(For myself and Sorin only. This is set after the timeskip, after Ignis' part in "Arkham Chronicles Book 2: Arkham Assault" in Art and Writing. This will also be the start of an arc for him and Yuki, dubbed the "Corrupted Yuki" arc.) It had been quite some time since he stepped out in the worlds. For most Convergers, it would've seemed like eight months, likely even more. For Ignis Fatuus, it had been a good ten years before he found the need to return. It was going to be some time before he and the Scarecrow would carry out the next phase of their plans. Until that was to come to fruition, he decided to leave the world for now, still keeping in contact with his fellow master of fear whilst he went about testing his own brand of toxin. For the most part, he kept a low profile, working in the shadows. Every time he had come close to being spotted, he would always disappear without a trace before continuing in another world. His previous career as a traveling magician was also kept on hold for the time being, finding no need to entertain those unaware while he had more important things to do. The choice of world would seem atypical, being one that belonged to a Princess of Heart and other, annoyingly friendly characters. But there was a good reason for this choice. While Snow White and her beloved Prince now inhabited the castle that once belong to the evil Queen, they never bothered to look into the lower levels, where the Queen's chemistry lab remained untouched after her defeat. It proved to be useful in developing his toxin further, all the while remaining undetected. At this time, he had left the castle behind, finding no need in terrorizing the happy couple (for now). Instead, he reappeared in the Deep Woods, deciding that the woodland creatures would be far better test subjects for his formula. From behind a tree, the Nightmare magician witnessed as two hares, once peaceful and friendly, turned rabid after being injected, attacking each other in a blind rage. It was a sight to behold, especially for those who were more familiar with the unrealistically adorable design of the world's animals. Ignis' expression was unchanging at the scene, merely thoughtful on the process. "A small dose of the toxin seems to merely turn the creatures violent. Any stronger would probably be too much to handle for them." He took note of a patch of grass beside him, going from a lively green to a dried brown. "Exposure to the contents also appears to be deadly to plant life. I will have to keep this in mind in the case Miss Ivy ever works against us." In almost stark contrast to his near melodramatic facade and prone to bursts of anger, the man was a lot more calm and mindful, thinking ahead rather than letting his own pride get the better of him. A decade's worth of patience would give some perspective on that part, as well as self-injecting of the fear toxin like a personal drug. His previous outbursts and intentions were almost forgotten about, finding more focus in developing this fluid than merely finding a hapless young woman to replace his manifestor. Of course, not everything was completely over with. The minute the girl with power over dreams crossed his mind, his fists curled in, the hand that held the needle-attached glove scraping against the tree. Even after all this time, he never forgot his petty obsession over her, his anger at her turning on him so. By now, she had probably realized he was merely a product of her fragile mind. However, in spite of his fury in regards to her, he reasoned that even if she had realized the truth, he was still standing here, doing whatever he pleased. Even if she realized it, she was far from getting over her personal issues. And now that he had access to the fear toxin, he could bring them into the fore without resorting to his magic, knowing that she would have no chance to fight back against a drug. The time for simple payback would come at a different time, however. For now, Ignis would continue to focus on his work, look into the other side effects of his chemicals. He would need to find another 'willing' subject in order to see how far the effects would go. |

One thing Yuki discovered during these past few months, it was that she liked hiking. Just going out in nature and taking a walk was rather relaxing and the fact that nothing really big has happened in some time did help that as well. Though things still weren't exactly perfect, after all Yuki still hadn't gotten in touch with her sister ever since the fight the two had. Yuki knew that she had been in the wrong after meeting with Roz, Xelha and Kalas but it was tough to go to her sister and apologize even now. Still Yuki took the moment to stretch her wings out. While she had at first hated the things now that she had used them so much they felt normal. Sure she still couldn't use them to fly but gliding was possible and another fun thing that she had discovered. While humming cheerful, Yuki continued her hike, unaware that her path was leading her right towards an old 'friend'. |

