the room in another booth with very dark grey almost black fur another Vixen sat watching the TV on the other side of the Catina. Playing with a french fry in her fingers she thought about what the reporter had said. "putting all those high risk Criminals in one spot is just asking for trouble." The dark grey vixen muttered.

* * * ELSEWHERE, ON DRAGON'TAAN * * *

DMC General Draco Bellator was working on his lightsaber - the Vindicator hilt - when he paused.

"Are you alright?" asked K'torr, who was standing nearby.

"I... sense a disturbance in the Force," Draco answered. K'torr paused, closing his eyes momentarily.

"I sense it, as well," he said. "I think... this is something to do with the a situation over in Lylat, Universe 05."

Draco reassembled the Vindicator hilt. "Then why haven't you gone?" he asked.

"Because my attention is needed here; General Zaariin is an ambitious man, and I promised General Indari I'd be here if he made a move against Dragon'taan."

"And Vokun is still researching that project?" Draco queried.

"He is," K'torr affirmed. "You're the only one who can help Lylat at this point - everyone else is busy. Draco finished reassembling his Vindicator Lightsaber and activated it. The Black-Core Blue blade sprang to life. Draco twirled it a bit, then deactivated it. He went into his communicator and gave his orders:

"General Bellator to DMCS Crusader - ready Strike Fleet Gamma. We're heading to Lylat."

"I'm guessing you felt that disturbance in the Force," Kira's voice replied.

Draco took a shuttle to the Crusader - a Predator-class Battlecruiser, like the Iron Regent - and the ship, with it's attendant strike fleet, opened a TDIG Rift to Corneria...

Something caught the attention of Rae her ears perking she opened a private channel to the nearest DMC ship the nearest being the Iron Regent. "This is DMI Lieutenant Citcra to nearest DMC ship, I'm getting the odd feeling someone just warped into the Lylat system, What's up?" She asked, looking to the light on the communcator that was latched to her belt that had come on.

A fat pig (literally) by the name of Dan Nerdly was at his computer workstation on Bolse. He wore khaki pants, a tacky cheap shirt, and big eyeglasses. His infectious laugh burst out as he watched the computer screen, and used his hand grip exercise tool. "Nerdly!" said the Warden. "Yes?" asked Dan. "We're having some glitches throughout the compounds! Why are the features for the mobile transport ground vessels running off of the battery power, and not the main track power?" asked the Warden, hands on his hips, his decorative purpose set of jailer keys on the ring clinking gently.

"It's gonna be a while before we can fix everything, you're gonna have problems with a complex computer system like this! I have the automation set up so you can run this thing on 'auto pilot' for up to 3 days....you think this kind of automation is easy....or CHEAP!?" said Nerdly. "You have my SYMPATHIES for your financial problems, Nerdly, but bear in mind, they're YOUR financial problems!" said the Warden.

"It's not a matter of money, more like a fair trade." said Dan Nerdly. "I WILL NOT GET INTO ANOTHER FINANCIAL DEBATE WITH YOU AGAIN, I will not!" said the Warden angrily. "....hardly a debate at all!" said Nerdly. "I don't blame people for their mistakes, but I do ask that they pay for them." the Warden replied.

Meanwhile, Fox was at McCloud Ranch, watching the news. "Idiots, they're all idiots except for Pepper. He agreed with me about Fichina! But noooo, it was all about the kickbacks!" Fox said. Todd let out a gross burp as he finished a beer. "What did I tell ya'!? The system fails again." he sneered.

Niko pays for her coffee and decides to just get a cinnamon roll, leaving and walking out onto the street, carrying her suitcase as she slips a pair of sunglasses out from her pocket, putting them on, and then her communicator phone vibrated...

She answers. "Whaaaaaat?! Did the prison go south alrea-- oh, seriously. Come on, you KNOW that's a terrible idea--- OK, don't go unzippin' your pants and flingin' your rank around. Now get on with it."

"Uh huh."

"Yeah."

"A ship just... warped in? Without warning or clearances... and what do you want me to do about it?"

Soon, she's on a shuttle with a few other soldiers bar the pilot, gearing up. Cool red cloak, check. Power sword and mono-blade? Check. Oversized chainsaw sword? Yup. Blasters? Already in the suitcase.

"Now, remember. This isn't an official mission by any means. We're just going to say hi and see if whomever's on it is friendly or not..." "Ma'am, why are you taking ... all of your gear?" "It's... it's for intimidation factor, shut up."

