New Sith Order
Year: 62 ABY

Galvin sat quietly trying to understand exactly why is why the Jedi masters had decided to send him and Kash Bardack on a mission after a Rogue force user. They were both Padawans, though they were perfectly clear that Kash was to take the lead on this, both due to his age and his experience as a diplomat. It made sense to give him the lead on the mission, but why send them both on this? Surely Kash would have been able to handle talking to this rogue force user alone? Galvin could usually make some sense of the things that the masters asked him to do, but this?

He looked over at the other Padawan, unsure of what to make of him. Galvin hadn’t known Kesh before being paired with him, and hadn’t bothered to do any digging on him. Training had taken up much of his time, especially since he was going off world for the first time since he had been taken off Dathomir all those years ago. If Galvin was going to go somewhere he wanted to make damn sure that he was at the top of his game. Of course they weren’t supposed to be fighting on this mission, simply talk to the person and see if they could be brought to join the Jedi Order. Why they had to do this was beyond him, it didn’t make sense to him to bring in those who could be dangerous. They should be put down, not given an option to join or told not to continue their line of work.

At least it wasn’t a sith, or known dark side user they were going after. If that was the case Galvin would likely not have been sent here at all. The memories of his years in the Night Brothers were still very fresh in his mind, and he thought that he knew the effects that the dark side could have on people. He didn’t want to risk exposing anyone to that, but that wasn’t his call to make. He was sent out here for a reason, and he could only hope that whatever it was the Jedi masters knew just what they were doing.

“Five minutes to docking.”

The voice over the intercom drew Galvin out of his thoughts; it would soon be time to begin hunting down and meeting with their target. He got up and ready to move, his padawan robes weighing heavily off of Ossuss, even though the gravity wasn’t all that different. This was his first time off of Ossuss in a long time, and he didn’t want to have to return with a failure under his belt. He looked over to Kesh, hoping the other padawan was more comfortable then he was in this.

“Let’s not keep our target waiting.”

New Jedi Order
Kash sat, his head buried deep in his hands, locked in concentration. A state which he had struggled to attain due to the hustle of the public shuttle heading to Corellia. In his head, the Imperial was pondering the reasons why one would leave the Jedi order. Apart from retiring or being exiled, he struggled to think of a peaceful reason for parting ways with the peacekeepers of the galaxy. Kash hoped that the person he had been sent after had not descended to the Darkside as his primary weapon, negotiation, would be rendered completely useless leaving him to use other, less practiced methods.

Kash glanced over to his partner, a man that he knew very little about, before breathing a sigh of relief. Galvin looked like the sort of Jedi that would fare well in a duel. Just the sort of person he needed following him around in case things got ugly. However he looked raw, inexperienced almost. At this point in time Kash had been on a fair few missions each with unique challenges to overcome. Challenges which have helped him grow into a better, more focused Jedi, an asset to the order.

The intercom blared out over the crowd of mix-matched spacefarers knocking the young man from his meditative state in time to hear Galvin speak. Choosing not to engage in conversation, Kash nodded slightly before rising to his feet. The planet of Corellia was a planet wrought with history and at the center of most large galactic conflicts over the past hundred years or so. The trademark Corellian spirit was something that Kash both respected and greatly detested. Coming from an Imperial family on Bastion, he was raised as the polar opposite of the free spirited Corellians instead valuing order and unity over individualism and capitalism. However as a Jedi, Kash strived to understand and accept people and ideas that he did not fully understand or necessarily agree with.

Emerging from the shuttle, his estranged partner in tow, would reveal the technological hustle of Coronet City, the capital of Corellia and the location their target was last seen. The mass of life made it hard for Kash to focus his thoughts let alone pin point any one person amidst the flood of life. It looked like they were going to have to do this the hard way. The briefing from the council had revealed that Jania Collum was last seen in the employment of the BlasTech Industries complex in the City, just a brisk walk away from the spaceport.

"Come. I find that visiting the place a person was last seen, more often then not, reveals clues as to where there are currently."