At the moment, Ignis had been about to find more critters to test on, before he would move on to another world to continue his experiments. However, the sound of a girl humming brought him to stop in his tracks, hiding behind a tree again before he would be spotted. At first, he thought it was Snow White herself, frolicking the woods like the naive woman she was while singing to herself. As he peered to look, however, he blinked in surprise as he saw that that wasn't the case. Funny how the thought of unhappy young women would cross his mind and he would find none other than Miss Yuki Masami immediately after. Indeed, he remembered the little demoness, how he strung her along, acted the dreamy young man in her eyes, even made her believe that her sister was a monster. However, with a glimpse into her memories, he saw that she now knew the truth, or most of it, at least. That he was nothing more than a despicable liar, not even human. That he was the real monster all along. Not that he was upset in the slightest at that. As amusing as that time was, he knew it was bound to happen after the encounter with Miss Rikka; it was why he took a detour to the Arkhamverse in the first place. He barely even had any desire to try and keep her at his side again, his focus in working on his toxin outweighing any need to lure her back in. However, it was the thought of his toxin that had him considering his options. He did have the idea of actually turning this girl with his powers, in order to make her permanently subservient. But with the liquid infused with his own magic, perhaps he could kill two birds with one stone. He would have a test subject to see just how far the effects of the drug would go, and he would have Yuki as a loyal ally, whether she wished to or not. So, he stepped out into the clearing, in plain sight of the demoness. His face held no expression, making no attempt at fooling her with a mask of kindness and interest. His tone of voice as he spoke was calm, collected...cold. "Hello, Yuki." |

Yuki hadn't noticed there was anyone around and would have happily kept going until she heard someone call out to her. She recognized the voice but the tone was completely different than what she remembered. Slowly Yuki turned to look at Ignis. It had been several months since she was last saw him and then learned the truth about him but even with that knowledge to see the difference between how she remembered him and how was acting now was startling. He knew that she knew what he was really like and wasn't bothering to hide it anymore. She didn't say a word as Yuki took a step back, her wings and talons appearing as the temperature started to drop. She didn't know what Ignis wanted but now that she knew how dangerous he actually is, she wasn't going to take any chance. |

For a moment, Ignis expected a more typical response, a look of shock and fear in seeing him again. However, when he saw her prepare her talons and wings, felt the temperature dropping, he had to frown. So she too had been improving, no longer lost control of her powers at the drop of a hat. It went on to show just how much time had passed in the worlds when she was no longer the scared little girl that she was before. Not that he was too bothered or even worried about that. As the temperature dropped, he instinctively summoned his black flames around his left arm, both to combat the cold and to remind the demoness of his own powers. "And here I thought you hated being a 'monster'," he said curtly. As he no longer had any desire to hide the truth, he would no longer downplay her demonic features. He continued to speak, his tone and expression still without emotion, "Now, Yuki, if I were you, I would back down right away. I can see you have improved on your skills...but so have I." He held up his other arm then, revealing the needles attached to the glove, the reinforced tanks on his forearm that held the fluid of his toxin, fluctuating between orange, a deep violet, and black. "This toxin was made in conjuncture with a fellow chemist. If this were to be injected, you would not only face your greatest terrors, but you may become something far worse than you are right now. "So I leave you a choice. You could either stand down, take control of your powers, and allow me the chance for a 'civilized' talk...or you can attack me like you attacked those pirates and your own sister, and force me to either use this toxin or obliterate you with my flames. Which will it be, my 'dear', 'little' Yuki." |

Yuki flinched, seeing how Ignis wasn't even trying to hide how he really was, as well as bringing up how she had acted back when she traveled with him. They were things that she regretted but at the same time, hearing him talk only served to increase her resolve. She wasn't going to let him get to her anymore. "Shut up!" Yuki told him giving him the best glare that she could. "You lied to me and wanted to use me, so we have nothing to talk about!" Yuki was upset but she hadn't reached the point of losing control. While she did her best to hide it, Yuki was still worried about fighting Ignis. She had grown stronger and gained greater control over her powers but the toxin and the flames were worrying. She did know that those flames weren't normal but at the same time, neither was her ice so she felt that the would be equal in that regard which left the toxin. With that glove all she had to do was stay away and keep him from getting close to her to use it. It should be enough to either win or to escape. |
