It was hard to find a place in Wonderland where Sorin wouldn't be bothered by the residents of the world but so far he seemed to have found it. Now he was spending his time training. It was a good way for him to clear his head and after his last meeting with Audrey he needed that. The fact she had feelings for him was something he never considered. He needed to figure out if he wanted a relationship with her or if he just wanted to remain friends.

There was also the issue with Ignis. During the fight, Sorin lost as soon as Ignis casted that illusion on him. It was a type of magic that Magigiri had no defense against. If he had spent more time on Sorin then the swordsman would have been killed easily. If they were to fight again, if Sorin didn't have any way to avoid the illusions then he would lose and after what Sorin has seen, the last thing he wanted to do was lose to Ignis again.

(Takes place after "Whisper Ways")

Unlike Sorin, another on the world had a more difficult time in avoiding the residents of the world. Akemi Jing the Spirit Weaver found herself in the courtroom, after wandering the garden that appeared to be singed and only just recovering. Upon meeting the Queen (whom reminded her of the many fat, angry housewives back on her world), she was immediately held suspicious just for being a mere visitor, due to previous incidents of the destruction of the rose garden and, recently, getting washed out by an enlarged woman. Despite Akemi's calm, rational reasoning that she was just passing through, the Queen had none of it and ordered for her beheading right off the bat. The only way she could even get out of that mess was a simple dose of her Spirit Magic, not only compelling everyone to let her go, but also making them forget she ever came around.

With that trouble out of the way, the spirit host of the Shade Keeper found herself wandering the Lotus Forest, having given a mental remark on the name due to the Lotus Assassins of her world. Save for the Queen's illogical ways, the bizarre antics of this world rarely fazed her much, even when a simple flower began making conversation with her. She already found how different each world was and merely found this as part of the world's charm, for lack of a better word. She could probably relax here for a bit, provided no one else was going to accuse her of anything ridiculous or if those shadow creatures left her alone.

However, a sudden change in the air brought her to pause and look around for the source. It was hard to explain, but it made her stomach churn and the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. She could even feel that the Shade Keeper had felt it, judging from the snarling she heard in the back of her mind. Though it was best to be prepared, she avoided changing to her combat suit for the time being, instead looking to find where this dreadful sense was coming from. If it was something dangerous, then she could have every reason to take care of it.

As she came across a clearing, she found that the source was not a demon or some powerful dark mage, but an adolescent boy. Or rather, as she looked closely, the katana he held. It didn't seem to have any sort of enchantments, yet it felt as if it were surrounded by powerful energies. How something like this came into this young man's possession, she didn't know, though it was easy to guess he was another Converger. Funny how most of these people were mostly comprised of youths, but she wouldn't complain.

Acting on her curiosity, Akemi began to approach, though had to stop due to how strong the atmosphere had gotten. She instead settled for clearing her throat and speaking up, "Excuse me. I don't mean to intrude, but where have you come across that sword? I've never seen one that felt so...sickening, if you don't mind me saying."

Sorin stopped his practice when someone spoke up. He blinked at the woman that was there, staring a second at the outfit she was wearing before shaking his head. "I found it on me after being first affected by the Convergence." Sorin answered as he sheathed Magigiri. Everyone that could feel it seemed to be affected by Magigiri in different ways and considering what she said about it, she seemed to be feeling it particularly badly. Might as well be polite and have her feel better when they were talking.

"I don't know where it came from originally. It's called Magigiri." Sorin said. His swords origins were still a complete mystery to him. Really the only thing he knew about it was the name and what it could do and he learned that from Merlin who was probably one of the two people that would have the most knowledge about such things. He never did get around to seeing if Yen Sid had any idea about it, something that he might have to really remember to do later.

For a moment, Akemi had to smirk when the boy stopped to stare at her for a second, once again reminding her why she chose to dress this way. With the sword sheathed, that dreadful sense lessened considerably, though she could still feel it ringing in the back of her mind. It was easy enough to ignore, though, and she walked closer to the young man, sashaying all the way.

"So it just appeared on your person, out of thin air? Interesting..." she murmured as she studied the katana, deliberately lowering herself so he could get a good view of her cleavage. Indeed, it seemed this Convergence was capable of many things, among turning normal people into different creatures or granting them magic from supposedly nowhere. So many mysteries around this multi-dimensional event, and not a single one solved so far.

