Dog-like creatures more or less with spines racked around their shoulders and down the middle half of their spine. Their faces are concealed with a skull based mask or just their main top portion being skull and bone itself. The lower jaw and everything else resides in flesh, muscle, and fur (with spines protruding out down 1/3 of the lower neck, shoulders and near the middle half of the spine). 2/3rds of their body is consists of flesh while 1/3 remains to be exterior bone. An interesting fact about their spines is that they can be retracted or elongated just like a cat’s claws. The spines themselves remain (when exposed outside their flesh) 1/3rd of their length when content, tranquil or calm, but when threatened or confronted with hostility, their spines with elongate and spread to their entire length to the very core. The spines themselves can be found to be within half a foot long (six inches) to roughly a foot in length, depicting on the size of the male or female; females are generally known to be larger and more volatile. Their size can be minimal of being small or roughly large for a predator of their species, let alone very intimidating and come off as friendly or neutral, however, when they’re not. They remain to have their chest and front portion of their body lower than their haunches seemingly seeing as their front paws are an inch or two shorter than their back legs. Some can be found with even body proportions in their limbs, however, it is not common amongst them.

Markings of tribal like patterns decorate their skulls in a fashionable sense, especially around their bodies. Their necks tend to remain to be plain otherwise, sometimes they can adorn a few stripes near the base of the head near the ears or lower jaw or even at the shoulders and nape in between them. Markings are assorted and not entirely colorful, but plain in the shape they come in context with. They do not adorn ears that stand up or lay against their head, in fact, their ears are little holes embedded directly to the side or behind the lower jaw bone where it connects to the upper jaw. The cavity itself is rather small in terms of adhering to size and being able to pick up slight sounds from afar or near by; the cavity is similar to a conch itself on the inside portion of the ear, so sounds reverberate, bounce and echo into the ear drum, holding the ability to pick up even the slightest sound (i.e. like a pin drop). They’re rather resourceful with their surroundings and containing elements, making them powerful when engaged in slight combat or a fray (battle, fight, etc.). Vercers are known for their name seemingly as they become merciless killers with no intent on second guessing their victims when being killed or slowly dying. Their spines contain a paralytic liquid that can be injected into their victims or opponent, making them vulnerable, weak, paralyzed and immobile when coming into contact with their spines (just like a lion fish).

Their markings can found to be similar to a lion fish’s as well, or a tiger. Sometimes they remain to be inorganic to their nature (like a Revenant, Vulkuren, Dakhai, or any other formidable species on Daem) and tribal-like. Their markings are engulfing and vast from the neck down, whilst some can remain to have very few yet adorn bright, luminous colors on their face and portions of their body such as the neck, chest and tail. Unlike other species, Vercers adorn a colorful, lambent and multicolored organ in their chest cavity. This particular organ withholds more than just one job or activity within it, making it a primary organ to their bodies. Not only does it transmit signals from one member of their group to another (using different forms of clicks of various frequencies, low hums, or thrumming, nevertheless even screeching sounds), it also enables the ability to reflect color, sight, emotion, and body temperature. That particular organ embedded in their chest is actually their brain, not their heart. A nicely woven casket (which is called a Hive) reinforced with clear, translucent Vinyl and dual banding of bone is thickly laced and wrapped around the heart, protecting it from the thick padding of their muscled chest cavity. While the color itself remains to be bright and luminous, the various forms of light holds the ability to shine through their chest because of various muscles being removed in that part of the body to allow the transmission of light to pass through like a beacon in their chest, glowing with incandescent light.

