Greetings. I would like to present current Mando’ade members with a question. Would you be alright with the prospect of me pushing and working to increase overall interest and activity for this Faction? Frankly, those who know me are well aware that I’ve rarely played a Mandalorian, let alone lead said Faction. I don’t have much interest in having a character as Mand’alor, so that it can lead the Mando’ade. I’m much more interested in providing them with goals and a direction. I’ll name a few things that I’ve thought of if allowed. I would like to update their Guide with various things. For example, the Death Watch has been disbanded a while ago, while the Mandalorian Protectors were the last Elite group. This to me is an inconsistency that should be addressed and properly handled. I believe that efforts should be made to intensify their efforts at rebuilding their Military, thus translating into more missions directed to that goal. Out of the top of my head, I’d think that Scouting Missions should be added, to see what is out there. Later on, the annexation of said planets should be undertaken to strengthen and increase the overall stance of the Faction itself. A Mando’ade Council should be created, the decisions IC shouldn’t be made by one person alone. Another thing I’d like to add is simple, I wouldn’t be trying to do everything on my own, I would try to enlist help from other people, if they so wanted too, of course. Asylum and Brotz would be on the top of my list, as far as Mando’ade issues and plans go. I haven’t spoken to any of them, but I believe they would gladly help out in any way they could, no matter how small it could ultimately be. The only way for a Faction to truly rise in focus and activity, is with the help of everyone involved. Another thing to be noted, is simple. The character I would create, if allowed to help the Mando’ade Faction, wouldn’t be like the previous leaders. This would be someone who would try to capitalize on the assets at his disposal, Sith included, especially since there is an uneasy alliance with them. I would have to read every Mando’ade character already approved for this effect, so if current members could instead provide me with an overall appreciation of their characters, and how they could impact the Faction as a whole, that would be highly appreciated. I can’t think of anything else to add at this time, so I’ll leave it as it is. Thank you for reading this. |

Having been talking to Beruk, I think his ideas have substance and he's dedicated to getting this faction up off of the ground. I'm confident that he can do a great job. I'm more than willing to bring Jura in in order to help the process. :) |

I have (successful...?) experience in establish a direction for the Mandalorian faction before and at least helping the faction have some life to it, so I am willing to throw my efforts into getting the ball rolling. If that means doing research and putting out there ideas that can raise the Mandalorian faction's interest and membership from the forum's members then I'll do it. I've got a fellow in the works - Votun - whose IC a veteran of the Mandalorian culture and would have wisdom upon certain matters a Mand'alor would need to see to; such as how actions or inactions would translate at home and abroad. Anyway; you got my backing and support. |

Well, the Mandalorians already have a de facto council that is an advisory panel for the Mand'alor. Thing is that the central body of said advisory panel is filled with more or less highly-venerated warriors and clan leaders. EG is going to make a character, Votun Gehran, that would be able to serve as more or less a second-in-command/deputy to the ruling Mand'alor. Otherwise, each clan would more or less choose someone to represent them, but still, many observers could be present and any well-respected warrior would generally be able to voice their concerns. Afterall, the Mandalorians have been known for having a rather loose hierarchy and listening to reason over anything else. While the Mand'alor is still, in literal translation the sole ruler, any wise Mand'alor would be sure to listen to this assembly, because while Mand'alor may be an absolute ruler, the clans may choose to see such a Mand'alor unfit to lead, in which case they'd find a warrior of similar strength and vision to lead them. This is just paraphrasing the Wookieepedia here. Now the Mandalorians don't really have a formalized military, and giving them one isn't very appropriate. The Mandalorians traditionally rely on large militias led by police officers (Protectors) and mercenaries with combat experience. However, I would certainly like to make business deals, expand the individual assets of Mandalorian clans, and colonize a few abandoned/lightly-inhabited worlds. However, Brotz doesn't believe that crusading is the right course of action for the Mandalorians. He'd continue with policy with the Protectors as an all-volunteer police and in wartime, strike force. He'd maintain the alliance with the Sith as long as they'd be willing to abide by his terms, but likely the Sith would feel too humiliated to accept, since they'd never humble themselves to consider the Mandalorians as equals. Brotz would likely remain friendly to the Jedi (offering them sanctuary with Clan Zenos should the Federation one day wish to expel them), and at all costs, maintain a truce with the Federation, unless a power like the Imperial Remnant with strength and vision, would see fit to challenge the Federation (in which case Brotz would consider who is the more honorable and righteous, and act upon that). However, he'd try to keep the Mandalorians neutral overall so individual Mandalorians could back whoever they pleased. So I can see Brotz leading groups of Mandalorian mercenaries, some to help Rovnak take down the Hutts, others to harass the Ancient Houses of Senex-Juvex into eliminating their slave trade, and perhaps he'd declare an emergency (recalling most abroad Mandalorians) and take command of the united coalition against the World Devastators. That last thing is for another topic, however. Still, Brotz values freedom and like Boba Fett, he'd be very laissez-faire as Mand'alor, and overall see himself as an elderly philosopher-king (Marcus Aurelius from Gladiator, Ptolemy from Alexander, Odin from Thor, Wrex from Mass Effect 2, so on and so forth). Essentially his goal would be to spread Mandalorian culture by way of warrior-poets across the stars, and rather than murderous barbarians, create an image for them as the Galaxy's protectors (in a similar way the Krogan were in Mass Effect before their war with the Turians). That is the vision of Brotz I had, if he were to become Mand'alor. It is an argument if he'd be accepted if he declared himself such, but at least you understand my stance on the subject of the proper interpretation of the Mandalorians. Edit: Oh, and Saladin from Kingdom of Heaven as well. |

Note: I do not care about the order of posting. If you are waiting for me to post, I might be waiting for you. Also, if you want me to do something, please tell me - I don't always catch enough hints to take the initiative to ask what you want. If you don't tell me what to do, I'll tell you what to do. | |

Thank you very much for the input already provided. In order for this to work, I shall require the aid of all of you. I understand your stance on things, Brotz. You’re following the latest Mando’ade agenda, especially with the Mandalorian Protectors. When I mentioned the formation of the Council, I was referring more to the involvement of PC characters on it, more than anything else. Also, when I spoke of increasing their Military, I wasn’t implying to make it a Military structure such as the Federation or anything else for that matter. I meant more on the lines of infrastructures to support the creation of more weapons, armours, starships and so on. Increase the backing of Mandal Hypernautics, MandalMotors or MandalTech for that matter. While I do agree that the Mandalorian Protectors line of thought should be the one being implemented, mainly because of Canon facts, I don’t think it should be strictly followed. Mainly because we need a Mando’ade Faction that can instil fear on others, to be respected not only because of their past reputation, but because of their present deeds. This would be the best way to garner further interest in the Faction, thus increasing overall activity from its members. This isn’t to say, that new policies such as these wouldn’t be opposed. Then again, that might be a nice change of pace. I’d like to hear more on the subject, but I believe we can leave that to a later date. Anyone else? |

While I don't have a Mando'ade character I'm in favor of anyone helping to get the faction more active and get moving. It seems you have a clear idea of what you want to accomplish and how'd you like to accomplish it. I'm all for Beruk taking over the reigns to get things moving and pump some interest and activity into the faction. As a side note the Council thing worked well for us in the past as even if the Mand'alore wasn't all that active at times there were still the rest of us to keep things moving along. |

I have a young Mandalorian warrior and I would love to help; I like a combination of both ideas. |
