(Only Sorin, Ars_Goetia [Shine], myself, and StarMech in this one. This takes place after "Sneaky and Sweet" in Gregzilla's Assorted Writings in Art and Writing, which is itself after "Ghost of the Past" in Christmas Town [in Halloween Town] for Naito, Jasmine, and Kara. In accordance with the plans laid out, Naito and the antagonist of this topic are in the latter's ship to begin with, while Jasmine and Kara, though likely aware of Naito's disappearance and that of his ship, are outside said ship and will need to infiltrate it. I'll do my best to help create and modify villainous apparatus [within reason of being allowed] as they come up.) Archcaster Holding Cells This was a bad day. Of course, that was the clearest explanation of what was going on. Waking up with a groan and a headache, not to mention some electrical burns on his cheeks, definitely gave that idea, his now even more unkempt hair only adding to that impression even more. Where was he? The last he remembered, he was flying through space near his close friends, two women, in the Hrimfaxi rocket, piloting it rather well, when he came across some assailants that were unlike any of the Heartless or Nobodies that most frequently plagued the areas. They looked like...well, from the general make, something like mechanical leeches with a high degree of clockwork aesthetics. Each of them latched on to his ship, knocking out almost everything except basic life support. He couldn't control where he was going, he couldn't even steer or call out to his friends as they were still flying, unaware of his troubles. Then came the high electric shock through the systems around him, in through the esoteric, highly advanced control system he had made, agony through his entire body... and nothing. That was, until he woke up here, which brought him back to his initial question, for himself, his ship, and his friends. Judging from the table in the corner and the complete lack of any door to this area, he had to have been brought here by some form of teleportation or matter manipulation, be it through technological or mystical means. The bars on one side, almost like a cage or cell, but the bars were very thick, and he didn't see any means to open the metal bars, either. More evidence that this was some form of space manipulator. He also saw that camera, the one in the corner. Looking at it closely, it actually looked a lot like a dragonfly, especially with the positioning and makeup of those photo-cellular eyes. Still, it appeared as mechanical as the leeches that had brought him here. If he hit it, or attacked it, would it fly away? He didn't really care. Naito Zivaku raised a hand and muttered his spell, blasting a beam of light moonlight at the camera, disliking the idea of being watched. However, the blast never seemed to make contact. The hole that opened up and absorbed his Moonbeam just before it hit the camera... that wasn't just a portal. It wasn't just a means from one end to another. No, this was not even darkness, it was nothingness. It was a vast, empty space within a pit, an eternal expanse that he felt, if he was not careful, would pull him into it. This was nothing like Yami. While he was a being that filled Naito with hatred beyond anything he had ever encountered before or since, this was fear. Other darkness was frightening due to what might be hidden beyond it, but this darkness... this black nothingness... This was the end of all if not kept under strict control. Luckily, it closed as quickly as it had opened. What was this place? Not where, but what? Was someone in control of it, or was it a sentient ship? In either case, what did they want with him? Judging from his weakness after that blast, and the pain in his arms from raising them... He looked to his right arm, specifically to the point of the most pain. Yes, there. A small dot, enough that would be enough for an injection... or was it a removal? Was he being drugged? Studied? He hated this place more and more with every passing second. He would have shouted out, but the other thoughts in his mind, the ones that were both his and not his... they told him not to draw too much attention, to wait for whatever or whoever this was to show more information. And so he went over to the table, and, making sure that there was nothing else on it, he sat on the ground before it, not trusting himself enough to sit right on top. (StarMech, if you have any problems with this one, let me know. I'm trying to help describe this place, but you can help explain the aesthetic further, in addition to what is inside it, and any discrepancies on the powers.) (And so the creepy starts. also sorry if I have to move Naito a bit slightly, nothing major.) No response for what it seemed to be the longest minutes in his life. The continuous sound of spinning gears, pumps moving and trinkets working was Naito's only company; Like a whole functional clock behind every wall. The walls of a dirty copper color, too reinforced to break through. The bars themselves seemed pretty strong, and even so something about this