Name: Lanideysi Carleen
Homeworld: Hapes
Nickname/Alias: Lani
Date of Birth: 42ABY

Faction: Sith
Rank: Acolyte

Species: Human
Height: 5,2
Weight: 112lb
Hair Color: Red
Skin Color: White

Appearance: (Two Paragraphs Minimum)

Petite and fresh faced, Lanideysi is not quite who one expects to see when the description Sith is used. At twenty two years of age, she is positively tiny, especially in comparison to fellow Sith. This delicate appearance does not belay the steel within her, the burning ambition of survival and advancement. Her red hair is striking and messy, often kept in short straggly waves, that make her look younger than she is. Slightly angular, but still with a pleasant rounding to her features, preventing her from looking harsh, her facial features are pleasant and attractive, as Hapan born men and woman tend to be.

Prone a light pink blush around her cheek bones, that are slightly pronounced, she has a certain innocent quality to her, not something that is echoed within her. Brown eyes are set perfectly apart, with long defined lashes, enhancing her eyes.

Petite, she has few curves, but enough to distinguish her as definitely female. Dressing often in red, or black, favouring close fitting outfits that make the most of what she has, without putting anything on display. Along her left upper arm, the vines of a exotic flower, all in black with tiny red buds trail delicately around it, making her only tattoo quite a subtle but pretty one.

Personality: (Two Paragraphs Minimum)
Not filled with false delusion of strength beyond her means, she always seeks greater strength in someone to serve. The strength of her Lord, or Lady will reflect favorably on her. Lanideysi has a fair estimation of her own abilities, and although talented enough, in order to survive well, she knows to become invaluable to those with the most influence and power. By no means does she simper overly much, but she does indeed act with what will gain her the favour of those stronger than her.

Hatred and fear are not strange aspects of her personality. She fears greatly, and hates those that she fears, this empowers her into outlasting them.

Ambitious but with clear limits as to what she can achieve, she knows that she will never have the raw prowess in battle to gain the highest seat of the Sith. However, she also knows people underestimate her because of her seemingly innocent manner. Seen as weak due to her lack of forcefulness, she plots from behind the facade of follower.

Quite verbose when the situation calls for it, she is used to others listening, thanks to her childhood as a spoiled single child surrounded by adults, she is not unwilling to speak her mind. She has good sense when doing so, normally, her superiors are to be respected, if only for the sake of remaining on their good side, and surviving long enough that she won't have to fear reprisal if she were to be rudely verbose.

She has some notion of loyalty, but it isn't ironclad and can be swayed to another, her loyalty has conditions, so it is a fickle thing. The only people she had any true loyalty to are long gone, and all but faint memories from childhood.

For all her hatred, when it comes to fathers and their children, she is fond of such sights, and not one to knowingly or without enough cause end such a happy unit. Those reminding her of times when she was truly a kinder person, not embittered by loss and experience under the Sith training regime.

Weaknesses and Strengths: (One Paragraph Minimum)

Physically she is small and petite, and clearly unable to match up to those with larger frames and therefore more physically strength. Although competent in combat with light-sabers, she is not suited to prolonged combat, not having the stamina to last.

Lightsaber combat is by no means a strength of hers. She is competent enough to survive a battle, but only due to the supplement of force power and speed. Against a greater opponent, even trickery probably wouldn't save her. Once again cementing her need for a stronger Master.

Speed is her saving grace, as is her fluid and clear agility . She strikes fast, with aim and this is meant to make up for her lack of strength behind her attacks. Trying to get a hit on her is difficult, however, if she is hit, she probably won't find it easy to recover from. Depending on the strength of hit, she could be taken down with one hit.

Night vision by natural means is poor. This is down to the evolution of Hapan citizens, where night is a strange sight. Lanideysi has an obvious dislike of the dark, avoiding it whenever possible, although her possession of Force Sight allows her to move in the night easily enough, she still find it unnatural and is at a heavy disadvantage at night.

