OK, so there is this thing Rob Cesternino always says on his podcast. But not about Survivor-- about Big Brother. In Big Brother you have 18 people or whatever in a house, and there are no separate tribes. From the start they are one big group working together. Yes, the mechanics are different with HOH and nominations. But numbers-wise there is a similarity. BB has a huge group of people on one "tribe" from the start. And Survivor: Okinawa has essentially the same thing. Anyway. Rob C. always says that the best strategy in the opening weeks of Big Brother is to basically go to sleep. He says in the first month or so of that game (which lasts three) there are so many people and so many shifts that will happen. You cannot win the game of Big Brother that first month, you can only lose it. Then, once you start to get toward the jury phase of the game, it's time to turn the game play on. As I've gone back and forth with how to play this game and how to manage all of these people, I keep coming back to Rob C.'s Big Brother words of wisdom. You can't win the game in the beginning weeks, you can only lose it. I feel that 100% applies to THIS game. There are 14 people left in the game. You can be inactive and become a target. You can play hard and run alliances and become a target. Or you can be somewhere in the middle. Kind of lay back somewhat, but not completely. Don't be inactive, but don't be at the forefront of things. Basically, do what I have been doing. I make sure to touch base with EVERY SINGLE PLAYER EVERY SINGLE DAY (unless for some reason I cannot log on at all). I don't talk strategy with everyone. Some people I just say hello to and send them some smileys. Some people I am far more open to. I don't push my agenda, I am agreeable, and I don't think anyone in the game could come up with a reason to get rid of me. I am not a threat. And I am not inactive. I am not going to win this game before the jury phase begins, but I can certainly lose it. So I am going to make sure I get the balance right and get myself to the jury phase. Now, what's funny is I began this game saying "eh, I don't really want to win." Which I say all the time. I think I am pretty confident in my skills as the Sandra of this franchise. But sometimes I think about another player winning for the second time and it makes me go into overdrive thinking about how I have to win AGAIN and become the only three time winner.  Plus, as I also say every season-- there always comes a point where my competitive nature takes over. Right now I am all about being the mayor of the jury house. It sounds like fun to me. But.... I am still going over all my options and figuring out how I need to play to win. BECAUSE I JUST CAN'T HELP MYSELF. So that is my wisdom for the day today. I am currently playing this game under Rob C.'s BB rules. Let's see how well I do with that.
