A Few Differences.....; New Board stuff

Obviously, it's a much bigger adjustment on my end of things than for players, but I appreciate everyone adapting. There's many things I like better about it, and some things I'll just have to bite my tongue about. And I actually have no control over any of these changes. I can only study up on them way after the game has wrapped to continue to try to learn a completely new "language." Imagine going inch by inch through a thousand lines studying a thousand coded symbols trying to find which one changes WHAT when the "language" isn't what I've known for almost 10 years. That's what yesterday was like for me, LOL Anyhoo, all that to say if there's any minor things that are just preferences and not like a crucial game element.....just let them go. Cause I would either not know the answer yet or literally not have the time to try to find the answer. And I have numerous boards over the course of this year that I'll have to reformat as well. BUT..... the three things I can think of for now that ARE important to know is that (as I'm sure most have noticed) the IMG tag up above when you post now has moved over a little to the right of where it was and just says Image. Other than that, I haven't seen any difference with photo posting. The second thing is something that is not able to be changed unless the developers listen to the pleas that many who run live online games of various types have suggested. This new board format has no way of turning off "Flood Control." The old board DID..... it could be changed by the Host so that rapid fire posting (for challenges) could be achieved. The new board, however, does have a MANDATORY 5 second delay that cannot be taken away. Meaning, no one will be able to post any quicker than 5 seconds apart if they're doing it in rapid succession. If you try to post sooner than that, an error will show up saying something like: "Wait 2 more seconds before posting." I can't speak to the nature of any remaining challenges this season, but at the same time, I also don't see this being an issue to be concerned with as I very rarely even do types of challenges where flood control would be a thing. (and they obviously have that in place for other open board communities of different types that have lots of guests that can post, so they have that parameter in place to avoid any spambots for security purposes) The third thing I wanted to point out for now is that from what I can tell from the experiments I did yesterday...... when I turn off PMs for challenges....... that INBOX link up in the top right corner will STILL SHOW UP. The old board style made that disappear so you could easily tell when PMs are off or on. But I believe that when I turn them on or off, it will NOT make that particular link go away or come back. All this means is...... once it's challenge time....... don't start to think: "Oh cool, Brobst forgot to shut PMs off, so I'm gonna do some messaging." Because you can get TO your inbox...... but if you try to write a message...... once you hit SEND..... it's just gonna give you an ERROR message anyway and the PM will not go through at all. Other than these three specifics, everything else is mostly just stylistic things that I'll possibly be toying around with whenever I can. If I have any time over the weekend, I might post a few details about other minor things I discover here and there. But then again, this is all new to me the same way it's new to y'all.