Words are amongst her greatest strengths, the ability to compromise in order to keep her position stable. Other than words her trained force abilities are of a slightly above average standard, compared to most other Acolytes. They are her greatest combat strength.

Visions make her valuable enough. Those are what she can bargain the security of a stronger Master to serve, it makes her less of a disposable resource.

Prone to terrible headaches, normally before or after visions, there seems to be no medical reason for it, and is most likely all a product of her own mind. These headaches can nearly cripple her on the onset, although she can work through them, given a few moments to gather herself.

History: (Four Paragraphs Minimum)
Her Pirate father took her from her mother as soon as she was weaned. Having found himself, and others sick of being second class citizens, he had left to pave a new path for himself. Hardly a shock, many Hapan men having done so in the past, to escape being second class citizens. He made a fairly good life for himself, outside of the law, but better than being stuck under the domineering thumb of women. The best part being the freedom to live as he chose to, not as he was told to.

He came back for his daughter, who had been three months old at the time of his leaving, having traveled beyond Hapan society, he hatched his plot to take her. Lanideysi was the apple of his eye, perhaps it was because she too young to treat him as her mother treated him, or it was the paternal love that had burst from somewhere within him as soon as she had been born, but he snatched her to raise by himself. She was eighteen months old when he took her onto the ship that haunted the Transitory Mists.

Life for her was good. Surrounded by grown men who had for much of their lives lived under the thumb of the ruling women, even if they had left their lives to venture into piracy to escape that, little Lanideysi was the mascot of the - Rebirth II, the ship they used to go about their piracy. It was a dangerous life, in constant danger of being arrested, put on trial and executed, these men were tough and fearless, and Lanideysi was in danger by default. None of those forces attacking Pirates in order to arrest them would know of a child on board, even then, she would probably be written off as a casualty of necessity. Yet, she was a happy child, content with what was hers. She was the positively little Princess of this little kingdom aboard the Rebirth II.

Rough men, uncouth and murderers, they for the most part were who her entire world revolved around. Even at a young age she was learning how to manipulate them, quite innocently, to her whims. An adorable child, red hair, big brown eyes, they had all seen her grow from a toddler - they weren't immune and as children do, she took advantage of it and was quite used to getting her own way. Lanideysi knew what was hers. The rowdy Pirate crew were her family, she adored each of them, as they found themselves, not altogether willingly, fond of one of the same gender they had wanted to escape.

Raised by men, she had none of the ingrained superiority of Hapan woman. Taught her lessons by the appointed cook , she may have missed out on expensive schooling, but she wasn't illiterate. When the men were busy with thievery, murder, and pillaging, a girl had to be kept busy, and educational holo movies and books were what her Father, Deyan would allow permitted. Even Pirates are concerned parents when it comes to education and exposure to unsuitable content.

Not content to stay within the Transitory Mists, they ventured away from the Hapan Consortium, into other systems. More specifically, Hutt Space, where they would sell their loot and stock up in supplies. They weren't bold enough to fence what they stole and didn't keep, anywhere where they stole it from. The Hapan Navy being well trained and always on the watch for Pirates to arrest and put on trial.

Having been more than a few close encounters, the crew of the Rebirth II were considering, very much so, leaving their home system and taking up root in other Systems. Greed prevented them from doing so, the pickings were rich, so why would they want to leave? With greater competition and possibility of rivals taking them on, they stayed where they were.

It was on one of those ventures into Nar Shadaa that the normally healthy, Lanideysi took ill. Unable to take her back to Hapes, they compromised by leaving the cook with her in a rented place on Nar Shadaa, as she recovered with proper treatment. She was nine years old. Her health she would later realise was due to her latent force potential, but at this age, she knew nothing but distant stories of Jedi, none of Sith.

