Rise of a new Empire?

After having a discussion about the Imperial Remnants status within the Galactic Federation I was wondering what the thoughts would be about perhaps a new Emperor rising and re-creating a pseudo Empire or even perhaps a Warlord based Imperial Remnant faction.

Seeing as my character is one of the few Imperial characters (I believe.) being an Imperial Army Lieutenant I was wondering how I would get him involved in the role-play. If anyone wants to pitch ideas of what I can do, please share them I'm rather at a loss without any other Imperials.

Im in the process of creating a Jedi from Bastion who's family including himself are still loyal to the empire. Guess i could have him leave the jedi to serve Remnant?

If I remember my History, well fictional History, Imperial Remnant is no more as of 41 ABY. Got a quote from Wookiee about this somewhere...

Quote:

After the Second Galactic Civil War, which began in 40 ABY and concluded a year later, the Remnant was placed under the leadership of Jagged Fel, a son of Baron Soontir Fel, who ascended to the rank of Imperial Head of State. At some point after 44 ABY, the Imperial Remnant ceased to exist after its reorganization into a new Empire. The Empire looked to Jagged Fel as its founder, who had been crowned emperor. The Galactic Empire was thus revived by the passing of the throne to the dynastic rule of the Fel family. Yet even with the restoration of the Imperial monarchy, the Empire functioned in many similar ways to the former Remnant. The Moff Council retained much of its authority and prestige, and were, at least in theory, influential advisers to the emperor. The Empire was also a relatively small state in comparison to the dominant Galactic Alliance, yet also continued to steadily increase its influence through Jagged Fel's Victory Without War program. Over a century after the collapse of the original Imperial state, the Empire emerged as the new dominant force throughout the galaxy after a successful war against the former Galactic Alliance.

We are about 15-20 years after that, the Emperor and Moffs should be in heavy recruit mode, especially for the beginings of the Imperial Knights.

From my understanding of the setup, they have a very nicely supplied Imperial army within their Territory, but are not making much in the way of large scale anything outside their borders.

As for the Navy, at 62 ABY, its still using its old workhorses, I don't remember the new Empire going all Superweapon on anyone. But considering how much a Superweapon challenges everyone else on the site to either come claim it or come against you, anyone breaking something like that out is in trouble.

Gunna stop rambling now.

This I know but no one has said anything about this on the site, therefore I was figuring it was still the Imperial Remnant as it's what it says on the Alliances list of the GF.

I'll try, seeing as I'm going to have my character increase in rank quickly to help spearhead the faction.

Nailed it.

We left the Imperial Remnant out as a faction for OOC purposes. In reality we have a hard enough time getting the larger factions, in terms of governance, to be as active as they should. This sort of thing happens every time we have some interest in the larger factions like the Federation or Chiss. They show interest but in the end they don't put in the time and effort to sustain a large faction. Thus, the faction falls back into inactivity.

Its a wonder how we sustain the Federation and Mandalorians....

Anywho, if you are serious about bringing them back then I would suggest that you make sure you are willing to put in the time and effort of leading a large faction with only two or three members. Also, I won't add any official buttons or sub forums until I see more characters in the future interested in the faction.

But, it'd be cool to see what ideas you have floating around.

Well, considering the Remnant would be a huge source of military strength for the Federation it should at least be led even if in a minor capacity. I know that the Remnant/Empire always has a few players who want to RP in it, just as I did back on AGD. I'll work with the rest of the Confederation because it's what the site requires right now, but once we get going, which we will, I'll see more about splitting the factions off.

I like the arrangement that exists now, with the Imperials being under the Feds. Honestly I wouldn't be writing up an Imperial character if it wasn't the case. That said, I'd like to see my character gain power in both.
