Training:
In both lightsaber combat and Force abilities, Adryn has been trained in a fashion not dissimilar to most Jedi apprentices (due to the Jedi background of his tutor). Philosophically, he hasn’t received very much tutelage and instead has developed his own, which is based on most power being found in strength (mental and physical), and power being the apex of achievements.

History

The Sahn family was one that thrived financially in the Imperial era, with one of its most prominent and celebrated men, Tarsus Sahn, becoming an Admiral in the Imperial Navy. Over the decades Imperial power has dwindled, but Sahn pride has not. After the Yuuzhan Vong War and the formation of the Galactic Alliance, Tarsus Sahn declared himself an independent warlord from the Imperial remnant to avoid joining the New Republic that he despised so much. Ten years later, Tarsus became a grandfather to newly delivered Adryn Sahn.

Born on his mother’s homeplanet of Ord Cestus, Adryn Sahn spent his first eleven and a half years on the planet, once going on an expensive holiday to Serenno. These years brought Adryn his basic education and all the nurture and love that are expected to be given to any child.

A speeder-car hit Adryn’s mother at two hundred and fifteen miles an hour directly in front of him, ripping her hand from his grasp. The wreckage of the speeder (which very quickly came to a halt in a number of shops) billowed smoke, spat fire and covered the screams of its passengers, but still it beckoned the young Adryn, who found himself completely absent of thought. A cloaked arm took him by the shoulder and pulled him back.

Adryn was missing for a month, and when he was found by his grandfather’s Stormtroopers he did not admit to any memory of what he had experienced in that month. All of the Sahn family much preferred the subject not be thought about, and it was quickly superficially forgotten. Adryn became a much more active part of the Sahn family in his position as Tarsus’ only grandson, and through his teenage years received training in two very conflicting doctrines – Tarsus taught him Imperial values, while the hooded figure who had taken the boy from the scene of his mother’s death taught him Jedi values.

Jedi Master Rion’l’vawrn Herreis’ apprenticeship of Adryn Sahn was never reported to the Jedi Council. She kept the boy’s existence a secret from everyone she knew in the order, yet managed to visit him in his teenage years often and trained him well in the Jedi philosophies. Still, the conflicting Imperial and Jedi philosophies that Sahn was taught came at the same time as the hormonal changes of puberty, and violence became a frequent thing in his life. Both of his tutors quickly realized they had a new problem to tackle: Tarsus began pushing Adryn to think about a military career, while Master Herreis handed the fifteen year old boy a training lightsaber. When Adryn approached a crossroad regarding which path he should truly dedicate himself to, he chose that of the Jedi.

The Jedi Path abandoned Adryn when he was twenty-one. His training, his master said, had been nearing completion. His adult age had allowed him to have longer training sessions with Master Herreis, and even go on a few missions with her, and his only hindrance was having to deny his grandfather’s increasingly aggressive suggestions that Adryn join the military. Circumstances changed, Master Herreis stopped coming to train Adryn, and he feared that she may have died. Six months after seeing his master, Adryn concluded that his only option was to join his grandfather’s military.

General appearance
Adryn is a somewhat large human, with a strong muscular structure that is obvious even underneath his clothes and a shaved head. His features are not particularly remarkable, and he has very little visible fat on him. Although not particularly unattractive, he’s not particularly stunning. The most disturbing feature of his appearance is commonly said to be his eyes, which, despite their warm color, appear to be quite cold in a strange way and have a way of making people feel uncomfortable.

Scars and identifying marks:
Over his life Adryn has amassed more than his fair share of cuts and bruises, but none of them have left any particularly notable marks. The only ones he even notices himself are a small scar on the knuckle of his left middle finger, and a faint, long scar that sits in the center of his stomach.

Personality and traits

Strengths:
Adryn excels in resourcefulness and exhibits a natural ability at adapting to whatever situation he may be faced with. His force-sensitivity is another thing he uses to his advantage, mostly using it to gain the upper-hand in the few fights he gets into.

Weaknesses:
Adryn has three main weaknesses. Forced into military service for his grandfather by family expectations and the promise of a new hole in his skull if he didn’t, Adryn is the most expensive slave the Sahn family has ever had. Although quite capable of escaping, Adryn is far too afraid of the men his family could hire to find him to ever consider it.

Force sensitive: Yes
Class: Jedi Consular
Alignment: Neutral
Proponent of: The Unifying Force

Combat Style(s):
Adryn’s style of combat is a mixture of several different influences. The first and foremost is the training in the lightsaber forms Shii-Cho and Djem So which he received from Master Herreis. The second is the more brutal, unforgiving, physical and downright dirty method of fighting he used during his teenage years, while the third is the efficient, precise and methodical practices he learned during his military training. While fighting, Adryn has a tendency to throw in a dirty punch or kick that his opponent isn’t really expecting, and this unexpected use of his free limbs often gives him an advantage.

Force powers:
Sahn, a trained force practitioner, is quite adept with the Force; he can Force push people and use mind tricks well, but he lacks a constant connection with it (due to extended lack of proper training or use). Master Herreis would sometimes say that he had a special talent for telekinesis and at time he exhibits this. He is also capable of creating a barrier and manipulating it with great finesse, however his precognitive abilities – something Herreis was insistent he develop – are very weak.

Inventory and equipment
Adryn generally does not have a consistent set list of equipment, what he takes with him will vary depending on where he's going and what he's doing. However, he usually keeps a few basic things with him at all times, all of which is kept in and/or on his person:

A portable datapad with HoloNet access capability.
Small food rations in the form of MRE-like prepackaged foodstuffs.
A small medical kit with basic supplies for field treatment (if needed).
An A99 aquata breather.
A grappling hook.
Other equipment will vary.

Clothing and armor:
Adryn generally wears a tight, high-necked and long-sleeved brown shirt, which keeps him warm in colder climates, underneath a blue tunic which he buttons tightly across his chest. The tunic extends past his back and down to his knees in a v-shape, while the front opens up from the hips down to expose his thighs. On his legs he wears cream-coloured combat pants, which are tucked into large brown boots. As accessories he wears a large brown leather belt on which he has a collection of pouches, and frequently has a backpack slung over his shoulders. On his left wrist he keeps a leather vambrace which has an inbuilt crono and stores his datapad. He keeps his lightsaber in the inside pocket of his tunic.

Weapons:
Lightsaber: Designed as much for elegance in combat as for ceremony, lightsabers, also called laser-swords, are distinctive weapons, the very image of which is inextricably bound with the mythos of the Jedi. A blade of pure energy emitted from a hilt most often crafted by the wielder to match their own needs, preferences, and style. To wield a lightsaber is to demonstrate incredible skill and confidence, as well as a masterful dexterity and attunement to the Force. Adryn’s own lightsaber was built in 59 ABY and uses a synthetic crystal to produce a turquoise blade.

Transportation
Starship:
Adryn does not own a private starship, instead relying on the Z’ceptor assigned to him by his grandfather.

Vehicles:
Adryn does not own any personal ground or atmospheric vehicles, however he is capable of driving both a speeder or a speeder bike.
