  • “But I am not hiding,” said Mivvy as she continued to walk in the silence, save for the nuisance that was his voice in her head. To imagine, his irritating words being able to penetrate the barriers within her mind…well, she wanted it to stop before she did something…irrational. Still, she continued; being the bigger person in all of this toying around of his. “I am not the one who hides behind the use of thoughts and the garment of shadows just to be keep hidden,” She stopped in her tracks and looked into the darkness of an alley. “I am not the coward who hides…that title rests solely with you.” Her eyes lingered in the depths of the darkness before she turned her gaze forward and continued on in a slow but proud walk along the street that echoed silence now that things had settled. As for the rest of what he said…well, she had nothing to say on that. More like she refused to because she wished not to give him any more ammunition to use against her and her psyche which was slightly shaken at being undermined by someone who ought to be put down, the beast he was; the things he did. He was not going to use a past, brief infatuation of hers against her, less to soil and pervert it into something that made her uncomfortable in her own flesh.

But maybe she ought to say something on the matter. Should she hold her tongue, feign ignorance or show off inner strength and resilience, she might very well be opened herself up to an even bigger and more piercing attack from him… Could be some farfetched bit of reasoning, or it could be as spot on as she could conceive about someone such as Veko Kay’lak. And what did she have to lose really…her target, several months of hard work in a well-planned operation and a few fragments of sanity…not much, right? Still, it was better than walking in silence and trying to come up with a counter before he made his next move because she really had no clue what she would need to counter against, she could assume and should she assume correctly, then good for her, but with a man such as this…she was sure that the number of times she would assume wrong would far outnumber the right and, yes it was a risk, but… She drew a breath and exhaled quietly as she continued on in the darkness. A risk. She stopped, closed her eyes in disbelief but swallowed her pride, beat down her caution and scratched away at her uncertainty until the Jedi stood there only with the things he said swimming around in her thoughts along with a knowing of what she needed to do.

The best approach. “Those brief looks you remember, those simple chats you are so fond of,” Is usually the one most unexpected of yourself. “I concede, I did take a liking to you before and that liking did grow strong…with me at least, but…” Because if you were to take a route you would not have expected of yourself, you find you could get a better perspective of things. That which you pursued for so long would suddenly welcome your grasp. “…it went away the moment you did what you did and became what you are now; what you chose to become. Even so,” And, that which you preyed upon would unknowingly wander into the trap that was create simply because you took the opportunity to step outside of your norm and exercise a different option, a new option for some; the least expected for so many. “I cannot help but to further admit that my passion for anything I have taken a liking to has never truly been extinguished…I could not bring myself to if I wanted to.” The thing is, how far does one travel down such a road before getting lost in its twists and turns; soon becoming trapped in the very trap with the prey who suddenly becomes the predator you just caged yourself in with? The risk.

“I shall never reveal myself to you in that manner. Not only are you undeserving…but it is forbidden for me. My time and attention is solely for the Order and no other. I am uncompromising on that matter…but I am willing to compromise on yours…tell me where the young woman is, and I will ask the council to take into the account your last good deed before your incarceration. It is the best that can be offered…considering.” She opened her eyes, turned on the spot and stared back the way she had just come, almost startled by the distanced she had covered in such a short period. “If there is a shred of honour and decency within that tainted shell of yours…you would speak with your voice, step out from wherever you are hiding and face me. For old times sake, Veko.”

Mivaal's replies were something that Veko found himself surprised about, certainly, he had thought, she of all people would have kept such to herself, would have contained those emotions and those thoughts for the betterment of the mission, especially around someone who would and could willingly use such information against her at a moments notice. But perhaps, he thought, it was an attempt to draw him in, an attempt to make him reveal himself to her and help her, or at the very least be open for her to attack or subdue. No doubt there was a capture or kill order out on him from the Jedi, with the two that he had killed, and the few others he might have turned or made doubt the order, yes, it was quite possible that they put such an order out on him.