For three months she waited with the cook. Three long months in the hive of villainy and scum, but there was no sign of the Rebirth II making dock. No word from her father and his band of her unofficial Uncles. Nothing. The nine year old young girl waited patiently, staring outside from a window, eyes training in on those walking by. It was on the third month that cook sat her down, giving her a plate of some of her favourite food and fruit juice. He began quite sympathetically: "It is unfortunate, but you must know it happens often, I'm sorry, little Princess, but yer father won't be coming back, little lady. " He patted her on the head. Watching as her brown eyes filled with tears, staring at him, as if she was searching for any traces of a lie.

He went onto explain that without Lanideysi on board, the crew had taken greater risks, they had gotten boarded and some of them killed in the ensuing fight. They'd been arrested and put on trial. He had called it a sham to be sure, and eventually flat out told her that the Hapan Consortium had the crew executed for piracy, that she would never see them again. He told her she would have to be a big girl now, that times would be hard, but it was okay. He would keep her with him, that they'd find a new ship, go on a big adventure.

He was all she had left, so the nine year old had nodded and only cried into her pillow at night. Something she had done before, she didn’t like the dark, especially when her father wasn’t there to hum away the fear. The mourning was behind closed doors, suppressed from the eyes of others, all of a sudden her entire world pulled into shreds and burned up.

Cook, got a job in a cantina, one of the Twi’lek waitresses would keep an eye on Lanideysi, but it was different than on the Rebirth II. Nobody had time for her, not even Cook, so she grew quite bold. Sneaking out into the streets, the Twi'lek waitress more interested in getting more tips, than watching the little Hapan girl. Cook was none the wiser.

She wandered about with the kids of prostitutes, sired by spacers. The usual lot of poor souls stuck on a moon in Hutt Space, either with one parent, or no parents. Lanideysi would run around with them, it was a laugh, but with a dangerous outcome. She was eleven years old when during one of the long run about the city ventures, they came across a man killing another. The killer wielded a red laser-sword, the other kids ran for it. Lanideysi tripped and instead of jumping up, was mesmerized.

She recognized it from her dreams. Now that she squinted, she recognized the man as well. So despite herself, she found herself reaching out towards the man who had turned to look at her. She told him that she had dreamed about him, and she had asked him how could that be. That man was Sith Master Nurago Santana. He stared at her intently, putting away his weapon, kicking the headless corpse of his victim aside, and placing his head in a bag. He didn't turn his eyes from her.

She couldn't look away either. A mutual fascination had formed between the eleven year old girl, and the Sith Master. He smirked, taking her in, already formulating a plan. Lifting the bag with the head, he looked at her and told her to follow, passing the bag towards her. Silently she took it, despite knowing what it was inside, unable to tear herself away from danger. He walked away, and she followed

He walked, she followed.

That pivotal moment marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life. Nurago Santana had noticed her force potential untapped, her ability of force vision - all force users had the possibility of a force vision, but few managed to be sent one, untrained and unknowing. He took a gamble by taking her as a student. She was small, young and female. As he had realised later that night, also barely able to see in the dark because of her Hapan heritage.

She didn't return to Cook, but left with Nurago.

He asked her did she want to be strong.

The once Pirate Princess of the Rebirth II remembered her tears and rage when she had heard of the death of those she had held dear. How afterwards she had blamed herself for being ill. She had been weak.

Yes. She had stated adamantly.

He had smiled, as if she had played right into his hands, he took a vibroblade, hacked off her long red hair, and told her that he would make her strong.

On the ship leaving the Nar Shadaa, she didn't look back, despite the keen longing to see the last constant of her life, Cook. Lanideysi wanted to be strong.

His first lesson was never to cry.

He locked her in a room, left her without any sustenance, nothing in the room but a hard bunk. She cried for three days, was left in silence for a fourth. On the dawning of the fifth day he unlocked the door, gave her water, a meal that she gulped down eagerly and then vomited up. He made her clean it up and gave her nothing else until the evening. Then he watched as she ate smaller bites, slowly, and left most the plate.

She had learned something else, to learn from her errors. Lanideysi knew not to beg, she hadn't begged, and for that he had left her alone for a few days, with access to the Holo-Net. Just as she had began to forget the horrible five day experience, he began his next lesson.