situation bring the thought that maybe they hide another couple of tricks for anyone brave enough to touch them. Suddenly his attention was caught by something else. A series of wails and growls coming from nearby, all from multiple sources. A glance through the bars (while avoiding their touch.) could reveal he was not the only prisoner of this clockwork complex... ...not by a long shot.... The hallways extended to far into the left, even passing a crossroad who leaded into more roads. Alongside were countless of cages; Some like his, while others designed differently. Some appeared empty, but there were plenty of others filled by either one or multiple beings. The first he could notice were the different species of Heartless and Nobodies, of many sizes regions, locked in their own individual prisons; Some of them in what it seemed escape-proof display cases. By the way they behaved; Erratically and furious, none of them seem to be enjoying their stay. Other seemed to be animals and plants; Creatures from many worlds, some Naito didn't even know about. The much more grim sight, however were of people, who by their clothes could be deduced that they had also been taken from different worlds to and sealed inside. Their groans and moans for help echoing through the room. It was a madhouse. A twisted museum where they were the exhibits. But oh was that just the tip of the iceberg, if he only knew at that moment... The noise of steps alerted him. A series of them. A swift series of clanking noises marching as he felt something getting closer. Two automatons now stood in front of the cage. They had the looks of a praying mantis but modified with small hints of beetle physiology. All carrying a clockwork motif: Big bronze gears sprouting and spinning from the cap between the arm and the shoulder. their blade hand transformed into a series of long and thing metallic hands, which just made their appearance, along side their distorted voices, just amp up the scary factor. The two robotic abominations stared at Naito for what it seemed like a minute. His focus remained on them; they were going to do something any second, it just seemed logical. However a realization made his sweat go cold: the dragonfly camera was gone! As it disappeared in a blink of an eye. He was no longer around. when did it move? How did it move? What it meant for him? Those were the kind of questions that crossed his mind. His answer lasted a mere second. Another hole, another dark purple fissure of space emerged from the nothing, right in front of his face. the firefly leaped out and pounced at his chest. Before Naito could reciprocate with something, the tail of the dragonfly stabbed him in the arm; Like a scorpion's sting. For that fraction of a second, he could see the small translucent tubes across the dragonfly's tail, while a green liquid flowed through them. It emptied as he stung him, probably using whatever drug it kept inside on him. That's when things started to get blurry, very blurry. His head was now spinning, his muscles hard like rocks. He could only stare at the robots opening the cell and stepping in before everything went black once more... ..... "Truly fascinating. Don't you agree?" Naito started to wake up. he now was in a different room. Multiple monitors hugged the walls around him. His hand trapped by hard shackles around his wrists, the same to his ankles. A blinding light was hitting him straight to the face; A lamp settled too close. To his left he could see all his weapons an items placed over a desk. Data regarding their nature flashing on some of the screens. From the corner of his eye he could see a shadow, standing long on the back, looking up at one monitor, then glancing at a small vial with what seemed to be blood. His blood. "I always considered your type to be nothing but a nuisance. Not one controlled by fate, nor the ones who make it. Nothing but a bystander, watching as the stories unfold." His voice seemed deep and filtered, somewhat robotic due to whatever covered his mouth. The shadow turned and the blonde boy was able to get a better look at it. A tall man wearing a clockwork suit, his black hair long, messy and unkempt, and his face masked by a combination of a goggles-like visor and a metallic mouth mask. He looked almost like a plague doctor who dropped the beak mask for something steampunk-like, then went down somewhere much horrifying. "To tell you the truth I was merely interested in your ship. Moon tribe technology...yes, I remember it well. Quite the diamond in the rough across the cosmos, wouldn't you agree? With such an amazing combination of magic and technology, almost divine, how could I even resist?" He spoke as he walked to the table Naito now lied on. "But fortune smiled on me and give me something even better. You..." He then stepped towards his monitor, which displayed a series of images and data, all related to him. "Some kind of hybrid; Both demonic AND angelic; Multiple cerebral wavelength patterns. Such a magnificent subject..." Edited by StarMech, Dec 7 2014, 09:19 PM.

