The faint chirp of crickets echoed all throughout the visible bog. Everything was waking up from the wet slumber they had the previous night. Ellorie had never been much for sleep, she usually leaned over her branch, letting her paws dangle as she stared down into the fog, which somehow got to the point of being so thick, you could only see figures or shadows move across the ground. Her green-blue eyes scanned the area. She was hungry. Swiping her tongue across her lips, she stood up carefully, making sure not to lose balance on the narrow branch as she inched her way towards the trunk. Digging her claws into the bark she began to slide down, until she was at a good distance to jump. She sprang from the tree and landed in a soupy puddle of mud, which of course, splashed up into her coat. Great. Now I'll have to get that out. She mumbled silently in her head. Sighing, she continued onward, not looking forward to her bathing time in the bog. |

Staring at the she-cat, Septer slowly looked up, feeling a little better, and not as worried.she took a deep breath, and sighed. "I'm Septer, and nor do I mean harm." Septer was a little afraid to make a friend. she had never had a friend before. Septer relaxed and shook her fur down. "Why have you come here? I've never seen another like me. are you from around here, or have you come from far?" Septer had a problem with trusting others. She wanted information about the she-cat before she became friends. Septer took a step forward, smelling the air, trying to sense the cats fear, or if she had any. She didn't sense any, but she wondered what the stranger was thinking. |

The Toyger found herself smiling, and she sat down, rapping her bone-y tail over her paws. "Nice to meet you, Septer." She mewed, tilting her head slightly as the pale she-cat walked forward, only then did she notice the large scar the she-cat bared. She wanted to ask how it got there, but that would be rude, so she didn't say anything, and looked back up into Septer's eyes."I camp in a near by oak. I was released a few sunrises ago, and I walked for quite a while. I've been camping in the same spot for 2 nights. I planned on moving today." She finished, and then flicked her tail cheerfully while adding, "What about you? How long have you been on your own?" |

Septer shifted her weight onto her other side, and looked around. "I have lived here my whole life. my mother, and two brothers lived peacefully in a small barn. My brother was taken away when I we were all young. A few weeks later after that, there was a fire on the farm, and my mother could only save one of us. She choose me over my other brother, because I could have kittens, and could carry the family on. While she was saving me..." Septer sighed and looked into Ellorie's eyes, "She .. she couldn't make it out herself. I waited and waited in the clearing of the field, where she said she would meet me, but, s- she never did." Septer shook the memory away, and smiled. "I haven't had the heart to leave this place. This tree was right over the barn we called home. it was the only thing in the field that survived.. well, it and me, so i feel that we have a connection. I know its silly, but... I just cant leave it. enough about me, wheres your family, if you don't mind me asking." |

The she-cat found herself frowning by the end of Septer's story. She felt bad for her, her family just falling apart like that. She had to be so young, so unsure."I-I'm so sorry to hear that." She mewed, wanting to comfort her, but found that that was inappropriate for their first encounter. "There's always hope though, your mother could still be searching!" She mused, trying to make the mood a little brighter, maybe give the pale Mau a little confidence. The next question kind of struck Ellorie, but she swallowed and answered. "I never really had much chance of knowing my family. My father was running off on adventures... he was one of those cats who wanted to see what was beyond the fog." She paused, chuckling as brief images of her bulky dad flashed through her mind. "My mother on the other had slept. She was ill, all the time. I don't really know what happened to them, because they pushed me out without explanation I've kind of had to teach myself how to survive, and well- here I am." She finished, she tried to hide a glimpse of homesickness on her expression and grinned. |

"Well, did you ever think that your father was right? There is a lot of the world to see, and personally, I don't want to be stuck in this tree forever, even though its my home." Septer looked up at the tall oak tree, and sighed. Looking back at Ellorie, she smiled and mewed, "I just decided, I will leave this memory, and make new, better ones. It might sound crazy, but I'm up for it, and i invite you,if... um, ya want." Septer purred at the thought of starting over, and really living, making her life worthwhile. "And i really hope you don't have any plans for a while. Your not bad! And coming from me, that's a complement." Septer walked forward, and faced the she-cat she had just met, and looked into her eyes, "If you want to live a life of adventure, join me. I hope to first explore the bog around here, then maybe out to the mountains.. and... and, well, we will get there when we get there." She flicked her tail in delight, hoping for a positive answer from Ellorie. |
