What do you plan to do Roach Related this year?

None :(. My wonderful wife has drawn the line at roaches in the house. Don't want to push it (even though I do feed some Dubias very quietly from time to time :).

Yeah don't wanna push it. My mum won't let me keep them either. I will though once I'm older. Lucky for me she doesn't know Dermestids are Flesh Eating Beetles :P .

I find it funny how she'd let you keep something that could potentially kill you if you got bit but won't let you keep roaches, I'm pretty sure feeder roaches can't hurt you.

I would forego the roaches for the permission to keep my HOT species anyday. I think it is probably because I keep all my enclosures locked at all times but the crickets.....they turn up all the time. Quick little buggers. Always lose one or two on feeding day.

She lets you keep crickets, I assume you aren't breeding them because those things can make quite a stink!

That is why I don't want to breed them! They are a royal pain. I usually buy them every couple of weeks at the reptile show. Buy three - four different sizes due to the size of my collection. Works out pretty good.

Would work out even better if you had a roach colony though ;)

Ha ha, well it would, various nymph sizes and such.

Plus the savings in the long run if you could get a big colony going would be good.

I agree. Some day she may reconsider. But, still happy she let's me be Spider-Man for now. Heading to the reptile show this weekend. Going to pick up pinheads, small crickets, large crickets, XTRA large crickets, silkworms, and hornworm caterpillars for the guys. Going to be a big feeding day at my house! Only one show in July so I have been really scrapping keeping them all fed this month.

I bet, I'm happy all my inverts don't need food like that, just meat [no more dog food, meat now so they breed faster]

The feeding part is the fun part with spiders. Lots of ACTION.