"I still can't believe Nai's ship disappeared." Kara commented on the comm as she piloted her ship in concert with Jazz's, not doing a very good job of hiding her worry. She had gone ahead and met with Jazz, waiting for Naito for a while before realizing his ship wasn't on the radar. So she returned to her ship and began the search with Jazz's help. It was only after a long while that she found a strange ship, or should she say, a very big clockwork castle. "...Well, I think I know where Nai is. That castle is completely ridiculous." With a sigh, she brought a fist down on the console out of frustration and continued speaking through the comm. "We need to find a way into that place, ASAP. You're the sneaking expert, Jazz. Any ideas? Personally, we should scout the outskirts carefully. We need to rescue Nai now!"

Jazz too was worried about Naito. They had been trying to meet up with him and now they had no idea where he was. At least they had what looked like the place where Naito was being held. Jazz wasn't sure what to think about the giant castle but it didn't matter too much. All that mattered was that Naito was potentially being held and getting him out of there. "It's not going to be easy." Jazz replied on the comms. "Even if we found an entrance that castle is too big for the two of us to search by ourselves. We could wander for hours and still not find Naito. We need to know where he is being held and how to get to him before we can do anything. Without the proper intel then all we'd be doing is putting ourselves into unnecessary danger." Jazz knew that Kara was extremely worried and didn't blame her but the Shadow Burst had to be the calm one here. As an assassin Jazz knew going into a place like this blind was too dangerous. |

Naito did his absolute best to remain calm. If he panicked, he would likely just incense this apparent mad scientist, leading to torture. He needed to find a way to get to his weaponry, to escape. But how could he do that? He was restrained, and even if... no. He had no idea how his other half would be able to efficiently get the weapons to him. Regardless, he tried his best not to move as he spoke, his voice level, but showing his fear of his situation. That was a safe emotion to show. "Who the hell are you? What are you doing to me? What do you want? Where is my ship?" He didn't ask the last question, the one he would have asked second, where his friends were. If they were here, and he was not aware, the Moon Tribesman did not want to cause them harm by revealing their existence. He just hoped they could find their way in. |

"Your ship in still functional. After all, I wouldn't dare to destroy such a fine piece of work." The man in the armor said. "My Leech Fleet merely...immobilized it. Easy to catch and easier to empty its contents..." He leaned towards Naito's face. His own still covered by the mask, hiding the sinister smile. "My name is Doctor Owens; And for what I want? I guess you can say I'm a bit of a Collector..." He arched back, "There are so many magnificent specimens across the world. I set myself to find them and make them mine. But of course, just keep them on display isn't always the most entertaining of uses. Sometimes...I like to experiment with my specimens..." He tilted his head towards the boy quite quickly, it was almost frightening. "I'm absolutely intrigued on what makes you tick. Moon Tribe technology; a demonic corruption into your systems; And an unusual mana trace that links you back to a completely unrelated world...ah yes, I do remember playing that. What a tale that was." "How do you manage to keep both kind of opposite powers can be a valuable asset. One that i could very much use." From his gauntlet a sharp blade jumped out; A scalpel. He walked towards Naito and suddenly made a quick slice. Nothing major, just a tiny superficial cut on his cheek, making a drip of blood fall down for his fingers to catch. "A way to sooth and control both demonic and angelic powers. Yes...I can definitely find an use to that." ==================================== The space fortress seemed quite extravagant. A huge and elaborate clockwork castle, with enormous pumps and spinning gears coming out of it, all coated in a mix of bronze and silver color scheme. With how complex it looked from the outside, it was really hard to tell if there was even an entrance somewhere... However, the girls could notice something on the lower areas. A metal passage, almost like a big duct or vent, which expelled a bunch of smaller insect-like ships which then blasted into the depths of space. It seemed a bit tight, but still big enough for their ship to pass quickly. For now it was their only lead in.... ==================================== His show of mad science halted for a second, as an alarm caught his attention with a soft beeping. Dr. Owens walked to his computer and pressed some commands on the keyboard. "Interesting...seems my coordinates have been tracked. I suppose your ship still had some traces of energy left when I hauled it over here." |

"I know! But who knows what that asshole that caught Nai is doing to him right now?!" Kara commented out of frustration. But then something caught her attention and she moved the ship a bit to get a better view. She could barely make it out but there appeared to be some sort of vent in the lower area of the castle. "Hey Jazz, look there." Kara said, sending the coordinates to the former's ship. Returning to watching the vent, she watched a bunch of smaller insect-like ships being expelled from it. "I think we found our way in. We can find out where Nai is once we get inside!" And without giving Jazz a chance to stop her, Kara piloted her ship straight towards the vent. She made sure the vent was cleared of expelling the small swarm ships before redirecting the vehicle to go inside. Kara noticed it seemed a bit tight but still entered the vent, going inside into the castle. She hoped Jazz was following her and hoped any complaints she'd have over her own hastiness would be saved for later after rescuing Naito. |

"Hey hold on Kara!" Jazz called out but it was too late and Kara already went into the entrance. The Shadow Burst sighed as she shook her head. She understood how Kara was feeling as she too was incredibly worried about Naito but this isn't the type of thing you just rush right into. If they got into trouble then that would mean there was no one to help Naito. Since Kara made a choice on what they were going to do, there was nothing Jazz could do but follow her in. Even if it was a bad decision it still would be better if she was there to help Kara rather than her being by herself. "If we are going to infiltrate this place we are going to need to find a security center first of all. We need to keep whoever is the master of this place from watching us as well as finding Naito." Jazz said, hoping that Kara would listen to her now. |