Soon they're on their way to say hello to that Battlecruiser. Niko effortlessly devours her cinnamon bun thanks to her very sharp teeth, then goes to open communications...

"Unidentified ship, this is CDF Agent Easton, identify yourself immediately and tell us what you're doing here, or we're going to come over there and kick your asses up and down the entire ship and then discuss your intentions."

"Ma'am, that isn't the script---" "Screw the script! These guys need to be told what to expect."

The comm channel burped with static, then a voice could be heard. "... Agent Easton, this is General Draco Bellator of the DMCS Crusader, Dragon'taan Marauder Corps... and it's generally not a good idea to threaten a DMC ship as soon as you come in contact with one; that's a quick way to be considered a threat. I apologize if I inadvertently startled anyone - traveling through TDIG Rifts is the best and fastest way to travel between parallel 'verses. Would you mind coming aboard my ship so we may discuss my reasons for being here in private?"

(EDIT: Julius, why did I get a Jurassic Park reference in your post? lol)[edit_reason]Something I spotted[/edit_reason]

"My bad. I wasn't sure if this was gonna be another Andross thing or not. Better safe than sorry."

She looks to her crew. "Well, ain't got nothin' better to do. We'll be in your docking bay shortly, and I'll leave my soldiers on board the shuttle. Wish you coulda met a better ambassador than me, but here I am. Also, I have two blaster pistols, two swords and a very large sword, just a heads up."

"Ma'am, I'm not sure where the docking bay is..." "Let me guess. First week on the job?" "Yes, ma'am." "Lovely. I think I see it over there anyway..."

Barring any interruption, they land within the DMCS Crusader, and Niko comes down the ramp. Her two paired swords are sheathed in an X shape on her back, partially hidden by her cloak, but the big 'ol chainsaw sword's hilt was right behind her head, very obvious. No suitcase, for she had holstered her pistols.

"Whew. Some ship."

Standing in the hangar where the shuttle landed was a fire team of DMC soldiers - one Kemorainian (anthro-cobra), one Dragonarian (anthro-dragon without wings), One human, and one human with dragon eyes. The human with dragon eyes spoke:

"Agent Easton - Sergeant Harrison, Crusader Security force. We've been ordered to escort you to the briefing room, ma'am. This way."

Sgt. Harrison began to lead Niko to the briefing room...

The shark follows, acting as if this was a completely normal thing. Of course, she'd never actually seen a human before, or even knew what a human was to begin with... what was he, a monkey? A monkey with scary eyes, sure... the other monkey fellow didn't have scary eyes.

"Nice to meet ya, Sarge." is all she says, keeping any comments about whether his eyes were real or just contact lenses to herself.

"Don't mind the eyes," Harrison says back, "I'm a dragon-shifter. Eyes like this are common in *all* dragon-shifters - it's how one tells the difference between a normal person and a dragon-shifter." He and his fire team lead Niko to the briefing room, where Harrison greeted the human in the odd set of armor with a hooded brown cloak and a visor covering his eyes. "General Bellator, sir!"

"Thank you sergeant - come in, agent Easton," the human said. Sergeant Harrison and his team left, leaving the human alone with Niko. The human offered an armored hand. "General Draco Bellator, Dragon'taan Marauder Corps," he introduced himself.

"Krystal!" Fox jumped, not seeing her behind him and Todd. "Hey Krystal." said Todd.

Dan Nerdly was talking on a secure line to one of the inmates. "We got a dust storm rolling in, should give you enough cover to send down an escape pod full of weapons, key cards, and prison uniforms. We can use this stuff once Star Wolf uses a small transport logistics ship to bring us aboard. They'll be coming the same time your stuff does. We paid you half of the $1,500,000 Credits, you'll get the other half after all this is successful." said the inmate.

"Yeah-yeah-yeah, I talked to your friend over at that cafe in Zoness, he gave me the 'up front' money...look, how much time of a window will I have with this dust storm, it looks bigger than I thought?" said Dan.

"Well, the storm is larger than expected, you may only have a 10 minute window before it gets too intense for us to find what you drop!" said the inmate.

"Nononononono, you have to give me more time than that! Look, I told your friend at the cafe, 'I need at least an 18 minute window, 15 at the least!' This could ruin everything! You've got to have the guys hold off for another 5 minutes!" said Dan Nerdly.

"No promises!" said the inmate, before cutting communications.

Dan sighed and got to work on his hacker program, to disable the Bolse Defense Station, and to disable the defense and containment systems all over the prison on the surface of Venom.