Galvin nodded at his partner, a very quiet man who apparently had nothing to say as they were getting ready to leave the public transportation. Apparently the quiet type, which was not what Galvin had hoped for in a partner. It was harder to read or know a person if they were quiet, and he wanted to know that this person was one that he could trust. Galvin wanted to make sure that he knew that this Kash person could trusted. Galvin didn’t see the warrior style in Kash, but he did notice a calm manor that the younger padawan seemed to lack. An air of experience and calm on this mission that Galvin just didn’t feel, of course this was his first time away from Ossuss since he had been taken off of Dathomir.

As they walked out of the public shuttle Galvin was completely taken aback by the size of the space port. He’d read that Corellia was a big planet for spaceports and ships, but this… Galvin hadn’t been ready for this. The space port was the size of a small city! Taking in a deep breath to try to calm down Galvin was struck by what seemed like a million different smells. He could smell the scent of the fuel from some of the engines, the unwashed stink of people who had nothing but the clothes on their backs. It was a little overwhelming but he was able to hold himself together as he walked off the shuttle and simply told himself to keep moving with the crowd.

Galvin heard Kash suggest going to the last place their target had been seen, Blastech industries. Even so simply walking into blastech industries wouldn’t be a cake walk. The question became now how were they going to get into the building without causing a ruckus. Even so it would be simple to get over to the Blastech industries building and it was as good a place as any to start their search.

“I’ll follow you then Kash.”

They headed off toward the building, Galvin trying to go through what they could do in order to get past the front desk. Galvin couldn't think of anything that would get them in with talking, and going in with sabers drawn would only cause far more trouble than good. It wasn’t like just walking in they could demand to speak with their intended target. Even for a Jedi master it wouldn’t be possible to talk themselves into a building that created weapons. Besides which if the person they were after knew they were coming and reacted by fleeing it would be difficult to find them, and if they were practicing forbidden arts then it would be very possible that they would have to kill them.

Kash nodded ever so slightly to Galvin, barely acknowledging his existence. The Jedi was around average height and build for a male of his age yet he was completely unhindered by the swathes of people moving with and against him. He gained a sense of purpose when on a mission, like he had become unfazed and unaffected, almost instantly, by factors which would otherwise deter a person of normal stature. He carried on towards his objective which could now be seen protruding above the skyline simply assuming that his fellow Padawan followed closely behind him. Now assuming would not be the best way to put it. He could feel his partner, sense his echo through the force, his every footstep and heartbeat. So was the mystery of the force. For one could feel another even when shrouded by a cloud of other beings.

Coronet City was, by most standards, a fairly technologically advanced city. Far more so than Dantooine yet it paled in comparison to Coruscant. The BlasTech industry complex was arguably the most advance building this side of the golden beaches, towering far above the rest of its counterparts in a beautiful display of clean white lines and glass work. By making the building a smooth oval shape the designers allowed light to hit the glass on a number of angles as to highlight each curve and bend. A short smile appeared on Kash’s face, his first sign to his new partner of any emotion, before being quickly drowned in his usual serious brow.

”I hope you have a plan for getting us in, I don’t think they’ll just let us talk with the person we’re looking for”

“I have something premeditated.”

Kash’s words were stout, filled with the purpose. Coming on a mission like this with so many unpredictable factors without a strong, adaptable plan was foolhardy, bordering on reckless. Planning was something that Kash excelled at. Rarely did he leave the safety of Jedi ground without a predefined purpose and a tailor made plan covering the most likely outcomes with a fair amount of detail. He felt that knowing what he would do beforehand made him faster to react as he did not have to refer to his head to know what his next move was, he simply already knew it. Of course this extraordinary burst of speed or surge of instinct was not solely down to his planning. He lent a great deal of his quick thinking and instincts to his inherent aptitude in farsight. A skill Kash himself was still unaware of, drawing on it in times of great stress or danger.

As the pair strode closer to the beautiful building the crowd began to thin with the previous myriad of figures merging into men and women dressed for business adorned in suits and ties and such. Kash and his cohort, wearing Jedi robes, suddenly did not seem to blend in so well. Yet the Padawan did not let this faze him as he neared the several sets of gleaming automatic doors leading to the BlasTech Foyer.

