- - - - - - - - - - APPEARANCE - - - - - - - - - -

Drake Kanos is of average height and weight for a male of his species, standing at a height a little under two full meters and weighing in at about eighty kilograms. He is well-built, as he routinely makes efforts to keep his body health and in a condition far-exceeding the minimum standard for regular physical combat. The nature of his occupation requires him to practice and to display a great amount of athleticism and Drake understands that keeping in good physical condition can do well to determine the odds of survival in any engagement. He walks with a professional, confident, and unwavering posture, not as a means of intimidation or pride, but of the long years of training on different worlds and under different masters.

Drake has a light-medium complexion, medium length black hair, and gray-blue eyes.

Drake usually adorns a set of worn layered robes that provide for movement and extended physical activity. They are slightly tattered around the edges and have grayed with normal wear, fashion being the least of Drake's concerns at any given point in time. The outer cloak he wears is simple and in the same condition as his robes, grayed and tattered.

- - - - - - - - - - PERSONALITY - - - - - - - - - -

Drake is a man of remarkable deception and immoral character. He is profoundly deceitful and does his best to discover the truth about any situation as such is the primary concern for his unofficial occupation. He is a SIth, and as such, there is much expected of him even in the face of impossible odds of survival. He does his best to maintain his professional character, a difficult goal in the midst of anger and betrayal, and to continue on in the pursuit or order. The galaxy has always become riddled with senseless conflict, and aware that conflict is necessary in order for the galaxy to sustain and to continue, Drake wishes to bring the galactic cluster of planets and stars back to a point where prosperity is on the horizon.

Drake Kanos is a courageous individual, confident in the abilities he has learned as well as his ability to improvise under the most dire of circumstances. He has come to understand his limits, however, and will not engage an enemy or a conflict unless he possesses what he believes to be a full understanding of the situation at hand. He will not hesitate to do what he must to attain his ends, and that is what he believes is the strongest factor in the divide between the Jedi and the Sith. The Jedi do what they are able, and the Sith do what they must. It is in this perspective of the different types of sacrifice that has come to define both Drake’s outlook on the Force and the galaxy. He believes in the Potentium theory, that there are no sides to the Force, but rather he who wields it, who truly holds darkness and light within their grasp. He has come a long way since the much more aggressive days of his youth within the respective Jedi and the Sith Orders and has matured to a great extent.

Strengths

Physical Combat Prowess - Drake Kanos is an accomplished physical combatant, maintaining a state of excellent physical condition as a result of routine training and execution in the field. He possesses a good amount of strength and dexterity; attributes that help him to excel in his preferred method of combat.

Lightsaber Combat - Drake has been instructed in many different lightsaber forms ever since his training as a youngling in the Jedi Order. He training seemsnearly endless although it is not. He continues to improve his combat abilities when in the field or during some of his off-time on assignment or during travel through space.

Improvisational Tactics - Drake has a great ability to utilize his surroundings as well as his available resources to his advantage in many different types of situations. He has learned over the years from both past successes and mistakes and continues to do so in order to improve his ability to judge and to handle himself as well as any men he leads in any different situation. He understands that he has limits and has developed a talent for thinking quickly and overcoming obstacles.

Intelligence - Drake is a highly intelligent individual. He uses what he has learned in his studies and his experiences to over come most of the obstacles he faces. He thinks logically and critically, looking for explanations to occurrences and possibilities of events. He is not the most intelligent, but he is an avid and eager learner, and looks for challenges in battle and in his problem-solving endeavors.

Knowledge - Drake is a knowledgeable individual, having read nearly many historical accounts of a great multitude of different subjects. He has a great yearning for knowledge and it is because of that fact that he can quickly recall facts and information, and can use what he knows to make informed and educated decisions. It is also because of this why he had taken interest in gathering intelligence and learning the ways of assassination. He delights in learning about a target and using what they have learned against them.

Weaknesses

Arrogance - He is extremely confident in his abilities and believes that he could handle any situation, although he has come to learn that they are times when he should approach a situation more carefully and possibly not fight if the opportunity to do such presents itself. he is still sometimes overconfident in his abilities and that has caused to him to underestimate his opponents at times.

