* * * HI, AARON! * * * ~ WELCOME TO SURVIVOR: JAPAN! ~ ![]() I hope you enjoy this game experience and play it to the fullest. Whether you've played a Survivor online game before or not..........this should give you a good idea of what to expect. How you choose to play this game is completely up to you. But I encourage you to be an actively involved player, think about the choices you make, and have fun throughout the process. Your Confessional can only be viewed by you and me until the game is completed. I strongly encourage you to use your Confessional to its fullest. You can create different topics round by round, or create one long post that you add onto as the game plays out. Also, there may be times when you'll need to create a new topic here to use for certain events. Depending on how much & how often you write in here, I may post questions in your Confessional for you to answer throughout the game. These are private discussions that NO ONE else can see. When you post an entry here, I may have follow-up questions based on what's happening in the game, so feel free to open up and speak what's on your mind. *Think of your Confessional as the place where you can keep track of your game. Keep notes on other players, keep track of discussions you've had, share interesting strategy thoughts, etc. etc. etc. *Your Confessional is YOUR STORY. You can write it as if it's for "home viewers." Write about what you're up to.....who you trust.....who you don't.....etc, etc, etc.......and WHY. *Again, NO ONE will have access to this, and I can assure you that nothing you say in your Confessional will be shared with ANYONE. But the fun part about these games......after the entire experience has concluded and the winner is announced, we'll do a Cast Reveal where the identities behind each player will be unveiled. After that, every character's Confessional will be "unlocked" so everyone who played can have access and read what was going through each character's mind throughout the game. Reading up on lively Confessionals afterwards can be quite entertaining, so I encourage you to post often about what's happening for you in the game and share as much as you would like. It helps to keep track of your experience. NOTE ABOUT VIDEO CONFESSIONALS: * * * If you'd like to record Video Confessionals from your phone or webcam, and if you've already done this in seasons past, then you know about the "UNLISTED" setting on YouTube. But if you've never done Video Confessionals for one of my games before, please DO NOT post a video before chatting with me about it first. For those who may not be as familiar with YouTube........you cannot use the Public setting or the Private setting. You need to use the "UNLISTED" setting so that you and me are the only ones who can view your videos throughout the game. * * * S O O O O O O . . . . The 1st thing you need to do is read each topic I've posted here: WELCOME TO THE GAME, A FEW RULES, & THE VOTING BOOTH. Please post a comment on each topic (INCLUDING THIS ONE) so I know you've read everything and that you understand the rules everyone must adhere to. After you've done that, I suggest getting to know each player in the game. Tribes won't be revealed until sometime on THURSDAY night. Once we're in tribes, you're only allowed to message those on your same tribe. But there's a forum in the WELCOME section of the board called ~ THE DOJO ~ where all players can post. In addition, once tribes are set, there will be a private forum to use for only your tribe. There's plenty of time to get familiar with everything before our first event on Thursday. * One final piece of advice: Don't take anyone in this game for granted. You never know how things could play out. * LET THE GAME BEGIN! O U T W I T O U T P L A Y O U T L A S T ![]() Brobst ![]()

Whats going on Brobsty? Pretty excited to have this game underway, logged on last night and met a good host of people, at least half of them. I'm not use to this forum format, its a bit hard to keep track of who you've spoken to and who you haven't. I just hope I'm not to far behind. Night One I spoke with: Shii Ann Tijuana Baylor Jeff Nate Charlie Gary Leaving These Unspoken With: Zane Mama C Monica Alicia Sally Christine Lex Andrew Josh Of those it doesn't look like Zane has checked in on the main board... I think he's the only one. Also, of note, there are 17 of us, that doesn't work. I'm guessing the end of this pregame phase will be a schoolyard pick or something of the sort that leaves an odd man (or woman) out... the use of the word Duel maybe hints at redemption island being in play so maybe hope isn't ALL lost for that one person. Anywho time to get to kissing some ass! |

We don't chat enough anymore, Brobsty You must've moved on to more interesting players. I'll do my best to win you back over. I'm beginning to get comfortable in Aaron's skin. Coming into this, I didn't know who I wanted to be, and I'm seeing that a bit of the first impressions of this game, at least from me, are subconsciously related to the avatars. Baylor comes off as lighthearted and free willed like the Baylor of Survivor, Lex is a bit edgy and cool, Zane is a untamed, and the list goes on. I'm not sure how much the avatar of Aaron has impacted how I've acted or how others may have perceived me. I'm not sure it matters, the first impressions are mainly done, and I'm beginning to feel more in line with how I want to be perceived in this game, and get comfortable in the 'character' of Aaron I've been building. Aaron on the show Survivor was a consummate professional, a fierce competitor, great sport, loyal and an intelligent leader. These are all very great qualities to have, even the avatar I was given has Aaron with his eyes squinting giving off a thoughtful persona. This is not me. In real life, and in the other Survivor ORGs I've played in, I'm a brash character as unafraid to break loyalties as I am to publicly call people out. With this game being a private game, I can recraft myself, why not utilize the natural advantages I was give by being placed as Aaron. At this point obviously, it's taken time for me to gel, mainly because I haven't been as active as I'd have liked in the first few days. I made some good connections with people, or so I'd thought, until the names kept getting called and I kept trying to find new ways to congratulate people without feeling desperate. Finally, Tijuana was called, I was ecstatic, she was #1 on my list and the main person who I had been hoping to work with. Annnd she calls Mama C, who I'm happy for, but in my head I just realized out of 17 people I was in the bottom 3. That's not a great place to be in a social game where first impressions are so important. Not to mention, I'm put in a bit of a tough spot with the situation that happened earlier today. The person I chose, Andrew, who is going to feel the most indebted to me, who will likely be grasping for allies as soon as the challenge is over. Has his picked removed because you didn't like who he had picked. Now, I have to say I completely disagree with your choice. I don't want to post this in the public forum because it would only draw unwanted attention on myself. But I think what you did violated the integrity of this game. You set this up, as a Survivor Game, the main tenant of survivor is that this is our society to create. You set the rules of on that challenge, you gave the other 15 of us free will to make a choice that impacted the game, if you weren't willing to give him the free will you should have just kicked someone out yourself before the challenge. But back to how this affects me, because that's what we're all here for. Andrew would normally have been easy vote to pick up, and I could utilize that to join up with my main girls Tijuana and Mama C or Lex who I had a good relationship with, now I have to be tentative as I'm not sure whether they take Andrew or Shii Anns side. I know I'm low on the totem poll right now, but it's nice to be on a tribe where likely everyone is feeling that way after dropping to the second half of this draft. I'll work my way in and it begins with building a trustworthy loyal game. I'm going to shirk my sneaky ways to play a straight up loyal honest game hoping to get my footing here. I'll keep the sneaky stuff in my pocket so no one expects it when it comes late in the game. |