That didn't stop her from teasing a little further. He might have been too young for her personal tastes, but she couldn't resist. "Though I suppose the better question is...does the swordsman wield the sword well, or does it wield him far better than he ever could?" She laughed at her own little joke, straightening herself back up.

"But I digress. I am Akemi Jing the Spirit Weaver. What is your name, young man?"

Great this Akemi was the type to show off and embarrass people. Sorin was rather glad about how well he can control his expressions so she wouldn't get any satisfaction from the slight glance he made toward her cleavage. There were some things that even he couldn't stop himself from doing.

"My name is Sorin Luca." The swordsman replied, making no comment toward the innuendo that Akemi made. "Can I ask what you are doing here? I was training by myself before you came along." Sorin added. He wasn't too sure what else to really make of Akemi other than her teasing and the fact that she seemed to have some kind of powerful magic that made her feel Magigiri like she did. Trying to get anything else out of her could be a big help.

Though amused at the fact that this Sorin couldn't resist a peek, Akemi was somewhat disappointed when he made no other reaction. While she herself prided on controlling her emotions, others with that sort of skill were just no fun to fool around with. On top of that Magigiri of his making her stomach churn, she would have normally left the matter and continue her way. But, considering Sorin was attempting to make conversation with her, it would've been rude to just walk away. Perhaps he would need her help with something later on.

"I was simply strolling by, trying to relax," Akemi first answered, pacing around the clearing as she went on. "Of course, that itself is hard to do when an overbearing queen immediately calls upon your execution simply for being an outsider. And I thought the Solarii on Yamatai were insane! But thankfully, I managed to use my talents to get out safely." She didn't mention what said talents were at the moment, not unless Sorin asked specifically. And even then, she'd find a way to twist the truth.

She soon stopped by an enlarged mushroom, leaning against the stalk as she brought her attention back to the swordsman. "But tell me, Sorin, why exactly would you be training alone? Is there not anyone else that can help you with that...'magic-cutter', as it's apparently called? For that matter, is there any other use for that sword beyond that?"

Sorin nodded as he listened to Akemi. He thankfully was able to avoid having to deal with the Queen of Hearts when he went through. He wasn't too sure what these Solarii are or the talents that she used to get away from the Queen and her soldiers. The swordsman didn't know if he wanted to ask about it or not.

"I don't have any real master to teach me. I've gotten help from some others, a samurai named Kensei and an angel guy named Greg but I've mostly been training on my own. You are right in there isn't much use for Magigiri beyond being used to fight magic users but it's all I have. Since I don't have any powers I can use it without negative effects. But that means I need to rely on my skills and so far I haven't had much luck with that." Sorin said the last part bitterly. He still hadn't gotten over his battle with Ignis.

For the most part, Akemi appeared rather stoic as she listened, or as stoic as she could be given her nature. However, she couldn't help the jolt when he mentioned Greg. She had kept it suppressed to the best of her ability, but cursed herself inwardly at her sudden feelings. Why in the world did that angel of many lives get to her so? She had never in her life got so hung up over a single man, so why did this one in particular bother her so?

Whatever, that wasn't what was important at the moment. Back to the matter at hand, the Spirit Weaver lowered her shades as Sorin finished his explanation. So he was a young man with no magic of his own, who received an enchanted blade that can dispel magic upon Converging. In her mind, that was a fair trade-off, but judging from that bitter tone he used at the end, that wasn't sitting so well for him. She had a good idea who he might've faced before this, but she wouldn't bring it up yet. For now, she began internally discussing with the Shade Keeper how to aid this young man with his apparent struggle, while she addressed him as if nothing was going on.

"So I see. While I do not personally understand what you are going through, I can see why it must be difficult for you in particular. With some exceptions, magic seems to prevail in these worlds." Pushing off the mushroom stalk, she approached Sorin once more, normally this time. "But I'm sure you have to have some enhanced ability about you. Even if it's not magic or a transformation of some kind, the Convergence seems to affect people in different ways, at least from what I've seen in my travels."