Bellicose - As previously stated, Drake Kanos will often resort to physical combat with nearly every chance he receives to do so. He prides himself on his combat prowess and will often fight despite knowing that he might be outmatched.

Piloting - Drake can pilot well enough to reach his destination, but is in no real shape to engage in advanced piloting as to engage in dogfighting or to avoid being pursued by any highly-skilled pilot.

Blasters - Drake has little skill with blaster-type weapons, having rarely ever used them for any purpose. He sees them as uncivilized and cowardly weapons. He prefers to actually fight someone up-close than to shoot from a distance.

Technical Ability - Drake is not skilled with advanced technology, knowing only how to operate basic programming protocols and the applications and functions on his own network of computers as well as the operation of his lightsabers.

Blaster Fire Deflection - Drake is a concentrated physical combatant and prefers to go on the offensive rather than remaining stationary and defending a position. He prefers to attack and to constantly move forward toward his target, improvising his strategy as he nears his objective. He is able to deflect blaster bolts from several opponents, but not concentrated fire from a large group.

- - - - - - - - - - HISTORY - - - - - - - - - -

Drake Kanos was born to an impoverished couple whom resided within the forty-seventh refugee sector on a moon known as Nar Shaddaa. The area in which he had been forced to live was immensely dilapidated and infested with homeless families and petty criminals who made a pathetic living feeding off of the poor and broken souls of the refugee sector. His parents tried to give him the best life that they possibly could but the only life they could provide him with was one which was below mediocre. His parents decided that they had to do something that they knew they would come to regret, but it was the only way that their son would live a strong and prosperous life. His father was a Federation veteran and had a friend who had was a member of the New Jedi Order and contacted him to come to Nar Shaddaa to take the young Drake to a 'nice' orphanage on Coruscant. The Jedi gladly obliged and came to help the couple, providing them with a small sum of credits and taking Drake under his care until he had found a proper place for the boy. The Jedi discovered that the boy was sensitive to the Force, highly sensitive, and gladly informed his parents that their son was to become a Jedi. They were glad and hoped that they would be able to see him again.

Drake Kanos had commenced his formal education as a Jedi Youngling at the age of four years and quickly became one of the most prolific students. He was always eager to learn more, even at his young age. Knowledge became a crucial part to his development as a Jedi as it had allowed him to make stronger observations and view things from different perspectives. He was very active as a youngling and spent most of his free time playing with the other children and reading in the library. Over time, however, things began to change for Drake as he fell behind the other students in his command of simple Force techniques and spent more of his recreation time by himself, reading and practicing with the ligthsaber. There was mention in some of the stories of dark masters who often controlled the beasts, masters who had emanated darkness and whom had wielded fierce blades of red. This made him curious about the dark beings, more so why his masters had never spoke of them before. Perhaps it would be a lesson at a later point he thought, disregarding the vague mentioning as soon as it had sparked a hint of curiosity in his fertile mind. He resumed his studies in other areas, including the methods of how the Jedi had changed throughout time.

After Drake had matured for several years, he had become drawn more and more to the elegant weapon of the Jedi, a mechanism known as the lightsaber. He had read about them and had watched countless holovids of Jedi using them and wielding them with a great deal of concentration and finesse. He knew he wanted to become just like them, a great Jedi who would fight the - he thought - what or whom would he fight? Would he fight the dark masters of the Force and the great beasts of which he had read? There was no other visible enemy, at least not to the few younglings of the Order. He and the other children were naive to the realities of the galaxy, to the true conflict on the streets of Coruscant, the wars that took place across thousands of systems. He would come to learn that the galaxy was not what it had seemed, but for now he was but a simple student of the Force, an insignificant tool of the New Jedi Order. It only took a few years to realize how hopeless the plight of the Jedi was and how much more he could accomplish with all of his potential. He might have not been the strongest amongst his peers, but he was one of the most intelligent, and also one of the most deadly in ambition and with a lightsaber. Drake felt that he had been destined for something far greater than that of his peers, that he was to become someone who would one day change the fate of the galaxy.