Naito winced very slightly as he was cut, but did not cry out at all. Still, he was worried about what would happen. If this "scientist" was going to try to keep data on him, he would need to destroy anything he could... if he could get out of here, if he could distract him or do anything against him at all. The Moon Tribesman made sure not to move too much, not yet at least. He couldn't get to his gear in his state, all of his skill with coding useless, and all of his magic spells too uncontrolled to be of much use. He couldn't access the darker half that may have helped him, and even if he could, what would he do? However, as Owens turned his attention to incoming readings, Naito was both hopeful and worried at the same time. Hopeful, because he may have found a way to escape. Worried, because he did not know if, provided it was his friends' arrival, they would be able to get to him unharmed. Regardless, he gave a death glare to the man. "You really do not want to mess with me. Trust me on this. Some things aren't meant to be handled." |

Henry had to chuckle at Naito's warning. His eyes staring down as he lets the drips of the Moon tribesman's blood drop down on a small vial, way bigger than the content that was now poured in. His other hand finished typing the final set of commands which caused the castle to emit a series of loud clanking noises. Naito could notice how the gigantic gears around the steampunk area started to spin fast, all while the strange purple fluid started to cross through a series of pipes. "Ah, that should keep the defenses up and running." Owens said to himself before addressing Naito. "Two ship signatures have just been detected on one of my sentries' docking ports. I'll just assume some people close to you are attempting a rescue mission. After all, the evil villain captures an innocent hero and is up to his peers to accept the call to arms...the rules of this realm are so utterly predictable." With that he walked closer to the captured Converger as he continued his ego-fueled boast, "Predictable indeed. You see, that's why when you speak of "some things aren't meant to be handled", my interest just increases." "I have already stared into the abyss, my dear boy. And what did you think it happened? It stared right back...and no, not only that...it enveloped me, and so, I embraced it..." "And in the depths of that uncontrollable madness, I realized the important truth; All of this, no matter how real it is, becomes nothing but a playground when in the hands of gods. Tales of heroes, villains and bystanders like you, just caught in the crossfire, are chained by fate by the real dreamers; People like me..." The diabolical doctor leaned over the operation table, staring directly at Naito with the emotionless yet frightening eyes of his mechanical visor, as he picked up a bigger scalpel, much closer to a knife, and moved it really really close to the boy's face; Inches away from his skin. "But unlike others like me. I appreciate what this realm has to offer me. Why keep following fate, when there is so much out there? Amazing things capable of twisting the very foundation of this universe. That is what keeps me going; which makes me want to learn more about the worlds, about the heroes, and even about such insignificant yet fascinating worms like you..." Then it happened, the mask covering the mouth opened up to reveal the most crooked of smiles. In a blink of an eye, the doctor moved the knife away from Naito's face and directed it downwards; stabbing right on the left side of his body. The tool went deep, letting a stream of blood pour down. Dr. Owens just picking the vial in which the drops were put and filled it to its entirety. "I'd advice for you to sit back and cooperate. My humble abode is filled to the brim with tricks and traps that will keep your peers quite busy. Who knows? they may be interesting enough to keep around..." He said right before his mouth mask closed once more, "Now, where were we? Oh, that's right! We still need to find a way to trigger that demonic side of your subconscious. After all, the cerebral wavelengths don't lie. There is someone in there, someone who really wants to get out, and I want to know all about it..." With that, he pressed a button on his gauntlet. Naito had just a second to notice the translucent tubes connected to his hold started to flow with the purple quimical before the table activated a powerful electric shock that crossed through his entire body. The pain was far from over... ======================================== As Kara and Jazz passed through the vent, they proceeded to fly through a long tunnel; A very VERY long tunnel. In fact, it almost felt like they weren't making any progess at all! As much as the ships moved forward, the light at the end continued to be just as small. However that didn't stay like that for long. In what felt like a second, said far-away exit appeared right in front of them, catching both them and their ships by surprise. A wall, which seemed to have come out of nowhere, lead them to a rough landing, as the ships unceremoniously smacked against it and crashed on what seemed like some kind of docking station. Such an strange phenomena that was; Almost like if the castle itself bent time and space to make the tunnel long, then short; Just to make the duo crashland into its depths... Luckily, it seemed like the ships didn't receive any critical damage, giving them a means to get out of here once they saved Naito. However, The creepy buzzing noises echoing through the room were not as comforting... As soon as the two would come out of their ships. an entire swarm of robotic cicada creatures were standing up on the ceiling to greet them. Their glowing purple eyes piercing through the darkness, ready to strike.... Edited by StarMech, Jan 1 2015, 10:00 PM.