"If there is I haven't found it yet." Sorin replied. He did not think it was likely that he had anything like that. From what has seen so far there seems to be some kind of balance in order when people gain powers. While many of them seem incredibly powerful there was nothing that would really push someone to a level so much higher than everyone else. To Sorin it made sense he didn't have any other kind of ability to make up for the fact that he had been given such a powerful sword.

The swordsman sighed softly. "I know how powerful Magigiri is to those who use magic but it's limited to how well I can use it. I'm still a novice swordsman and I'm limited by the fact that I can only use it to stop magic I can see. Against multiple opponents or attacks from different angles I can't fight as well as I should." Sorin said.

This was what Akemi needed. From the way he put it, the swordsman's issues were peripheral. While she was hoping she could work through some dormant ability, she could at least work with this for the moment. As she walked closer to Sorin, the Shade Keeper began working up her magic to help "influence" him.

"Hm...I suppose you would need more training to resolve a problem like that." Placing a hand on his shoulder, the Spirit Weaver spoke calmly, "But perhaps I could help you...focus a little more..."

On that emphasis, her hand reached up to the back of his head, her magic beginning to "weave" into his mind, attempting to influence a part of his mind. "If you don't notice attacks from certain angles, you will certainly fall in battle. You must be more aware of your surroundings; you can't face against a single opponent all the time. Be more wary, Sorin Luca..."

Sorin looked at Akemi cautiously. He was a bit uncomfortable with her being so close to a woman in such revealing clothing. His feelings changed to confusion when Akemi put her hand on the back of his head. When she started to talk to him Sorin felt something from her. Sorin had no way he could describe what he was feeling but all he could tell was that it was coming from Akemi and was aimed at him.

The swordsman jerked himself away from Akemi and had his hand on his blade, ready to draw it in a second's notice. "What the hell were you trying to do?" Sorin demanded as he glared at her.

As Sorin jerked away from her, Akemi gasped as she nearly stumbled, having been so deeply focused on weaving into his mind. As he said himself that he wasn't sure if he had any enhanced ability about him, she didn't think that he would actually sense it and try to stop her. Neither Rikka nor Azumi had been able to catch her, yet this supposedly 'normal' swordsman was able to catch her off-guard before she could place the spell.

Well, no point in trying to play innocent now. As they say, the jig was up.

Regaining her composure, Akemi looked at Sorin rather calmly in spite of her botched effort. "If you really must know, I was trying to influence a part of your mind. Namely, the part that keeps you aware of your surroundings in the case you're outnumbered or certain sorcerers have you at a disadvantage. But, since you were able to tell I was using my magic, I can see you have no need of my help. I must say, I never expected anyone to actually manage to stop my magic before. Well, save for one exception, but that's a story for another time, isn't it?"

With that, she turned her heels, about to walk away and look for an exit. "Well, unless you have no further need of me..."

Sorin frowned as Akemi explained herself. For the most part Sorin wasn't really happy at what she was trying to do. He had never been a fan of any kind of magic or ability that messed with a persons' mind. If what Akemi was saying was true and she was trying to help him Sorin would let it go this time. It also brought up something much more important. He was able to sense Akemi's magic. If he could learn to use that ability he would be able to use Magigiri so much more effectively. It might be able to give him an edge up the next time he meets Ignis.

"Just next time tell me if you are going to try something like that...and thanks. This might be what I need to fight Ignis and help Audrey." Sorin said though the last sentance was more to himself rather than Akemi.

Just as Akemi was ready to leave the nonsensical world, she was stopped as she heard what Sorin said, looking back to him while raising her shades. It wasn't the thanks he gave in spite of what she tried to do, nor was it the mention of that illusionist; she already had an idea this trouble started with that 'monster'. Rather, it was the mention of Audrey, the dream and imagination-wielding girl that she had previously helped. From the way he mentioned her...and given that he was around the same age as that girl...

Well, she might not have been able to help with the swordsman's issues around magic, but after the success with Azumi and Rikka, there was one thing she could probably help with...

So, rather than leave, the Spirit Weaver turned back towards Sorin, giving a small smirk. "Hm...I wouldn't have guessed you would be acquainted with someone like Little Crow, given her powerful magic. What's your relation to her, if you do not mind me asking?"