Drake deserted from the New Jedi Order during a mission he undertook with his master, making a deal with a ruthless gang leader to turn over and trap the Jedi in exchange for credits, temporary shelter, and information regarding dependable pilots that would be able to fly him offworld. After a few days, he made contact with the pilot and began his journey for higher education. Eventually, he would come to discover the homeworld of the Sith, and would engage in training at one of the academies of Korriban, but not after a couple of years making his way through different parts of the galaxy, learning about different cultures, religions, and ways of thinking. Drake eventually made his way to the homeworld of the Sith and of the New Sith Order, demonstrating his might and worth soon after his arrival. He took his place within one of the academies and soon began to study under the tutelage of a number of Sith Masters, learning things about the Force he had only heard of before. He quarreled with many of the other Sith concerning not only technique, but also of philosophy and reason. Many of his peers only sought power for the sake of power, out of their own avaricious desires, whereas he sought power only as a means to destroy his enemies; the number of which seemed to be escalating quite substantially. After some years, however, Drake began to see the inherent flawed conflict that had destroyed the order many times before and decided to take a leave after he had ended the life of his master and completed his training.

Drake had embarked on what seemed to be an endless journey of knowledge and would soon come to learn the dire consequence of the curious mind, travelling to the far reaches of the known galaxy in pursuit of that which would help him to surpass those who dared to call themselves his master. He would discover untold sources of power and become stronger than every sentient in the galaxy, becoming of the master all of those who would not not oppose him, leaving those who did to nothing but ash. He eventually settled on the planet of Arkania, where he founded a small order of assassins which helped to retrieve certain objects and eliminated certain individuals for the benefit of the group as well as Drake himself. He has been living for years as the sole leader of his order, but fears his time is coming to an end as he had began to hear reports for some time about the Sith's hunt for him as well as the items he removed from their possession.

Drake Kanos possesses a profound knowledge of the basic, or core, abilities of the Force. Ever since they had been instructed to him by his teachers and training instructors of the Jedi, Drake has trained with them so that his ability to utilize them when necessary would be void of obfuscation. In addition to having a good knowledge of the core abilities of the Force, Drake has also learned how to conceal himself and to comprehend a multitude of dialects. Along with being a member of the Sith Order and having to utilize unorthodox means of gathering information, He has also learned how to further his knowledge of his telekinesis to grasp onto vital parts of the body and to exploit them, as to choke or wound an enemy without having to lay a finger on them.

“My dear Jedi, you know not of the darkness which is to come.”

Drake often spoke with eloquence, delivering his words with the utmost conviction, and in this instance he understood truer words had never been spoken. It was not that he underestimated the ability of the Jedi Order and its followers to meet that which stood in the way of peace and democracy, but rather doubted their ability to overcome it and to see the true nature of reality and how their way was at a loss of purpose. The Jedi had indeed met and overcome considerable forms of sinister darkness in their past, but what was to come was something different and Drake did not believe they could understand what it was that they were about to face. Drake doubted many of the Tribe could understand what was coming either, but Drake was one who shared a different perspective of the galaxy and could see what many others could not. He could see on his brief time on the battlefield that the Jedi were prepared for the skirmish, but a minor physical conflict was only but a meaningless fragment compared what would be fought in the years to come.

Drake smiled malignantly as he observed a pair of Jedi Padawans, judging by the style of their robes, charging to meet their bitter end by his blade. They came in swiftly at the flanks, but Drake was prepared for them and began to sprint in their direction, the blade of the closest Jedi coming in at a point a little above Drake’s midsection. The strike was made with precision but the Jedi realized she was outmatched when Drake dodged the lightsaber blade, making his way low to the ground and pressing his attack with the momentum of his evasive maneuver. Drake returned to his previous position, along with his weapon and met the blade of the Jedi with his own, pushing his weight forward and feinting, bringing his blade down quickly and slicing through the young Jedi with considerable ease. The combatant was younger than the first he had met and was much more inexperienced with the blade as well as her awareness. Drake was beginning to become even more disgusted with the Jedi after having observed all the Order had to offer him in the form of opposition. However, his reflection was interrupted by a hard vertical strike made toward the center of his body.