Kara continued piloting the ship through the tunnel. She was annoyed at just how long it was though and was in a hurry. But then a wall appeared and her ship collided out of surprise. "What is it with this damn excuse of a labyrinth hut?!" She complained as the ship was being led by the castle to the dock. The fact that the tunnel changed constantly like nothing made her panic a bit. For a moment, she thought she was being affected by her sickness again, making her let go of the controls and fall to the floor of the ship. Soon, it stopped and Kara took this moment to grab the seat and force herself to stand. She made a mental note to herself to check her stock after they rescued Naito and escaped. She placed on her RIG helmet and walked towards her door, Skadi placed away on her back and holding her Plasma Cutter with both hands. Kara made a display appear to communicate with Jazz. "Better prepare for a welcoming committee, Jazz." With that, she opened the door leading out of the ship, and saw that the area was clear, although she could hear some buzzing noises coming from out of nowhere. This left her a bit suspicious as she cautiously walked out of her ship. "Jazz, where would one hide to ambush someone who's getting out of a ship?" She stayed close to the ship entrance, just in case. Edited by Ars_Goetia, Jan 13 2015, 04:36 PM.

Jazz did not like this at all. Not only just charging into an unknown location without any kind of plan but the place itself. The fact it was such an impossibly long tunnel and then a sudden stop did not help. As Jazz got up she scowled a bit. There should have been no way for that to catch them off guard. It would have needed a power like the Legendary Palkia to just warp space like that. Still Jazz had to help Naito and Kara so when she saw that her companion already left her ship the Shadow Burst quickly followed after. It looked like they were alone but Jazz doubted it. When Kara asked her question, Jazz looked to where she would put an ambush, eventually looking directly up into many many pairs of glowing eyes. "Kara run." Jazz said as she grabbed her hand and ran toward the exit. They couldn't just stand and fight with so many numbers against them. |

Naito first bit back a scream as he was stabbed, trying his best not to cry out. He had to keep calm, to prevent himself from becoming irrational. He was more worried for his friends than for anything else right now, anyway. That said, he did care about his survival as well. He wasn't his brother, willing to give his all in those ways just to survive long enough to be rescued, or having enough defensive measures to make it unnecessary. This man was, of course, sorely mistaken if he believed that mere torture would bring out his other half. Mikaboshi was not just a personality. They were two halves of the same coin. He wasn't bursting to get out, but rather was the more patient one of the two of them. While Naito was nicer, Mikaboshi was more willing to wait things out, to manipulate from the shadows. It was his nature, bursting out when he saw the best advantage, using his powers to manipulate the environment, rather than to explode out and force his will on it. So yes, Mikaboshi enjoyed having some legroom. That did not mean he was the typical "evil half" this doctor was expecting. In fact, he would only come out if he felt like it, not by some external force like electrical impulses. As such, this electroshock and other kinds of pain would likely take a very long time. That wasn't to say Naito wasn't hurting, screaming in agony as he was electrocuted. (We can maybe skip a bit of Naito's part while we get further in the girls' area.) |

As the "shock therapy" proceeded, Dr. Owens turned back to his main monitor to see how things were going with his new visitors... And indeed so he found them, just taking their first steps out of their respective ships. As soon as Jazz spoke then swarm of mechanical insectoids jumped off the ceiling and took flight, dive bombing straight at the two girls with their sharp and terrifying jaws opening; all while corrosive purple goop oozed off their mouths. However, that was not fun enough for the good doctor. No, being mauled to shred by the lookout sentries so easily would be a waste. he had to study the abilities of these heroes... He pressed a button on his control panel which triggered an effect over to where Kara and Jazz were standing. As the robotic bugs were already trying to mount themselves on them to bite, a wall opened, revealing a passage that lead deeper into the fortress. However taking the drones off their selves was not going to be as easy. ((there a a lof of them and they are not that small. so don't take it as a cakewalk, okay?)) Edited by StarMech, Jan 14 2015, 12:24 PM.