The brain in their cavity emits various shades of color of the entire spectrum: it is not limited to what it can produce in the fashion of hue, shade, or opacity. This organ is also how they see: it holds the ability to produce light, reflections, and transmit an image to their eyes which are glowing holes of fused mist and smoke expunged from the cavities. Due to the importance of the organ, it remains guarded, reinforced, and banded with layers of bone and Vinyl (Daem’s famous metal on the planet, and also a nicely fused bone or liquid). Their heart, however, is directly placed further back in their chest in the rib-cage, which remains to be larger than most in species known on planets. Their rib-cage is a factor of at least 50% of their body length: it remains to start at their chest cavity, running down near the middle portion of their body; so in words: it’s half of their body length due to all the organs being harvested in their bodies. The only organs they do not have, compared to others, are lungs. Why? Because they do not need to breathe. Taking this as an advantage, when one clamps their jaws around their neck, they can sit there and breathe perfectly without having to rasp for air. Their breathing system is entirely different and more unique than from other species. Instead of owning a pair of lungs like others they harbor a ventilation system within their body, using that as a form of ‘breathing’ like gills. Oxygen is inhaled through the vents (which are placed just under the nape of the neck by the lower jaw bone, above their shoulder blades, and between their spines), combining the O2 through their body to provide enough to support them, while exhaling a soft turquoise-blue ethereal mist from their body.

The ventilation system works like a repeating cycle with only a few directions to its course. The oxygen enters the body, transmits to an organ within their body that provides and harvests a form of O2 and mists, slowly converting the oxygen into the mists, which are released through the vents and valves of their bodies. Oxygen is useless to their bodies, more or less to put it, and sometimes mists rise off their bodies when energy is being converted and produced within their body alone, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re ‘breathing’ or using oxygen, it just means they’re putting their body to work, burning off useless fatty material, waste, energy, or even emitting a poisonous gas within their bodies. If the vents were to plug up, the gas itself (which can be poisonous and lethal) will engulf the interior of their bodies, soon to overwhelm, gather and cause their bodies to internally combust in a rather gruesome and violent explosion. To refrain this from happening the Vercers managed to hold a set of secretly placed vents in which allow this gas to escape and seep from their bodies undetected using a secondary ventilation in which purifies the mists into a clear, stainless, odorless, and nearly invisible ethereal mist from their body. The mists are clear due to not allowing / permitting their enemies the existence of the secondary vents, much less giving them a worthy opportunity of the upper hand. The existence of the secondary vents remain cryptic and unknown to other species but themselves. That being one of the many ways in which they’re called merciless and fairly unique in their design and species articulation alone.

Some can be found with or without tails, and sex/gender does not effect that decision. Tails are given at birth, but the option of keeping or having it removed is up to them. Removing the tails is likewise a decision made up to them due to various reasons because some thing tails are useless because their balance does not come from their tails, it comes from the brain in the chest and a set of organs in their body on their left and right flank. Like kidneys they have a set of two one each side, one for the left flank and one for the right flank. The organs provide balance, maneuverability, and being able to stand alone on their limbs. Because of these organs they remain to be important and highly reinforced with thick bone and Vinyl just like the Hive (brain). Their markings can, however, be bio-luminescent at night and during the day, harboring lambent incandescent light that can set off like beacon on their bodies. The coloration or brightness of the markings are not used for any form of communication, just display. The Hive (brain) does and can reflect color in a form of mood towards another, making it fashionable in a crazy clash of assorted colors if conflicted or threatened. Usually a bright, loud color of red is used for anger or agitation, blue for a content, tranquil mood, amethyst for tender or adoration, etc. The colors do not always reflect mood or emotion, but also the age, weakness, and energy within the body. The dimness of the eyes can also determine age of a Vercer, much less anything in particular to height and discoloration of the body. The colors of the Hive can also reflect just sheer content of the brain itself, even then producing color for the mere activity being held in the organ itself.

Their colors tend to be bland of grays, blacks, browns, white even, and other formidable colors such as dark blues, purples, and even reds. Their markings, however, can be the opposite of their body color and if their body scheme is dark, the colors are bright or light in color to balance out the scheme; if the body is light, their markings are dark, but become bright and lambent at night (same for the dark body color scheme). It’s rare to find a white Vercer for the white or ‘Pure Ones’ remain to be condensed with no corruption to their name and of high importance amongst their species (which will be explained later when more information is gathered). Other colors are found to be common and are not reflected by region or geographical location (i.e. mountains, terrains, forestry, etc.).

Note: This is currently under construction. Do not make a character of this species unless specified.