But, as he ever was, Veko put value by her words and her opinions and began to form a plan of his own based upon the facts and opinions she herself had indulged in sharing with him. The things he could say were many, the actions available to him even more abundant, but the question was which ones to choose out of the opportunities available to him? Truly he did remember the quiet affections they had shared, that he had sensed in himself and her during his tenure as a Jedi Knight, was it so far-fetched that the feelings might still exist? It was entirely possible, plausible even, but could he use it? Again the rogue felt that nervous tick and slight discontent with himself about seeking a use for everything, even his own conflicted emotions.

But then that was who he was; a practical, pragmatic man who thought to use everything he possibly could to his advantage in any given situation, and he was rather happy with that self-assessment. The question now was not should he use his emotions, but how far he should go and what actions might most indulge his fantasies and that of Mivaal's objectiveness about the mission and her own desires. Yes, that was the question, and if he was to figure something out he had better do it soon. It would not be long now until their game of cat and mouse became moot and he led her straight to their shared target or so far away from it his influence would disappear and she would leave before they got to her. Time was the true enemy here, and as he gazed upon the Jedi and caught another glimpse of her scant garb, he knew exactly what to do.

"I'm glad you feel as I feel," he commented, the force disappearing all around him sending waves of shimmering light in all directions as he dispelled his techniques and bared himself before the eyes of his old friend. "But is it truly so far-fetched that I might seek someone to share emotion rather than physical pleasure with during such an intimate act? I have not forgotten Mivaal, and I hope that what you have said is not a ruse. For old times sake, I can think of few ways to honor our silent feelings besides a quiet night together."

  • Mivaal’s eyes narrowed the moment he revealed himself; finally pulling her blindfold off just so she could set her eyes on him, properly, for the first time in…in years, actually. Back in the pub didn’t count, the shock of seeing him overrode everything else, but back then, she did recognize his eyes. He had grown, obviously…he had become more handsome than she last remembered, and the facial hair was a nice touch too. Her jaw tightened as she took in this more solid physique and she started to grind her teeth against each other when she started to remember, and she remembered details clearly. It was a requirement of her line of work to remember the smallest and most insignificant of details in the event that they become paramount to her investigation. She remembered when she asked to tag along when the incident was reported. She remembered standing there among her fellow Jedi, watching a recording of the murder of Master Tarvas followed by the defiling act of the theft of his lightsaber. “Correction,” She began in a state of complete composure as an unwavering focus leaked into her eyes and drained her face of visible expression. “I felt as you feel…what was, simply was for me.” That should have been her last word, but even in a composed form, there were still things to be said especially after taking in his words.

Cautiously, she took tightened her hold on her hilt as she fixed her posture. She stood perfectly still with her feet together – ankles reaching for each other from behind the leather, kept her shoulders back, her back straight and her head properly raised with her eyes set on him; arms at her sides and perfectly still. Throughout, she took a quick moment to think on how best to say what was on her mind…blunt and to the point seemed attractive, but unbecoming at the same time. “You say farfetched…I say impossible.” She said, her words cutting through the silence. “I am not going to be played into your talk of wanting an emotional relationship with me. And I apologize, but it was a ruse…just as this act of yours is a ploy to get into the cracks of my defences no doubt, to cripple me and then remove me as an obstacle. Just like you did with Master Tarvas, correct?” She paused and looked at him with eyes narrowed once more, hoping to see some indication that his heart still beat. “You mean to get at me, use me and discard me in a manner so much like the manner you killed your own Master.” She took a step forward…and then she started to walk toward him, positioning her thumb over the switch.

“There are no old times between us…anything between us ceased to be the moment you went Rogue. Feelings, memories…whatever else, wiped away the moment you chose the dishonourable path. Orders are to apprehend and bring you back once sighted…and I am very capable of doing that and completing my mission.” The back she had on dropped down at her feet with a small thud as she came to a halt. Her thumb pressed down on the switch, her hilt came to life and a bright, white blade shot own. “I’m taking you down.”

