![]() Grenadier+ | canadianxeno of deviantArt "Kaboom, motherfucker!" Name: Andrei Drexen Erdrik Sodervall Homeworld: Taris Nickname/Alias: The Red Bloom, Zero-Nine, Big Nine Date of Birth: 28 ABY Faction: Independent Rank: N/A Species: Human Height: 6'3" (6'6" armored) Weight: Yes, a lot. Hair Color: Brown with sprinkles of blonde. Skin Color: Fair. Appearance: Though only somewhat related to his monstrous appearance, one of the primary characteristics noticeable in him would be his unusual accent, which mimics the stressed consonants and pinched vowels of a Russian accent of our time. If asked upfront, he will always laugh and blame his parents, though the origin of their accent is just as much a mystery. Many speculate that he is not of entirely human blood, and is instead some kind of human/near-human crossbreed. Or, more likely, that he was raised speaking two highly different languages. He is a giant, undeniably affected by his lifelong commitment to a healthy diet and his favorable genetics. Both of these factors have also contributed positively to his body's physical status, which is that of a body in perfect health. He is muscular and has a strong, dense, wide skeleton. Underneath the tailored helmet which is rarely removed, one can observe that he is far from male model material. His jawline is square and angular, his nose wide and flat, and his eyebrows merge into a single length of fur above his eyes. While I'm on the subject of hair, it's worth mentioning that most of his body his covered in the stuff - arms, legs, nethers, knuckles, shoulders, back, and even his heart. Especially his heart. Personality: Andrei is not a difficult man to know; there are no ulterior motives nor hidden agendas. The ancient adage "what you see is what you get" applies particularly well to him. He is honest to a definite fault, and lacks any kind of political or social savvy. He is a generally jovial soul, making light of any situation. He is neither optimist nor pessimist. He lives entirely in the moment, with only the foresight to mull over which employer can pay him the best. Though he is the definition of an extrovert, he prefers to work alone. This does not mean that he will refuse to work on a team to show off his demolition skills. He cares not for the chain of command, nor for the possession of authority. Such aloofness often grants him unintended authority as an act of itself. He is a talker. He has survived dozens of close encounters and stared Death in the face numerous times. He is eager to tell anybody about this fact. War stories, stories of his childhood, obsolete information about the Vong, opinions nobody asked for - any of them are liable to spout from Andrei's mouth at any given moment. This leaves him less popular with some, and more popular with others. But popularity is not a concern of his. Payment is. He greatly prioritizes his physical well-being. His diet is a balanced one, as well as a minimalistic one. He believes in forcing one's body to "thrive on starvation." Starches and vegetables at breakfast, more vegetables mid-day, and meats (and more vegetables) at night - this has been his regiment since before his leaving of Pallaxides. If he is not receiving physical exercise as a byproduct of active missions or bounties, he will do push-ups aboard his YT-1930 when he has the time. Weaknesses and Strengths: Strengths - Extremely fit. Agile, quick, and strong like bull. - Well-equipped and monetarily sound. - Great at what he does. A talented marksman. - Possesses fast reaction time, as well as a niche for timing things correctly. - Brazen, bold and brave. Andrei has a short list of fears, and neither death nor injury are on it. This is also a weakness. Weaknesses - He is not exactly a tactician. He certainly employs a well-rounded knowledge of his own equipment, as well as of explosives and weapons in general, his knowledge stops there. He is slightly naive, in spite the persistent factor of his many years under fire. - Though he very much enjoys piloting, he is a terrible pilot. He has crushed a handful of private and corporate starships that he swore weren't there when he looked the first time. - His general aloofness and lack of professionalism make him a risky hire. - Has zero desire to expand his knowledge of the Force, and is in fact a little afraid of the outcome thereof. He is aware of his Force sensitivity, but associates the feeling of channeling the Force with vertigo and nausea. Force Sight comes to him naturally. - He has trouble keeping his mouth shut - even on infiltration assignments. - His beloved bombsuit makes stealth impossible. The shuffling of material (as well as the weight of his boots) mean that anybody can hear him coming. Equipment - The Red Bloom: A highly customized weapon resembling a modern grenade launcher. Mounted with laser sight and 6" bayonet. Fires pressure-sensitive thermal detonators which explode on contact. Holds 8 projectiles before reload is required. - Remotely-detonated thermal charge packs for exploding on the go, kept along the ammo belt. Only two can be mounted at a time. These are expensive, so Andrei tries to avoid using them. - Matte black vibronkife. Blade is kept sharp, but the vibration function is fading. - Custom dual-reinforced bombsuit with ceramic outer armor (pauldrons, collar, etc) encased in a layer of heat-resistant kevlex, and light durasteel under the forest-green fire-retardant durafiber sleeving. Feet are lined with durasteel along the toe and ankle, followed by a gel padding for cooling, which also lines the upper back, arms, and neck sections. - Ceramic and dursteel-alloy helmet encased in kevlex with military-grade transglass visor. Doubles as face breather. Visor can be pressure-sealed. - Utility belt with multitude of storage pouches. Extra