Kara waited as Jazz checked the room out. But then the latter told her to run, while grabbing her arm and dragging her away. She then saw why as a swarm of mechanical bugs hoped to rush them with numbers. So she simply followed Jazz, hoping to reach the exit. However, they were still overwhelmed by the insects as a wall suddenly opened. Wincing as bit of the goop fell on her left arm, Kara used her Zephyr spell, blasting the mechanical bugs back with a blast of wind. Taking advantage of the opening, she lead Jazz through the wall that opened up, deciding to worry about that later. Right now, they needed to get to safety from the insect swarm. She didn't look back to see if the wall closed or if they were still being followed. Instead, Kara focused on searching for a place to hide for the moment or at least to lose their mechanical pursuers. "Let me know if we lost them from our trail, Jazz!" |

Jazz ran as fast as she could as she pulled Kara along with her. Still with having to look after Kara it meant that she couldn't just go invisible though she wasn't sure if it would even work against these things. Thankfully Jazz was used to pain so she was able to ignore it when they cut her or when she got some of the goop on her and run as the two of them managed to get through an opening that just popped up. The longer and longer they stayed around this place the more Jazz didn't like it. Whoever was in charge here was toying with them. "RIght." Jasmine replied simply as she and Kara tried to find a way to get away from the drones. She wasn't made for fighting and with the sheer numbers there wasn't anything they could do to fight. Running was fine for Jazz, it was something she was used to. |

The opening was quickly sealed away once the girls crossed it. The robotic insects were trapped on the other side, unable to continue chasing after them. No time for calm or celebration, however,as the floor under their feel opened so suddenly; The two Convergers falling down into darkness... It wasn't a fall tall enough to harm them, but enough to leave them unable to go back. The light of the upper room diminishing as the trapdoor closed just driving the point home. They were now in an odd chamber. Mostly in shadows except for the faint glow of blue that came from a series of huge glass tanks attached to cables and machinery. Creepy and distorted grunts and moans echoed through the cold room. shadows of hideous and malformed creature scratching at the glass as they pleaded for escape or death. One of said pods opened up in a soft whooshsound. A blur of black jumping off its prison and making the veil of darkness around its home. a pair of familiar yellow eyes suddenly popped from the pitch blackness...a Heartless? The air of mystery did not stayed for long as the released creature slowly crawled into the light: It was a Neoshadow...or what it was left of it. It was almost like it was no longer a Heartless anymore! One of its arms was completely replaced by some unfinished mechanical prosthetic. Small tubes coming out of it with a eerie purple color and connected upon its back and chest unceremoniously; Just jammed in there forcefully with some of its black ooze dripping like blood and mixed with the strange purple concoction. The other arm seemed to be lacking pieces of skin and muscle, sewed and patched together with other kinds of flesh that one could never guess where they came from; something similar around one leg, who's patching was starting to peel off and showing tendrils and muscles that clearly did not belong inside a simple Neoshadow... Cylinders of metal were stabbed upon its back, moving like pistons; as well as some other sharp pieces of shrapnel just sprouting from the creature's body for no rhyme or reason. finally, its eyes seemed normal...at least one of them; While the other was clearly a machine implanted upon it's eyes and sewed around it's eyelid. It was truly a horrific sight, even if it was just a Heartless. it's growls seemed like a mixture of feral madness and cries of agony as it came closer and closer towards the two girls. with one finally and somewhat distorted roar, it jumped at them, ready to swipe with the sharp claws of its mechanical arm. The nightmare, however, was not over. three more whooshing noises were heard; Meaning three more pods have now been opened. From one it crawled what it seemed like a man: Not heading towards anywhere but just limping before falling into the floor, screaming in pain and agony. By how pieces of his skin seemed to be replaced with strange machinery without any disregard towards his own health and sanity, could anyone blame him? "pleaseee...make it stooop..." The second pod released another transformed Neoshadow, as identical as the last one with just a few different cuts here and there. the third pod, however, crawled away into the darkness way too fast for anyone to get a first impression. Whoever was behind this, it was a true madman... |

Kara grunted as she fell to the floor, not being happy about the whole situation. As she got up, she looked at the tanks and frowned. "Okay, it's official. The owner is the insane kind of genius." She commented as one of the tanks opened and out came a Heartless. At least she thought it was a Heartless. It did look like a Neoshadow to her or what was left of it. The expression on her face would tell Jazz volumes of what she thought of the abomination in front of them. "That must really hurt." Kara knew they would have trouble with the thing in front of them. "The guy who made that thing is definitely insane. If we find whoever made that and he starts waxing philosophy on the nature of people and the like, I will be really pissed." With that, she took out her Plasma Cutter and fired it at the creature, hoping to cut off one of the limbs. "We need to take it out quick, Jazz. There's a possibility, and I'm only guessing here, that we're being watched and studied." It wouldn't be that easy though as more of those things came out from their respective tanks. "I really hate the guy that made these." Edited by Ars_Goetia, Feb 17 2015, 06:21 PM.

