She winced when Xanth told her that the noise was off, only just then realizing how dumb she must have looked. The worst thing was that he didn't know what was wrong with her, not really. He probably didn't understand why the noise set her off so badly.

She stood up and brushed the dust casually from her pants, avoiding his eyes. She pulled her cellphone out of her pocket and carefully typed the words "Just regressed- noise in wash room upset me. Q call Dr S n ask 2 make apt 4 coping devices? Thnx!"

She handed the phone to Xanth, nodding that he could read the text message. It was easier than trying to explain what had just happened. "Parents," she told him, waving a hand absently so he'd know to forward it to them when he was done. She carefully walked over and began to move her laundry from the washer to the drier. She didn't know what she'd do about the buzzer next time, except maybe to make sure she left the room before it went off.

Xanth read the text, and then did as she asked and sent it to her parents. It took him a while, phones weren't his forte in the least. Xanth handed her the phone back after she was done switching the loads. He wondered if Scot would want to be here later when the dryer buzzed, and was certain that it would probably be a good idea to come up with some reason to get her away from the noise.

"If you'd like, you can come over and get the CD, maybe listen to a few songs as well, while you wait for your clothes to finish drying." He offered, hoping that she didn't think that it was a creepy thing for him to ask.

Scot smiled at Xanth. She could see that he was trying to get her away- avoidance was a coping device she was all too familiar with.... Then again, it was basically the same thing that she had been planning to do, and she did want to borrow that CD from him. She nodded once at him as she pocketed her phone. It wasn't like she was afraid to leave her laundry. If someone at this school really wanted to steal her bra, they were welcome to it.

Xanth decided to leave his laundry hamper in the room, figuring that he would come back for it later. He told Scot a little bit about the band as he led her to his dorm.

Scottie followed Xanth towards his dorm. She might have felt a bit weird going into a boy's room if she hadn't spent so much time around her brother's friends. As it was, she felt more weird because she didn't feel weird. Was she supposed to? Even Matthew had warned her to be cautious at this new school, and Michael definitely had. She didn't want to be the vulnerable retarded girl here that everyone took advantage of....

She sighed and ran a hand through her hair, pushing such troubling thoughts from her mind and allowing herself to become immersed in what Xanth was saying about the new band. He was a friend, she told herself. It was okay to have guy friends. This was innocent- as innocent as hanging out with Angel had been.

Xanth held open the room 113's door when they arrived, he figured that it would be the more gentleman thing to do. Once he was inside though, he took out a binder full of hundreds of cd's. Once he found what he was looking for, he set up his computer and put in the music to play.

He scratched the back of his head and turned to smile at Scot, "Welcome to my room, feel free to make yourself comfortable." He told her as the song Meet Virginia by Train began to play.

Scot tilted her head to the side as she was listening to the song, mouthing the words as they came out of the stereo. When the song finished, she automatically repeated it, singing along this time to make sure that she had the lyrics right. It wasn't a hard song to get the drift of. Sometimes she had to listen to the rap songs Michael was fond of two or three times before she absorbed it all, but this one she could get on the first try.

She smiled at Xanth, nodding her head. "Decent."

"Train and t.A.T.u. have been my latest bands. I listen to pretty much everything though." He told her, it really wasn't a secret of his or anything of the sort.

"tATu?" She cocked her head to the side again, trying to decide if she had heard that one before. She didn't think so. She wasn't so good with the letter thing, though. She probably knew the entirety of the band name... Maybe...

"Counting Crows?" she asked. "Panic at the Disco? All American Rejects? Simple Plan?"

She knew hundreds of thousands of band names, and even more songs than that. She was into anything and everything.

"I listen to them too - t.A.T.u. is the actual name though. I have two of their cd's if you want to listen to them too. My oldest sister sent me a cd and I sort of became hooked on the music." He half explained, half thought out loud.

He knew that he had downloaded the cd onto his computer so he pulled up the list of songs that they had done and pressed random. Friend or Foe began to play.

Scot nodded along with the music, trying to get her brain around the lyrics once again. This song was a little harder, but nothing she couldn't get through on the first try. She'd had a lot of practice, after all.

Xanth watched her listen to the music, "So, how do you like the song?" He asked her, wondering if she liked the song or not. It wasn't the best by the band, but it wasn't their worst either.

"Good."

One word answers were okay with her. Kind of like a specialty.

"Uzundari?" she asked, frowning. Granted, Armenian music wasn't popular among teenagers, but Xanth came off as a music buff, so he might know it... maybe...

"I can't say I recognize the name, but it does sound a little familiar." Xanth admitted. It felt good to have someone know a band better than he did, it made him feel odd though.

Scot smiled at Xanth and then stood up. It was nice to hang out with him, but she did have laundry to get back to. Unfortunately. She pulled out her cellphone and frowned when she saw that her parents hadn't texted her yet. At home, they were constantly at her disposal. She could see the good doctor any time that she wanted to. Around here, they didn't have to pay attention to her all the time. Selfish to want them at her disposal, but that was how it was.

She smiled at Xanth to show that she appreciated the outing- and the distraction.

"Loud!" she told him, smiling and heading towards the door. Laundry time.