Get into the cracks of her defenses? That was a good way to put it, though to exploit just her cracks would be enough for him, and he would so love to explore them all night long. It had not been so long since his last female partnership in the bedroom, but he did find Mivaal so attractive, alluring, so... forbidden, he liked that word. She was the forbidden fruit, the forbidden piece of knowledge, of completion that he needed in order to fulfill his goals and himself. Yes, he would be sure to get into her cracks and fulfill them to be sure, a most lewd thought to be sure but one that offered a series of pleasant images to the rogue. Pleasant though they were, the assassin was forced to slide them aside for what came next, a series of more disturbing images that rekindled secrets and events now long past, events that he had put behind him many years ago.

The death of his master, Master Tarvas Kay'lak, his adoptive father was the true title that Veko had given to him, a title he still claimed ownership of to this day. It was not that the assassin had hated the order, or that he had hated his master, not at all, but in his confusion, in his moments of insanity spawned by the Valley of the Jedi on Ruusan, it made things so very difficult to know what had happened, what was real and what was dream. But he knew the death of Tarvas had been real, had felt the blood flow from him as he plunged the knife in to finish off his old master. The fight, Master Kay'lak's death, his defection, all of it because of their altercation about his new way of the Jedi, about his choice on how to influence the galaxy, on how to make it better, how to make it the place the Jedi needed it to be. It was because of that idea, because of his neutral and dark tendencies that he had been forced to kill his master upon his escape from the Temple.

But as she shook him from his quiet reverie with a raising voice that he would not use her like he had used so many others, Veko felt a pang of guilt, but also a ping of glee. So she was to be defiant was she? That suited the Rogue Jedi's tastes just fine, as she would prove to be someone he would love to indulge in again and again, each time in different ways, and each time to prove that in fact, he could get into the cracks of her defenses. But he would not use her, except for perhaps pleasure, she was an old ally, an associate, someone that deserved respect, but with what she was wearing and the forbidden aspect of their relationship so close to the brim of his mind he could not resist the urge to continue. With the snap of her wrist the white blade of her lightsaber ignited and the assassin sighed, so this was how she wanted it was it, a duel to death or capture? He couldn't have that, especially when the target of both of their missions was so close by and growing nearer to leaving the place he had directed her to.

"Master Tarvas' death is perhaps the thing I regret most about taking my leave from the Jedi, but it was forced upon both of us, as I could not do I s I must in order to act the way I thought I should act. I do not intend to use you Mivaal, only enjoy your company," Veko began, his voice minutely flooded with the force to let his words linger in her mind, to let her mull over the truth and the lure of them so that she might pay more heed to his words. He knew he could not turn her, but he could entice her, perhaps, into the forbidden realms of a physical relationship. "I do not wish to fight you, and I have every intention of giving you the girl. I would even help you extract information from her more easily, less pain for her and all involved, less stress, and everyone involved gets what they need, as she too is a target of mine for some of my own dealings. But aside from aiding you Mivaal, I would like to spend time with you, be with you in ways we could not be before."

  • She was intent on taking all he had just said; ripping the deceptive mask off of them, and serving them right back to him. Mivvy found it very difficult to accept anything he was saying, especially when his words emoted any sort of remorse, or emotion for that matter. With Veko, she could not rely on the Force to see through the fog he kept around him and he probably knew that too….not that it mattered really because there was no way she would ever succumb to him in any manner. Without or without the Force, she could handle him, she could defend herself from in by whatever means and she would continue to reject his unyielding suggestions of wanting to be with her, suggestions which were becoming less suggestive and more bold and up front. It was disconcerting actually, but as said, she was more than capable of keeping him at blade’s length away and holding her own. But, just as she was beginning to think he was running out of insignificant yet interesting things to say to her, he came forth with an idea, this was after he expressed his desire not to fight…this disappointed her a bit, of course, because she was so ready and willing to exert her anxiety and her discomfort and her disdain on him unrelentingly. Her only hope would that there is something left of him to interrogate before imminent incarceration. Be honest here…Veko Kay’lak was beyond rehabilitation.

