I bought a RakuRaku Dinokun recently as i am now a primary school teacher and thought it would be a great way to introduce children to the concept of control and simulation in ICT (and also develop a sense of responsibility :heehee: )! I didn't realise unitl i was trying to work out how to use it myself how complicated they are  . It says it's a 40 in 1 but there are no where near that many choices unless they all look the same i would say more like 20. It is green and has clock written above the left key and reset over the right. I am desperately trying to work out what the icons mean and thought i should ask some experts?! ~Can anyone help? The first icon is a noodle bowl ~i get that and i have worked out the second is a football for the two games, the third icon is an ABC book but my pet never wants to do that, the fourth i just can't fathom it looks a bit like a head of a person with an oversized hat on?! The 5th icon poop-a-scoop, the 6th is night-mode, the 7th is scales which is the gauges of how everything is going and the 8th is an umberella?!? What is the umberella? ~ My pet refuses it all the time! Also in the scales menu it shows a pencil, a heart, a bowl of food, a circle with a small cross in it and it then says s085 vr00 any ideas what that is all about? What i mean is i know they show how well fed, happy and educated the pet is but i am not sure about the circle and cross and the wierd code part! I am feeling very much like this :ugh: I would be sooooooo grateful if anyone has any ideas it's impossible to teach computer fearing parents or kids if you dont know yourself!! Many thanks Amy x |

Ooh, those fake Rakou Rakou Dinokuns (Dinkie Dino) are notoriously hard to take care of. They are firmly planted at the bottom of the virtual pets totem pole. I have not bought one myself but I hear a lot of them won't even keep proper time :o so they sleep at odd times and they die easily. Please don't think that all virtual pets are this way. They aren't! Try a Tamagotchi. They are available at most large retail stores. They are fun and run solidly, will connect to eachother and are just plain old cute. ;) Better luck next time. |

My son just got one of these fakes from a Santa in our local bank three days ago; free, I might add. He lost interest within minutes, but it's driving me nuts. I'm not sure about the 'face-with-big-hat' icon - I think it might be an ice-cream cone... Sorry I can't help, but at least you're not alone, and can only repeat a previous post - buy a good one from a reputable supplier. I've killed my son's pet twenty-three times already, but I'm not giving up yet! |

here in canda you can get thos for about a buck at the corner stores and even ceaper one's at dollarama (wich are lke 49 in 1 or so they claim) I bought one and They are of very low quality (duh) but to tell the truth the dollarama ones actually work okay (I use that tem lightly) but are incredibly boring . they just sit there and move side to side and when you pay games or feed them you ge a giant head and thas it (can't expect much from a 1 dollar thing though). I gave it to my nephew(who's six) an he named it bo-bo(it was a snail). in about two minutes he put it down and picked up his gameboy. bo-bo was dead the next day... |