The attack was avoided with a quick dodge to the side and Drake understood he had to keep his focus sharp as the incident had nearly been his end. He received not an injury, but rather a realization. He was not familiar with continuous combat as he was much more familiar with individual duels, and he was taking too much time to think in the middle of a conflict in which he needed to act. His extended moment of thought nearly cost him his life and he assured himself he would not make the same mistake again. As soon as Drake dodged the attack, the young Padawan learner fell forward and tripped over the body of the other Jedi. The boy had struck in anger and his mind was not clear, and Drake knew that if the boy had kept his mind about him, he would have killed at least one Sith.

The young Jedi was struggling to stand, breathing heavily with his arms and knees on the ground, his face muddied and distraught. He hated the Sith, and wanted them all to perish beneath the great light that existed in the form of the Jedi, but he knew that he would not live to see it. Drake kicked the boy’s lightsaber away, sending it rolling several meters to the side, and then kicked the boy hard in the stomach, causing him to fall back to the ground. As he took his lightsaber and plunged it into the back of the boy’s head, he gave the Jedi his final lesson; “You should have been much more careful Jedi. After all, anger leads to the dark side.” He left the lightsaber, feeling that two lightsabers were more than enough extra weight to be carrying around, and then continued on toward the entrance of the Jedi Praxeum.

A strange feeling overcame Drake within the next few moments and he smiled menacingly as he realized someone was attempting to call him to attention. Whoever it was had been strong in the Force to have utilized his or her telepathic ability in such a fashion and Drake had smiled because he knew the next Jedi he was to face would be much stronger than a student of the basic tenets of the Jedi Order. He knew his next opponent would be in the form of a Jedi Knight. The Knight, a female Twi’lek, possessed a strong sense of confidence about herself, a characteristic Drake respected as he was also confident in his own abilities. It was not a feeling of pride, but rather an understanding of one’s limitations and potential. Drake knew he was strong, and he would be able to see just how strong he was against a Jedi Knight. She stood several meters in front of him, lightsaber drawn, with a burning sensation of anger present in her eyes.

The difference in the anger of the Jedi Knight and the Jedi Padawan existed in the state of control and the execution of the emotion. The Padawan used his anger blindly, giving into his emotions and striking without being mindful whereas the Knight pacified her anger, using what techniques she knew to remain focused. Drake, however, utilized the juxtaposition of emotion and control, drawing upon his emotions to fuel his strength, to exercise his full potential in all of his endeavors. The two combatants stood facing one another in the midst of chaos, a silent fragment in an arena polluted with resounding destruction. It was at the moment of shared silence when Drake began to go on the offensive, charging the Jedi with a good amount of speed. As he neared, he made a quick stab and feinted, then retreated the weapon swiftly and brought it about with a diagonal strike toward the Jedi’s midsection. The Jedi responded to the stab, sidestepping as she was unaware of her opponent’s intention, and brought her blade up to block Drake’s strike with ease. He expected as much, testing his opponent, learning more about her through the way in which she fought.

The blades clashed and each of the combatants attempted to parry and release their weapon from the lock in which each took part. The Jedi tried to push her wait forward to no avail as Drake possessed the advantage in physical strength. She continued to try, buying time s she consolidated her own strength. Then, in an instant, she moved to the side, snapped her lightsaber off, and pushed Drake back using the Force, pushing him a distance of about ten meters. She started off in a sprint toward her opponent, watching Drake struggling to rise to his feet. He spit out a very small amount of blood and ignited his lightsaber, bringint it up with great speed as the Jedi approached him. The Knight was caught off guard but was mindful enough to be able to dodge the incoming attack, staggering only slightly as she made her way off only a few meters away from the Sith. Drake rose to his feet, and brought his head up with a grimace.

“Oh, come now Jedi. Surely you can do better.”