This idea, more like a admission really, was his intent on handing over Mivvy’s initial target – the young woman whose whereabouts she was most curious about, so much that it kind of mimicked an aching feeling in the pit of her stomach, and that feeling turned into one so sickening that her stagnant expression fell into a grimace. These advances of his, his outrageous pleas to spend time with her…they were cutting at her sharper than her own blade could, she did not express this of course, but it was nevertheless and she wanted it to stop…it had to stop. “You know,” began Mivvy as she deactivated her lightsaber; her gaze tearing through the space between them before burning into his eyes – eyes that once meant something to her. Once. He wanted to be with her…in ways like never before. Never. She was better than that, beyond that…she was a Jedi, a loyal one who followed the Code and her personal beliefs with a near-unparalleled level of strictness and finesse. So it was futile for him to continue asking for something he would never have, for someone that would never be his in this lifetime or the next and so forth till society fell, all worlds collapsed and peace ceased to be a word but a forgotten memory. Never. But… Yes, there is a “but”. What he would be oblivious to, would definitely not hurt him, concur? It was the way of the Investigator: to achieve results.

Her thumb tirelessly moved across the smooth surface of her hilt’s switch as she thought on what she was going to do; doing her damn best to foresee possible results of her impending actions. Cause and effect. She just hopped the effects of her actions were satisfactory. “Your business with the target is irrelevant and will continue to be irrelevant until my investigation and the mission at large has be completed…successfully.” she stated in a matter-of-factly manner. “However…it seems I have no choice but to accept your involvement in order to achieve my goal. Regrettable, but unavoidable, unfortunately.” Mivvy went on; taking a few steps closer to him before she stopped in her tracks, her face stiffening as her gaze hardened. “We will work…and until my mission is completed, you will behave appropriately. Your desires for you and I will not be discussed until my mission is completed. Any mention of your personal aspirations and this ridiculous alliance will be terminated and I will resort to your apprehension and immediate interrogation to determine the whereabouts of my target…it is only a wonder why that option isn’t plan A.” A stab at humour? Maybe…doesn’t matter. Things would go according to her plan, they had to because there was no other plausible; foreseeable path for things to take and when the end point was reached, she would have to engage in what some may seem as dishonourable.

She will turn on him without hesitation and take him down as she promised just before. Should it really be dishonourable if said pact had been made with a murderous, conniving; deceptive former Jedi? In her eyes, it should not, but in her eyes still, it did not matter. What she wanted was what was expected of her – results. “Do we have an agreement or do we settle things another way?” Mivaal posed to him, her thumb stopping on that switch.

The initial moments of tension seemed to ease through the area like a palpable cloud of fog, a cloud rolling along the ground that enveloped them both until they were shrouded in it. At first doubt that he would be able to talk her down from a battle flooded him, though as time passed he began to feel the ebb of her emotions toward him, the flow of the tension decreased with each moment as her saber was deactivated and her hands seemed ot take on a neutral appearance. It was odd truthfully, the part that doubted his reasoning felt victorious, but the majority of his mind was embroiled in confusion, mired in thought and curiosity at the fact the conflict was about to resolve itself.

But then he remembered what she was like, what he had heard of her over the years, the woman he had listened in on many times in his days as a knight until the answer revealed itself to him. Trying to beat him to a pulp or cut him into pieces was not conducive to one's health nor one's objective, especially seeing as torture and interrogation no longer had any affect on him. It was amazing what three years of torture and constant, chaotic, incessant whispering from beings stuck between planes of existence could do for a person's tolerance and personality, of course, there was always a measure of insanity in him, and while at times he embraced it, he feared those moments of confusion.

