1. Key Abbreviations
1.1.1 OOC: Out of Character. This means that you are not posting as your character in a story. You are posting in real life as yourself.
1.1.2 IC: In Character. This means you are posting as yourself and not your character.
1.1.3 RPG: Roleplaying Game. This is what this site's entire focus is on. It is where you pretend you are a character in a fake universe and post a story.
1.1.4 NPC: Non-Player Character. This is anyone who is not controlled by a human in the RPG.
1.1.5 PC: Player Character. This is the character that you control, and other players with their characters too.
2. OOC Rules
2.1 Community Guidelines
2.1.1 No flaming, critizing, or arguing with other members. Keep it friendly here, even though you may not like someone, we dont need it here.
2.1.2 Keep swearing to a minimum.
2.1.3 Common sense stuff. Don't do things that are obviously wrong, such as cheating, hacking, spamming, etc. There are too many to list, so just don't do things that would obviously be against this code of conduct.
2.2 The Following applies to either Guests or Members:
2.2.1 Ensure a friendly atmosphere to our members
2.2.2 Ensure the privacy of our members
2.2.3 Comply with existing laws
2.2.4 Encourage responsible use of our forums and discourage activities which disrupt our community and reduce the value of our services to our visitors
2.2.5 Encourage the freedom of expression and exchange of information in a mature and responsible manner
2.3: Spam
2.3.1 Excessive off-topic threads
2.3.2 Posting pointless stuff
2.3.3 Outwar-style links
2.3.4 Blatant advertising
2.3.5 Messages without content
2.3.6 Fraudulent activity (Pyramid schemes, chain letters, etc.)
2.4 Piracy...
You may not discuss, encourage, or think about the following on these forums:
2.4.1 Seeking help to create cracks, trainers, and key-generators
2.4.2 Seeking missing files that are supplied with installation CD(s)
2.4.3 Admitting to possess pirated software, cracks, trainers, and key-generators
2.4.4 Admitting to distribute pirated software, cracks, trainers, keys, and key-generators
2.5 Harrasment:
2.5.1 We do not allow any attacks to anyone on the staff (moderators, site admins....) or members.
2.6 Porn/Sexually Offensive Materials:
2.6.1 You MUST NOT post any pornographic image in the forums, or link to one.
2.7 Signatures & Avatars:
2.7.1 Signatures & avatars must comply with the ToS.
2.8 Respect the Staff:
2.8.1 Respect the Staff.
2.8.2 Do not repetatively ask to become a moderator or administrator after the admin has already said you cannot. Doing so will get you downgraded or punished.
2.9 Advertising
2.9.1 Keep advertising to the "Advertisements" forum (found under 2nd Look) only. (NOTE: you cannot post in the "Advertisements" forum until you have 25 posts.)
2.9.2 You can advertise in your signature.
2.9.3 Do not post links to website with porn, hentai, graphical images, ect.
2.9.4 Do not advertise anywhere else.
2.9.5 Do not advertise via PM. If you see anyone sends you an advertisement via PM, please notify an administrator, and we will deal with it.
2.10 Moderation & Bans
2.10.1 You may not evade a ban, suspension, mod queue, or anything related by creating another account. Doing so will get all of your accounts banned, and your IP address banned from Epic Assault.
2.10.2 You may not publicly complain about or demand a reason for another user's ban, the deletion of a message, or the deletion/closure of a thread. Any discussion about warnings, bans, message deletion, thread deletion and thread closure should be done privately between the person concerned and the moderators
2.10.3 You may not re-edit a message that has been edited by a moderator
2.10.4 Please note that just because an Admin punishes you for something, it's not because they dislike you, it is merely because we are doing our jobs to ensure a fair environment to roleplayers.
2.11 Others
2.11.1 Do not post negative posts and discussions that are repeated over and over and over with no other purpose than to disrupt conversation. If you feel the need to say something, say it once and then move on. Do not disrupt multiple threads in order to get your view out.
2.11.2 You may not bait/troll users. Bait / Trolling is defined as posting with a clear intent to provoke anger, incendiary posts, and behavior that results in other users violating the CoC.
2.11.3 You may not bait, insult, flame, or otherwise abuse a moderator
2.11.4 You may not abuse your ability to post in HTML in HTML-enabled forums
2.11.5 You may not post graphically-disturbing images as inline images (such that the images are displayed when users view your post).
2.11.6 You may not register multiple accounts with intent to violate any part of this CoC.
2.11.7 CoC Stands for Code of Conduct, such as this one.
2.11.8 You may not sock users. Socking is defined as posting for another member, even if they asked you to, as well as making new accounts and claiming them to be another member's.

3. IC
3.1 God Modding
3.1.1 No God-Modding is permitted.
3.1.2 If you kill a character that YOU and you only control, that is not a God-Mod.
3.1.3 When using powers, you only say that you used your power, you cannot say how the other user is affected by it. Either one of the staff or the other person can say how they are affected by it.
3.1 Examples:
3.1E1: Bob hit Bill. Bill died because he couldn't withstand Bob's power.
3.1E2: Bob used his power on Bill knocking him into a tree.
3.2 Powerplaying
3.2.1 No Power-Playing is permitted. If you do this to a character to YOU and you only control, and it will not affect another posters roleplay, that is not a Power-Play.
3.2 Examples:
3.2E1: Bob ran at Bill with the most high-tech and irresistible weapon in the galaxy.
3.2E2: Bob wiped out an entire army without a scratch.
3.3 Post Deatail
3.3.1 Please make all posts descriptive and useful so others can roleplay off of it.
3.3.2Please make all posts # or more sentences long.
3.4 Stay on Topic
3.4.1 Please make sure not to interrupt an RP with a post that will lead the roleplayers off topic.
3.5 Saying Something OOC in an IC Thread
3.5.1 If you have something to say Out-Of-Character within an RP, please use one of the following:
a. ((Out Of Character Content Here))
b. OOC: Out Of Character Content Here
3.5.2 Please keep entirely OOC posts outside of the RPG and instead through PM or OOC Forum.
4. Punishments
4.1 Breaking any rule will earn you one warning, except if you break the power-playing or godmoding rule. If you brake the power-playing or godmoding rule you will earn two warnings.
4.2 After you receive three warnings, you will be restricted from posting for a maximum of two weeks.
4.3 After you receive four warnings, all of your accounts will be banned for three days.
4.4 After the three day ban, if you earn another four warnings, all of your accounts will be banned for one week.
4.5 After the week ban, if you earn another four warnings, all of your acounts will be permanantly banned.
4.6 If you come back after the permanant ban on another acount you will be IP banned.
4.7 If anyone has been banned, and comes back during their ban on a new account, they will be IP banned.
4.8 If anyone posts a message from a banned member, that member will be banned for one week, and the banned member will have another week added to their banning.
4.9 If you return after an IP ban on a different IP and we figure out it's you, you will be reported to Brandon of the Invisionfree service and likely kicked off the network. |