Jasmine felt many different emotions at once. Anger, disgust, pity were just a few of them. All of it reminded Jasmine of the time when she was first take by Team Plasma and how she had been experimented on just like the Neoshadow. The last thing Jazz wanted was another madman like Gehtsis out there, willing to do these kinds of monstrous things. "Black Disruption" Jazz whispered as a orb of darkness formed in her hands and then thrown at the Heartless which she repeated for the others. "I know. Even if those robots didn't tell them already then the fact that the trap door was activated should have. We have to find some kind of terminal or security room and figure out the layout of this place. If we can do that then we should be able to find the Prince." |

The Neoshadows were taken back, but seemed much durable than his normal counterparts. The creatures continued to crawl forward again, and suddenly leaped into the air and swiped their claws at the two girls. One of the creatures managed to jump on Jazz's back and started slashing at her. Meanwhile, the mutated human just continued to moan in constant agony. "...Kill me....please...make it stop..." In the middle of all this insane chaos, Kara felt some strange breathing, very very close to her...or rather, above her. Suddenly what it seemed like a slimy vine snagged her by the waist and lifted her up into the ceiling. There it was, the third pod creature; A nightmarish plant-like monster full of monstrous vines and a gaping mouth full of teeth. It's body seemed to show a bunch of veins glowing in a spooky purple color as the rest of it body seemed like a mix between green and grey. More vines started to move around her, grabbing her arms, legs and torso. Immobilized, a new vine sprouted out of the monster's mouth which had it's own set of smaller jaws; Like straight out of an alien movie. Without any warning, the vine bite Kara right on her neck, which send a huge pain all across her body. While she could find a way to untie herself off the creature, she could just feel something was being injected into her as the pain continued... |

Kara continued firing her Plasma Cutter at the creatures as Jazz used her magic as well. However, as she tried to reload her weapon, she felt something breathing about her. Kara moved too late to avoid the vine that grabbed her and she was pulled up. "Dammit, someone get this Barnacle off of me!" That was when she was grabbed by more of the vines and found herself restrained, forced to drop her Plasma Cutter. "Jazz, get the Cutter and use it to free me! If not, at least keep it safe!" Kara yelled down at her, immobilized as something suddenly bit her on the neck. Her voice screamed out from the pain as she felt something inject into her. Now the situation felt even more dire for her. She would not stay here and be someone's experiment or victim of one. Kara had no choice but to grit her teeth and withstand the pain, at least long enough to free herself. It was then that that her body began to turn green. That shocked her as Kara could feel her body feeling strange. Whatever was being injected to her by the creature, it was changing her. She could feel her skin rip open and something burst out through several parts of her body. Looking at her right arm, she saw the stem of a plant sprout as a leaf came out and realized what the changes meant. "I'm not gonna be another Poison Ivy!" And then she remembered her Kinesis module. Opening a hand, she activated the module and was able to get the Plasma Cutter towards her. She carefully positioned the weapon close to her left hand and was able to grab it. Once that was done, she managed to move her wrist, glad that the weapon was in the horizontal position and pulled the trigger. A cutting beam was fired, severing the tentacle biting her neck, stopping the process and a some of them. However, she was still caught and unable to move enough to free herself. As the Neoshadow jumped on her back, Jazz grit her teeth from the pain. Despite being somewhat armored her suit couldn't fully stop the Heartless' claws. Shaking it off her back and then with a swipe of her claws went right through its head. The Shadow Burst was about to target the human when Kara was caught by some kind of plant monster. Jasmine growled as an aura of Darkness appeared around her as her hands started glowing. Her anger at seeing Kara being hurt made Jazz ignore what Kara had asked and used her Metal Claws to cut through the vines that were holding her. Jazz caught Kara before they landed and bit her lip when she saw the condition that she was in. Jazz didn't want Kara to suffer through the same kind of changes that she herself went through. Kara was someone too important to Jasmine, like Naito, precious people that she wanted to protect. Seeing Kara like this and imagining what was happened to Naito made the assassin resolve to kill whoever had set this whole thing. "Kara are you okay?" Jasmine asked softly as she helped her back to her feet. |

The electrical pulses going through his body were, to say the least, not very good for him. Naito was screaming in pain, but it had also shifted somewhat, delving into laughter more and more. By his perspective, this "Doctor Owens" was an idiot. He couldn't force Mikaboshi out. It would never work. That side of his soul only emerged when he wanted to. The pain had allowed him to ignore the recorded information coming in, the video footage and audio footage coming from Kara and Jasmine's journey. Yes, he was worried, but he couldn't hear them, not well. Then came their true distress, whatever transformation was occurring in Kara. He could hear it, he could-- A shout of anger came through the laughter, and light lunar energy exploded from both of his hands, firing out randomly. He didn't mean to do it, it was an instinct, something that came from his volatile emotions at times. Fortunately and unfortunately, he had managed to accidentally hit some of the audio and visual recording equipment. Namely those that would let them directly hear what was going on, or see it. Dr. Owens would likely still be able to control the playing field to whatever degree he could, but the advantage of being able to both show Naito his tortures and be aware of which to use in what areas at what points was, for the time being, disabled. |