It caused more than one unnecessary death... whispered his conscience in the back of his mind.

At the mention that she would work with him, under the condition that he would put their relationship and his motives with such an alliance aside, the Rogue Master pondered on the possibilities. There were too many and too few it seemed, but whether or not he agreed was dependent on what he wanted to get out of the arrangement itself. Not only that, but the idea that the woman they were about to confront had information on valuable ships would come in handy, and soon he would have such locations for himself. He would have to hide such things from the Jedi of course, but nevertheless he would work with Mivaal in order to get what he wanted and attempt to show her there was still good in him; or at the very least that he still contained admirable qualities.

"I agree," he responded as he slipped the hilt of his lightsaber away and turned in the direction of the minor safe-house he had directed the woman to. "I sent her to one of my more open locations, a place that would allow me to reach her quickly but remain secret. Unfortunately I have to break one of my rules with this alliance, though I assume it will be worth both our whiles. She will not remain their long, my influence with the force, while great, can only hold someone there through the power of suggestion for so long."

((feel free to move us to the safe-house))

  • It was nestled tightly between two other houses in a row of houses that sat parallel to other rows connected by narrow, poorly lit roads…actually, the entire area was poorly lit. The few light fixtures in the boxed-in area were either non-functional or barely functioning. There was one close by and it flickered before going out; then it would burn back to life and dim back to the previous flickering state and then dying out once more before recycling. Nothing much moved in the darkness, in fact, the only beings that were out in the open night were a female Togruta and her male companion – companion used in the strictest; most professional sense, something the female was adamant on keeping as is, which contradicted with the human’s intentions of having something intangibly strong and intimate form between them. No…Mivaal, the Togruta, had no intention of letting such a fate befall her willingly or unwillingly and in all her cleverness, she had a plan to make sure things went according to what she envisioned and not according to what he desired for lustily. She stated at the entrance to the safe-house; thinking that there was nothing brazenly interesting about it…it was inconspicuous and for all pretences, it was a perfect hide out where anything could go down without anyone being alerted to what was occurring; there certainly was no opportunity for anyone to maliciously pry because the windows to the front had been sealed and blocked. She assumed the same went for any other possible entry point, making that front door the only way in and out.

“Not a bad place you have here.” Mivvy muttered to the human beside her. Clearly it was not a compliment but he was free to interpret it however he wished because she could care less about what he thought or felt unless they further affected this operation of hers. “Someone is inside…not much of anyone in the surrounding buildings…so I think it is safe to assume that this is not a trap.” She went on, turning her gaze from the front door to Veko Kay’lak. The moment her eyes met his, her jaw twitched as she clenched; gritting her teeth as she recollected the acts that went hand-in-hand with the mention of the name “Veko Kay’lak”. It was not as if he was famous or anything among Jedi…it was just that, for her, he hit too close to home. Though more distant than a galaxy, there was still a familiarity that she sensed as she stood with him, a feeling which intensified as she looked at the bastard and it made her want to behead him and move on; even if it meant abandoning this operation and starting over with someone else to lead it. She ought not to feel something now just as then…but she felt it, among other, dark and dangerous feelings that slowly lead her toward the brink…to fall. “Right…do not try anything, because I will maim you if you do. We will search her mind, we will get the information I am after and in a gesture of good will, she will be yours till you are content. Only after would the subject of “You and I” reach significance once more…only…after.”

