36th Federation Commandos – Eclipse Company![]() Commanding Officer: TBA Second In Command: TBA Number of Troopers: 80 Training Weapons Training: Each of these soldiers are trained heavily in the use of several forms of weaponry. Down to the last soldier, each can use most weapon types due to their familiarity with weapons in general. They can operate almost all known forms of weaponry and can usually identify a weapon type and in some cases, its manufacturer, at a glance. They are highly familiar with the operational functionality of blaster pistols, blaster rifles, subrepeating rifles, repeating rifles, repeating blasters, heavy repeating blasters, rocket launchers, missile launchers, grenade launchers, shotguns, sniper rifles and slugthrowers (most variations). Almost always, regardless of who made the weapon or how it’s used to function, even if they have not used that particular weapon before, they are familiar enough with guns in general that given a few minutes they will figure it out. Languages: All troopers are given mandatory languages training. As a result of the versatile work they will often find themselves performing they are given tutelage in most languages they might often be in a position to work with. These include but are not limited to: Huttese, Shyriiwook, Hapan, Rodese and Mandalorian. In certain cases and upon special requests troopers can also be given tutelage in Bocce and Binary. This is often the longest running of all their training and the only one that often continues throughout their term of service, as languages are a complicated thing, learning more than one at a time proves more than a bit difficult. Though there is usually at least one translator who speaks multiple languages in each squad, there are lessons given to all of them. Tactics & Organization: Each soldier of Eclipse Company has incredible organization skills drilled into their consciousness. They maintain impeccable rooms that are absolutely spotless, almost literally in most cases and do not tolerate anything being out of place. People with a certain level of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder are most desired for these roles particularly because of the level of thoroughness involved with their jobs. As they cannot allow any unknown variables they do not allow for the possibility of unknown variables, and this extends to the battlefield as well. Each member knows every formation by hand and regardless of the squad or platoon size at play, and can seamlessly transition from one formation to the other with little more than a single hand signal in some cases, and a few more in more complicated cases. Vehicular Training: The commandos are trained to function several types of vehicles. They can pilot most land based vehicles such as landspeeders and this training extends to military vehicles such as tanks and walkers, most of which use similar, but not uniform operational systems. They can also pilot airspeeders and in atmosphere vehicles, as well as outer atmosphere vehicles such as fighters and light freighters. Some of them, the officers in particular, are given training on how to give the tasking and co ordination necessary to guide a crew to fly most known forms of capital ship. Of course, with the intricacies involved in flying a capital ship they may miss a few spots here and there, but they would generally have most holes plugged, figuratively speaking. Combat Training: These men are given extreme combat training, put through the ringer to learn how to fight anywhere at any time. Cold weather warfare, urban terrain, even swamps, they have simulated it all to make them the foremost troops to call when heading into an unknown variable, as no matter how unknown it is, they've prepared for it or have come pretty damn close. They are given extensive training in hand to hand combat, a diluted form of Teras Kasi the federation teaches to it's SpecForce units, even though they are not technically SpecForce, but SpecOps. This form of Teras Kasi removes some of the more internal elements such as meditation and self understanding, and focuses more on it's lethal aspects so as to make these men very deadly artists with their hands. They are trained in hand to hand combat each as well as any SpecForce unit. Equipment ![]() History ![]() Edited by Eric, Jul 1 2012, 10:56:16 AM.