Owens frowned under his mask. The experiment was not progressing as smoothly as one would have hoped... The intense shock therapy was draining him, but he still showed signs of resistance. Laughter. A good psychological mechanism to deflect part of the pain which the boy was experiencing. The fact no signs of any radical shift in energy nor any emotional outbursts made it feel like this would be much more difficult than he anticipated. He glanced back at the security feed. At least he had the opportunity to test out more of his multiple experiments. The Neoshadows were scraps; Simple tests for a much bigger project. However, the second creature was different; A mutation between an earlier, much less refined version of his Cruor concoction mixed with a series of different carnivorous plant specimens. As the creature bite into Kara and her body started to change, his smile became wider. He had not anticipated this, but as they said, some of the biggest discoveries are made by mere accidents. He knew that well. IF it ended in death, it would show the effectiveness of the plant mutant's poison; however, if she survived, it could be an interesting experiment to see how a mutated version of the Cruor could twist and corrupt other beings. Prehavs the girl's magic or cybernetic implants allowed her to somewhat halt this primitive compoud inside and transform it into soemthing new by manipulating the vegetable element? This was such an interesting otucome... That's when something snapped him out. Turning back he saw Naito do something unexpected: an emotional outburst to what was happening on-screen allowing him to unleash his powers while in the middle of the shock session. Of course, this thoughts were just going through his mind, as his body was actually ducking, right as the lunar energy beam almost hit him on the head and impacted on his monitors instead; Cutting any visual and audio feedback to the girls. Owens did not like that. If there was something he did not like when he was caught unprepared. However, as disgusted as he was, he saw the positive side of things... "I see..." He said to Naito. His voice cold, but easy to tell he was angry. He pressed a button on his gauntlet and the electricity stopped. "Simple torture is not going to generate an emotional disruption. But I think I now know what will...yes, quite obvious really. It's always the same with you heroic-types..." Now he sounded angrier. "However..." A stab... "Bad children should be still be punished." Another Stab.... The doctor pushed the two bigger knives he just stabbed on Naito's side further, digging down the skin and causing extreme pain. "It won't kill you." He clarified, " But its much more fun see what you can live through..." He walked back to his keyboard and pressed some commands. "Do not believe that little stunt was anything but a minor setback. Even without feedback, I can at least give your precious friends some extra entertainment to keep them busy." He pressed one more button and then turned to him.He was smiling again, even if the boy couldn't see it under his mask. "And who knows what could happen? Thanks to you we may never know in time...do you believe they'll be safe?" ============================== The Neoshadow's head just bursted apart thanks to jazz's attack. The body dissipating as Heartless usually do, but much slower. However what remained where all the wires and mechanical parts that were both inside and outside of the creature. Thanks to her claws and Kara's Plasma Cutter, the tentacles that restrained the gadgeteer were sliced apart; the abomination screeched in pain. The second Neoshadow was still alive, however, and quickly leaped to claw at the two again. To make matters worse, a door suddenly opened at the end of the room. A big door. From there a bulky robot stomped in. Its design similar to a kabuto beetle, but just like with the previous insect droids, it showed the strange purple compound crossing through a series of tubes under its shell. Most importantly, its horn was somewhat shaped like a big cannon; Which was right now charging a big energy ball to shoot at them! Still, there was a light out of the tunnel, and it was the opened door itself. If they managed to slip past the robotic tank, maybe they could continue further into the castle... |

Kara found herself falling a bit before being caught by Jazz. She didn't register that much though, since her body was still undergoing a transformation. Pain still coursed throughout her body, as she grabbed the plants growing out of her and ripped them off. She was unaware of the danger that had increased since she got freed with Jazz's help. "W-we need.... t-to gaaAAAAAHHH!" Was what she could force out from her mouth, her body still being unstable from the injection from the plant creature. It was fortunate for her that it was having a different effect on her. But the process was still very painful for the engineer and stems were still growing despite removing the plants that came out from under her skin. Kara kept a grip on Jazz, needing her help to stay steady. But her body was still in a lot of pain and she could barely focus on anything else, especially the possible escape route. |