Without waiting for some sort of show of understanding from Kay’lak, she turned and walked forward with swift strides. On reaching that uniformly grey door, she pressed her hand to it, stared at the space between it and the door frame and pushed against it, opening her up to the complete darkness of Veko’s safe-house. She made to glance over her shoulder to check that he was right behind her, but she thought against that action and entered the house. Her first few and only steps took her ten feet away from the door where bits of light periodically entered the room from the defective light fixture back outside. The safe house was not that vast, and she was highly doubtful that there was more beneath the surface so that left few rooms to search, should she need to. Mivvy glanced about the room as her eyes quickly adjusted to increased absence of light and then she stopped… Over in the corner, standing by one of the blocked and sealed up windows, was the slender female from the pub. She certainly looked much smaller compared to how small she seemed flanked by all those over-sized thugs, and she was perfectly still as their eyes pierced through the darkness to give each other a once-over. As Kay’lak had indicated, she was under his mental influence which explained why she hadn’t put her hand to the weapon at her hip and before she could ever get the chance, Mivvy lifted the blaster from its place and rested it on the floor over at the other side of this entry room.

As Veko had said, he ought to be commended for being honestly forthcoming about her whereabouts, but that was void given that it was his fault she was here and not in appropriate custody – Mivvy’s. “Let’s begin then,” She said to the man behind her.

The trip to Veko's safe-house was a quiet one, quieter than usual it seemed, but that was natural. Usually he would have some charmed and persuaded woman who wanted nothing but to get him in bed hanging off his arm in anticipation, and sometimes from his lips. Otherwise, if that was not the case he usually came accompanied by droids or bodyguards that he needed to speak with. But tonight was different, and as he led the woman to the safe haven, one he had no intention of divulging any information besides that which she saw and sensed about it, he found it most difficult to avoid speaking with her. Odd, he thought, but then the urge to speak with an old friend, an acquaintance, perhaps even a forbidden passion, was natural for those that had been separated for long periods of time.

Her comment that it was a nice place he realized was neither out of politeness nor was it her actual sentiments, in fact they were quite the opposite. He grinned at the fact she decided to reach out through the force and see if anyone else was present, and once she was satisfied that no-one else was there, the assassin was happy to allow her entrance into the facility. She was cautious, which suited her and the situation, but he disliked such a thing, as it kept him from bringing up old memories and feelings. could he manage to bring her into the folds of his passion? Perhaps, but the looks she tossed him were far from friendly, and his empathic abilities told him that while she did find some comfort in him, there were instincts geared toward physical harm as well.

He was out of luck with her it seemed, at least for now. her next comment was one that seemed more agreeable to the assassin, one that allowed Veko some measure of confidence. It seemed that she was willing to partake in conversation after their business was concluded, which for him would not take long at all. However, what sort of business or conversation she would allow for "her and him" was unknown, at least for the time being. Veko leaned against the doorway into the room where the woman currently awaited his arrival, and once Mivaal had given the area a thorough, if rather quick, once over, he was ready to begin. No sooner did Mivaal step forward than did she offer his abilities up for her own service, something he found both annoying and rather pleasant about her.

So she was to be demanding was she? he could work with that, and had no problem with the idea of draining the criminal female's mind of the information she had at her disposal. veko alotted communication between himself and Mivaal to come in the form of quick nods, even when she had spoken earlier that was all he offered. She had asked for no conversation about the pair working or being together, and so he had kept his lips sealed and his mind on the mission, something Mivaal seemed to have a harder time with. He liked that actually, but he thrust the idea from his mind as he placed his hand on the woman's head and let his eyes bore into hers. Usually it was a painful operation, but since he had control of her mind already, she seemed mor eready to offer the information willingly.

So through the force, Veko gathered his energy and plunged it into her mind, but unlike the brutal claws and spoons that some would use to harvest knowledge, Veko's method was a like a fine scalpel, edging around the ideas and information he didn't need. She would wake up later with the mother of all hangovers and complete blank spots in her memory where he was taking the knowledge from, but it would be worth it, at least to the assassin and his Jedi counterpart. It did not take long to find what he needed, and as soon as he had the location of the ships, a few hutts, and a number of traitors that had decided to sell privileged information to outside sources, the assassin slowed the process and became more precise, taking what he guessed was what Mivaal wanted before thewoman fell over unconscious and laid there quietly as he regained his senses and sorted out what memories were his and which were hers, easily distinguishing the information he had taken just like knowledge he had garnered from a datapad.