That second lesson was that pain was immaterial.

He had began with a lesson in hand to hand combat, a precursor to when he would begin her instruction in lightsaber combat. Being so small and petite, not to mention young, she did badly, he didn't pull his blows, at least as far as the young Lanideysi could tell. Left bruised and with fractures, he didn't allow her any treatment, nothing to dull the acute pain she felt.

She begged, he only forced her into another lesson, until she said nothing. Biting down her whimpers, forcing back her tears, waiting until she could fall onto her bed, not move and pretend that she was back with Cook. On the day when after he had her on the ground, curled up, and she stood up, no tears obvious in her yes. He had smiled, the same hand that had slapped, punched her so cruelly, ruffled her short hair, in a manner reminiscent of how the crew and her father had done so when she was a young child.

That tiny and probably measured piece of affection hooked her. That one small kindness made all her tears and pain worthwhile. The eleven year old pushing on without complaint. Wanting to relive the moment when in a show of pride and affection, her Master Santana would ruffle her hair.

Other than building up her body, reflexes and tolerance of pain and hunger. Little happened in the first year, in the later months of the year, he would put her in scenarios as to access the force powers he had sensed in her. It was slower progress than he had seemingly anticipated, but three days after her 12th birthday she managed to make sufficient progress. He had rewarded her with a light saber. It was a simple training one, he was not expecting her to handle a fully powered one, much to her relief.

She was elegant enough, once she got over a clumsy beginning, precise and quick, she did competently. Over the next few years, she learned what she was taught, but she never shone in that area of combat. She met a few of those that Master Santana was acquainted with, it was one of those, a rising Sith Master that when she was seventeen years of age, became her first lover.

Vanyel Moran, was stronger than Santana. He convinced her that it was time for her to move her aspirations higher, and she realised he was right. To be strong, she had to lose anyone who would hold her back. Santana had never been a powerful Sith Master, although he surpassed her in the area of Light Saber Combat, she was already more dangerous with force powers. She was learning nothing, and to become strong was her ambition, that meant Santana had to go.

With Vanyel guarding her back, she held her Master in place, and watched as he screamed in pain as she unveiled the ability she had trained herself in with Vanyel Moran urging her on. It was weak and still untrained, but in his shock, Santana was crippled with the pain. The hatred she had summoned to use it was from years of repression, for him taking her from Cook, a man she remembered fondly. As soon as her Sith Master was grounded, she'd collapsed, the strain too much. Deadly Sight had done nothing but injure the man, who would have recovered and most likely killed her, if not for the presence of the other Sith.

Vanyel killed Nurago.

He continued with training the younger Sith, in place of her Master, his reward for her actions that had ended Nurago. In his training she developed the Mind Control, a variation of the Jedi Mind tricks to a moderate degree, it was useless against Vanyel, but in a match with another, weaker apprentice, she had dominated him because of her invoking of that force ability. It was reasoned that her lovely Hapan features, had always caused her to control people in a manner, and her skill with Mind Control was simply another facet manifesting. She made no further progress with Deadly Sight, it drained her too much, and left her vulnerable in the aftermath.

It was frustrating to both the student and Master. Vanyel had taken her on because he believed with her skills, and his ability to control her with some petty affection, he had a weapon to use against other Sith.

On her twenty first birthday, Vanyel discarded her, in favour of her a new student who possessed some potent dark side power. In her rage she killed the other student, watching them die at her hands, but Vanyel never took her back. She was left without the status of a Sith, having not yet deserved the title, and in the constant leadership changes causing turmoil amongst the Sith, not likely to change. Without a Master to complete her training, she was left as a mere Acolyte.

She held little worth.

For a female who had always felt self-worth, not having this acknowledged was infuriating, but she also realised that with the current instability of the Sith Order, it is her chance to find a powerful Master to end her status as an Acolyte, learn more to grow further in power, and be acknowledged as strong, all while protected by the status of her Master.