Sorin was about to go back to his training, to figure out how to work with this new ability he discovered when Akemi spoke again. He never meant for his last comment to be heard but now that she heard it he had to say something. "We're..." Sorin started but stopped as he wasn't sure how to describe his relationship with Audrey. It was something he was hoping to have more time to figure out.

"I don't know." Sorin admitted. Now that he started talking he found he just had to continue. "I consider her a friend but...I'm not sure if it is anything more thanks to Ignis trying to use her feeling for me against us." Honestly Sorin needed help or advice or something. He never was someone to turn to for relationship[ advice and now that it was happening to him it was so much worse.

"I'm not surprised that man would go as low as to use one's feelings as a weapon," Akemi replied snidely as Sorin finished explaining himself, removing her sunglasses. She took a moment to consider how to help, looking closer at the swordsman as she tried to get an idea of what he might possibly be feeling. Although she couldn't read his expression, she could tell from the tone that even he didn't know how he felt, sensing the confliction.

"I admit that infatuation between young adults isn't really my forte, but I'll make this an exception if it means keeping that girl away from that 'monster'." As the Spirit Weaver began giving her advice, she crossed her arms below her chest. "First of all, if you're really not sure, perhaps you should spend more time with her before you decide what you feel. Don't rush into it without knowing what you're doing, but don't run away from the possibility, either. It'll only continue to eat away at you if you do so."

Says the woman who still won't admit to her own feelings regarding a certain angel. Moving on.

"Second...you should really work on opening up a little more," she added with a light pat on Sorin's face. "That 'stoic loner' act can only work on you for so long. Women appreciate a man letting his emotions show every now and then, despite that old stereotype. Be honest with your feelings.

"And lastly..." She looked at Sorin dead in the eye, sternly, "don't ever think of hurting her. I've made a promise to take care of her if she were ever in danger, and after what I've witnessed of Ignis Fatuus, I don't want her running off with another fool who'd wish to do her harm."

Sorin was kind of glad that he could just get any advice about the whole situation. Even if Akemi said she wasn't used to helping in this, it still could be useful. The first bit of advice was probably the best. Even Audrey admitted she herself wasn't sure if her feelings were anything more than a crush. This could help the both of them understand their feelings plus it could let Sorin keep an eye on her just in case Ignis showed up again.

The second would be a bit more difficult as it wasn't like Sorin did it on purpose. It was just how he was used to dealing with things but he'd try. With the last one he just looked at Akemi.

"Thanks for the advice but I would never do anything to hurt her. Even if she in the end is just a friend, Audrey is still someone important to me." Sorin said as he looked right into Akemi's eyes.

"Just so we're clear on that," Akemi said, stepping back and placing her sunglasses back over her eyes. "You seem like an honorable young man, Sorin Luca, so I trust you won't do anything stupid. Otherwise, if I find out that she got hurt somehow, I'll be forced to take...extreme measures." What those measures were, she chose not to state. "Now, I believe I've wasted enough of your time, so I'll be on my way. Good luck, Sorin."

She turned away, ready to take off once more...only to stop in her tracks. "Oh, before I forget..." She turned to face Sorin one last time, her expression more serious. "You can say a little 'birdie' told me, but you should know this about Mr. Fatuus. Though it was apparent when I witnessed him take a broken back as if it were nothing, that 'man' apparently cannot die. Or rather, he can, but he'll come back shortly after. Even if you could fight against him now...you're better off taking your chances..."

And with that, she turned and walked away, off to find an exit back to her flyer.

"Thanks" Sorin said as Akemi made her way to leave. She had given him a lot to think about as well as telling him that he needs to talk to Audrey again. They needed to get their whole relationship thing sorted out and the best way to do that is like Akemi said and just spend time together.

As Sorin was about to leave himself, he stopped when Akemi dropped the bit of knowledge about Ignis. The fact that he can come back from the dead made sense of him willingly taking Sorin's slash back in that battle. "I'll keep that in mind. Thanks." Sorin said as he turned and walked off. If Ignis couldn't die then they needed to find a way to keep him down permanently and Sorin wasn't sure if Magigiri could do that on its own. Still it was something they needed to work on and he would mention it to Audrey when he finds her again. For now he would focus on actually finding her again.

So the swordsman walked off to head to his ship and off this world.