"So what information is it that you are looking for Mivaal? Her knowledge of these matters has been sufficiently drained, though I am sorry to say that copying such information was more difficult than i thought, so she may have blank spots where I took information from her," Veko noted as he turned to the attractive togruta Jedi and leaned against the wall for support from the slightly draining process. how long he had been in her mind, he was not sure, but Mivaal was still here, and she had not yet betrayed him. Hopefullly that trend continued, and perhaps it even led to the bedroom should he manage to invoke such fiery passions in her that might have laid in wait all of these years.

"I will offer what knowledge I can, and hand her over to you as soon as you are ready. So what is it you require? Ask and you shall receive, and then you and I might talk of more personal matters... yes?"

  • She watched him work on the human female. What else had she to do but to make sure that the Rogue Jedi did not pull a fast one on her and corrupt what was required for her operation to continue on a successful note? She had to be patient, so she remained silent in the darkness of the room, standing with her arms folded and her squinted eyes focussed on the transfer that was occurring between the two individuals. On any given day, she would have preferred any other situation as opposed to the one she currently found herself in…and she would have preferred to be in the company of anyone else, than Veko Kay’lak. But she had her duty to carry out, there were others depending upon how successful she was in her part of the operation and she was going to make sure she came through so that everything could progress as she had long since mapped out…shame was that it also depended on a murdering former Jedi and a young woman up to her elbows in various crimes and other criminal activates – not exactly the best and most reliable companions to have on a mission, not that they were companions of any sort; not even acquaintances. These two individuals before her were complete strangers…she did not know them and she wished not to have anything more to do with them beyond the present and once that was completed, she would bid them farewell. She just hoped they would have the sense to disappear before she sent others to apprehend them.

Glancing from Veko to the female, she could sense that the transfer was nearing its completion and as at ease as she felt, she could not help but focus on the fact that they were standing in complete darkness. Not at all disconcerting, but with someone like Kay’lak, it helped to be alert with as many senses as possible, so with some level of trust placed on Veko – more than she would have tolerated given him – she turned and scanned the walls for anything, a panel maybe, that would put some light in this place. Moving from the spot she was just about rooted, she walked about the room, moving just an inch away from the wall’s surface before she stopped. It was not exactly a panel or anything she had expected, but instinctively tapping it brought light flooding into the room. Seeing it for the first time, she wondered if the décor was really Veko’s tastes, but that was not important, what was important was that as she returned to where she stood before; once again being able to see his traitorous face once more, she was made aware of the fact that the transfer had been completed. Mivvy looked to the female as she lay unconscious on the floor then to Veko. She knew that this was where things would get itchy and complicated because he would expect something of her that she did not want to give, and he wanted something that he now possessed and he had the power to withhold it until he got what he wanted…dilemma. At least, she saw it as one.

Just as he she had assumed, using her to gain information once more was a no-go…there may be a slight chance, but she was certain it would be futile, just as she was certain Veko probably made sure things would turn out like this – to his advantage. “She was going to meet with someone, her immediate superior who answers to a consortium of individuals who have formed this criminal organization that is stamping out or integrating most others so that it can stretch out its reach and cement its grip on certain and several worlds…their activities include illegal trade, slavery, provided hired guns for mid to high level assassinations, the manufacture and distribution of illegal substances and the list goes on. For too short a period, they accomplished too much and we have reason to believe they are aiming bigger, much bigger and much higher now that they have sufficient financial resources and the man-power.” That explanation ought to suffice, it gave him something to latch onto but it allowed her to leave out a great deal more information. She was fine with working with him for the moment, but she was not comfortable with his very existence. Hence her over-worked self-control. “She has the identity of this final link to that consortium, she knows where he is, what his orders are and what his next moves will be…I need that information so I can get to him and get to the heart of that Consortium and take them down.”

