I've got quite some experience with wiki's and wanted to know if Legacy would be interested in having one? I'll gladly set it up.

Mmm, Jared Leto.

Eh, I've always found them a bit self-aggrandizing tbh.

Not to mention that it involves kind of, rewriting character biographies in another place, in another format. Information pages for information pages etc etc.

I always felt a good guide with links etc etc is really kind of enough.

But that is me personally.

Yes, but Layne fucking terrorizes people in RP life and embalms people in real-life. - Brotz

It is merely another venue for information, and adding information that wouldn't necessarily be placed on the site. For instance individual ships in a fleet, instead of making entry after entry into the fanon databank you could place it on the wiki and have a quick and easy way to organize information. You could give minor things detail, such as companies and corporations. Its merely supplemental to the RP.

Any information that can't be put here on the forums doesn't need to be put here. A wiki is just one more thing for people to watch and maybe, but probably not, use.

That is debatable, sometimes its not worth having information here because it seems like it takes too much effort to put it here. Wouldn't you be able to look up information about a campaign or a war without having to dredge through topics or an extremely brief summary?

Let's not shoot down the idea. While Wikis aren't for everyone, they can be useful.

I personally would think it'd be nice to have a wiki for the site. Whether it gets off the ground and is something useful, who knows, but while it is another place to find information, it's sometimes a lot easier to categorize things. For example, we have all of these characters, but other than listed by name, there isn't anything that puts them into groups such as "Jedi Padawan" or "Sith Lord". We'd have to look through every profile if we wanted to know how many Pawawans we had, or if anyone controlled a non-human character. These kinds of details aren't made apparent sometimes unless we intentionally put them there.

While we're getting the factions going, starting up a wiki wouldn't be too difficult. I don't mind putting up my character information. Plus there are details, such as the fact that both of my characters are a part of the Assassin's Guild or that one of my character's masters is a NPC Sith Lord, that are not made apparently just from the profile. You'd have to read through absolutely everything to find stuff about them, and that can be tedious.

All this detail, aside from Race, is on the Jedi Guide. This is something I started on the Fed Guide, and is going to be a Req for Faction Leaders. Listing people by Rank and keeping an updated Personnel list with links to the Character's Profile.

A wiki won't list these things any better than that, in fact we would have to write a New Guide for the Wiki to do what is here.