Something premeditated? Galvin could only wonder at what this man had in mind that could work to get them through after Jania Collum. Galvin didn’t know what Kash had planned but his words sounded confident, of course that could just be an act. If it was an act than it was a damn good one, the young padawan looked like he could have been marching across a palace as if he owned the place. It was a confidence that Galvin wished he could match but just didn’t have in him to do; his own confidence was more centered in heat of the moment decisions. Galvin would have been more confident if he’d of been asked to storm some lair of a beast than with trying to talk his way through a situation. Maybe that was why he’d been sent with Kash, to make sure that he learned something about talking his way through a situation.

“Whatever this plan of yours is I hope that it’s a good one or we’re going to be in a lot of trouble when we find her.”

As they started up the stairs of the massive building Galvin tried very hard not to simply stare up in awe. He focused on smaller details so that he wouldn’t look like an idiot, for now that meant the automatic doors that were sliding in and out as he walked up to them. He put as much concentration as he could on those doors without looking like an idiot, frankly he felt like an idiot but he needed to make sure that he got through without seeming like some bumpkin from a backwater planet as long as he could. As they entered the doors and walked up to the desk Galvin once more chose to focus on something, this time being a simple data pad so that he wouldn’t look like he was trying to stare at someone.

Kash was focused, oozing confidence. After all this was his area of expertise. His eyes met with the young woman who was stationed at the reception to whom he extended a stern nod.

“Can I Help You Master Jedi?”
“Yes. We have an appointment with Miss Collum?”
“Ah Yes. Please, Right This Way”

The suited woman briskly rose from her seat glancing quickly at the two Jedi in turn before heading off down a series of corridors. The bustle of office chatter left a dull noise resonating through the air, one which made it hard for him to concentrate on pinpointing Jania. Through the mass of concentrated life Kash could barely feel her presence. He understood now why someone would seek a place like this as shelter from the force. The thoughts and feelings of so many people drowned out each other making it impossible to find something or someone you weren’t specifically searching for. The group grinned to a halt shortly before a closed door sat at the end of a long corridor. The silver name plate read "Executive Collum, Head of Weapon Design"

The woman escorting the two Jedi carefully opened the door before moving back to the edge of the doorway. "This Way Please"

Kash thanked the woman with a respectful bow before taking a few steps to cross into miss Collum's office. The wall directly opposite the door was essentially one piece of glass broke up by numerous metal rods to create a symmetrical tile like pattern. As a result a large amount of light was able to reach into the executive's office which was further enhanced by the white walls and decor scattered around the room. Towards the back, miss Collum sat at her desk, her chair was turned to face outside and away from the Jedi.

Kash glanced around, quickly noticing four peculiar shaped placements one each side of the elegant plastasteel desk and the other two directly above the first pair. He took another couple of strides forward so that he was stood just off the center of the room, his hands now placed smartly behind his back as he waited for his partner to enter the room.

Galvin watched Kash, surprised by the confidence that he showed in going to meet with their target. Of course Kash was likely used to meeting in situations similar to this, diplomatic relations and negotiations. It was far from the battlefields and training rooms that Galvin had learned his trade in. Galvin was glad that the other paladin was here, if it had been to him by now the façade would start to crack, and if the woman they were after was dangerous she would have seized upon that. As they came to the front there was a young woman behind the desk, Galvin let Kash do the talking, sure that his own voice would have cracked or betrayed his nervousness.

Galvin and Kash followed the young woman to the office of Jaina Collum, Galvin felt his instinctive training kick in. He kept his hands behind his back, appearing relaxed and glancing around the room to see what sort of decorations that miss Collum kept around her walls, in reality he was glancing around to make sure there were not any obvious defences ready to move. There were the strange things that seemed to sit behind her desk, but Galvin couldn’t make heads or tails of what they were. Kash seemed to be taking little chance and moved away from the center of the room. There didn’t appear to be anything obvious, but that didn’t mean she didn’t have something ready to use. Galvin did notice a second door close to her desk, more for emergency exit from the building than an escape route to be used. None the less he made sure to move himself over so that if she tried to bolt he would have a beeline to stop her from reaching the secondary exit.

As Kash went closer Galvin moved along the wall, eventually leaning against it for support, looking out the window as if observing the ongoing business of the city below, he gave a brief nod to Kash to let the other padawan know that he was ready for anything.