She locked gazes with him when she was finished. As he suggested, she had asked in the most polite manner she could manage and now she was patiently waiting to receive…and when she got what she came for, she was gone. Would he catch her? Would he even make such an attempt? Not if he wished to live…he would be underestimating her if he felt he could easily chase her down and hold her. But was she underestimating his capability at subduing her as easily as she could make a dash for her team? The clock was ticking…he had the information that he was willing to offer, she asked to be given the information she worked hard to get…and now it was time for him to fulfil his promise and divulge said information. “The information.” She pressed.

veko had hardly noticed that there was light in the room, he had gotten so used to dark places that his eyes had come to adjust themselves to light or darkness rather quickly, much like his abilities with the force. It amused him, sometimes, to think of the abilities he had and how he walked a very dangerou line, a line between light and dark that had seemed to grow darker over the years. Perhaps one day he would find himself closer to the light yet again, but he was unsure. for now, he latched onto what Mivaal had to say and his mind seemed to react just as quickly as the Jedi Master spoke.

Such information! Vast quantities of memories flooded hi mind as he remembered what Mivaal said and used that to search the information he had taken from the woman, the knowledge drained into his mind now worked to his exceptional advantage. So this was the group some of his operatives had left the Militia for, very interesting, he would have to absorb them as quickly as possible, bring them into the fold of the Midnight Militia so that he could gain more power and influence. While absolute power anc ontrol were not among his desires, there was a part of him that knew power was necessary to some of his goals.

it would be difficult to hide the fact that his organization would soon attack and take over the groups that this Consortium sought to take over, but he was certain he would be able to keep his name out of things. Besides, the Militia was created in such a way that it was segmented but allowed great power over a broad area, while strained at times, it kept any other part of the organization from putting the others in jeopardy. It was a rather cunning design for the faction, he thought, and in truth it was his doing that had made it expand that way, which only spoke volumes upon his ability to lead a group of criminals and force wielders. had he only been left alone and lived as a Jedi, he might have become Grand Master some day.

But swiftly he thrust those thoughts aside, and easily he identified what he wanted from the information and knew that it would be difficult, but he would manage to take out the other organizations that the Consortium sought to took over. However, the consortium itself would leave something of a power vacuum once it was dismantled, so he would easily be able to snatch up such territoryand expand his Militia in its wake. Good, he could use everything to his advantage at some point, but it would take time, and as far as the Jedi knew, he only had a group of contacts, assassins, and perhaps a corvette for transportation at most. So long as they kept thinking that way, everything would be just fine.

This woman wasn't just a link to the final piece of Mivaal's puzzle, she was Veko's link to that entire faction which would allow the Militia to grab more power. But he had to keep his motives low,and easily he knew Loras Joxas could claim leadership of the militia and claim Veko was only a contact and occasional hire, nothing more. He had made the group in that regard, and soon he would be able to do what he needed to do to go down in history: create something so great and unavoidable that it had to be acknowledge, that he would be acknowledged, and he would go down in history as its creator. What that would be, he was unsure, but inevitably he would succeed.

"This man, he is tall, blonde hair, fit for his age, roughly early thirties... and his name is Ornaan Kastarin," Veko began, his body idly moved closer to the attractive Togruta as if to have an actual conversation, one meant for their ears only.

"He can be found," he continued as he stepped right in front of the woman, "on Corellia. Nar Shaddaa was just a stop over, they needed to branch out their power and... moved some of their operations to Corellia, which is where Ornaan is and will be for the next month."

At that, the assassin reached out slowly to Mivaal's hand, a kind, respectful gesture that spoke volume's about the gentility that was within the Rogue Assassin as he looked into his former comrade's eyes, his ability of persuasion flooded the room unintentially but instinctually as he returned the Jedi Master's stare.

"Is that all Mivaal? Or could we... indulge...? Just once?"