ammunition, emergency rations, a small supply of bacta patches, a multitool and a generic multipurpose power cell are, among other things, stored here. - Magnetic ammo belt lined with inactive rounds for Red Bloom; grenades can be removed and loaded with ease. - Sidearm holstered along his outer right thigh: matte-black (painted) Bryar pistol. - YT-1930 transport ship. Force Powers - Force Sight (Moderate) History: Andrei Dexen Erdrik Sodervall was born in 28 ABY on a relatively new settlement near the wilds of Taris. He was born in a time where the Vong were still a considerable threat. Taris had been ravaged by misfortune in days long past, and since the effortless occupation of the invaders, its bad luck streak was reconfirmed. At first, the Vong occupied the planet and made use of it for no more than a hub. Once the war had ended, and most of the Taris-bound Vong gone in self-exile, the planet saw peace for another few years. In 34 ABY, with Andrei at the tender age of six (and his younger brother conceived only three months prior), a well-armed raiding party of Vong skirmishers made itself known by beginning a campaign across Taris' eastern continent - the same continent which the Sodervall clan, comprised of a loving and bright mother and her equally loving yet disproportionately dim husband, occupied. The Federation responded quickly to distress calls, and visited Andrei's small settlement personally, demanding that the civilians evacuate. The militia that they sent seemed more than well-equipped; Andrei would later recall two Mandalorian mercenaries, as well as several decorated soldiers of the Federation. So came his inspiration to join the Federal military. His and the remaining settlements of Taris were moved arbitrarily to the beautiful world of Pallaxides. This was a period where Andrei would develop his love for athletics, for weaponry, and for technology. He would live a basic life, collecting things like knives and parts of weapons where he could. He developed a particular fascination for explosives in his mid teens, when reading of Galactic history and the multitude of wars behind it. The desire for explosives, and his innate respect for military personnel, had him convinced to enlist with the Galactic Alliance Defense Force the second he came of age. He was assigned personnel number 09B53145G (the first two digits from this are where he derives his favored nickname). His father and brother swelling with pride, and his mother tearfully withholding her desire against his absence, Andrei was sent to Corellia to begin training. In basic training, Andrei's true colors showed. Of his unit, he was the top marksman, at prone and standing positions and at all distances. In fact, distance of the target seemed to make little difference at all; Sodervall's CO often accused him of "Jedi bullshit" and would have him push for it. PFTs would have him score no less than a 96.4 average for all exercises. He was the best, and he loved being the best. The rigid structure and constant hostility of the militaristic life would not suit Sodervall for long, however. He was stationed at Corellia for three years and kept on reserve. His unit saw activation just after his third anniversary, and he and a small team (the team was comprised of only four individuals) were sent to remove a small Vong presence on the world of Phaeda. He and his squad performed the task perfectly, but Andrei's carelessness cost the arm, leg, and facial skin of one of his squad's members. Sodervall was dishonorably discharged. However, he received a generous stipend for his thorough work on Phaeda: enough to sustain on for at least three standard decades. In fact, the agreement he signed had him legally bound to make the credits last for at least 25 years. On top of that, though he could draw from the funds for emergencies, he would suffer penalty charges for doing so after the passing of a six-month grace period. He immediately used the funds to purchase a capable starship and to have custom weapons, armor and tech made for him. Enter the life of a mercenary. He began work immediately by doing it the Andrei way; he flew to the infamous Tatooine, asked around for a Hutt, explained his desire for work, and was immediately employed ... on guard duty. He was upgraded by his employer to the status of hit man, briefly, before collateral damage wound up having the Hutt targeted, found, and arrested. Sodervall's veteran status gave him fortunate exemption. His noisy yet respected line of work continued for quite some time, earning him a reputation among rival mercenaries and potential employers, as well as a large sum of credits over his career. In 54 ABY, he finally opted to take a standard year's vacation from the life of a hired gun. He could hardly stand still, but it gave his body much-needed solace. Once the year had elapsed, he flew to Tatooine once again to resume the life he envisioned; the life he desired. The life he'd never give up. Edited by Ghostwork, Apr 17 2012, 09:34:18 AM.

Some of the profile is in russian. Did not know if you you knew that or not. While the history does explain a very small portion of what his background is we require that it be written in third person. So, instead of Andrei saying it, the profile would be narrated by you. Also it wouldn't hurt to elaborate on some his tech as well. TurboDense? |

That's cool, I was hating the dialogue I wrote anyway. ![]() TurboDense thing is a joke, but I'll flesh the tech out. This is in the WIP forum for good reason. |

I think he's all ready, but I'd like a staff member to give him a final once-over before I post it as complete, if that's okay. Probably going to submit tech applications for his custom stuff, but if it needs more fleshing, I can give it more fleshing. Sorry if I missed anything! |
