So City splash the £57 plus mill on Laporte, that means Man City's spending just on just their defence alone exceeds the defence budget of of more than 52 countries.
Now by many accounts they are attempting to lash a further a further £55 mill on Mahrez today.
How do FS we can compete with anyoneG compete with that?

Our owners will not spend money... Yet we have expanded the ground , employed one of the most sought after managers in world football , and look on course to qualify for the champions league ,the second Season running , for the first time since Rafa was in charge, we have bought the worlds most expensive defender , and an attack that have scored more goals than everyone bar the league leaders.
The players we sold were want away players , determined to move to another club , they got their wish ,,, 99.9 % of players do.
We are progressing , no panic buys, no buying to buy,, klopp seems to be building a squad ,,, rember when the great Liverpool teams of the past were comprised of players bought from lower leagues, or teams.... Not good enough anymore it would seem.
Just spilled some milk... Going to cry over it !!

It's all very well having the Fab 4, we had a Fab 4, 4 years ago when we had arguably the best team in the league, Suarez, Sterling, Gerrard and Sturridge and they've all Fabbed Off (Yeah we know about Gerrard )
Tannoy System: "Will Mr. Mo Salah please call to the departure lounge. Will Mr Mo Salah, please attend the departure lounge where your Spanish connection and visitors await" ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Let's HOPE not hey!!!!!

We'll find out who stays and who goes in the summer and with the world cup as well. Prices will escalate so Arsenal getting the PEA for £56m is a bargain...
I wonder if we have thought about injuries to Firmino, Salah or Mane....we're up shit creek ! Where' the quality back up ?

This is the really serious concern, we lose Firmino and or say Mane and it's a question a tactical overall and or bringing in 'kids', or the likes of Ings, who is rusty to say the least, let's HOPE Wooburn is ready to be set alight and Solanke proves slinky.
Allowing Sturridge to go and not bring is serious back-up (in all probability to offset VVD's wages) could prove very short-sighted indeed, as usual we must live on a hearty diet of HOPE upon HOPE - should be used to it by now I suppose

Yeah I know, so in my book that's tactical accommodation which I do mention , when something is not broken the old adage is don't fix it, so for me if say Booby gets broken the ideal would be continuity in terms of a fluid striker, in the formation that up to now has proved quiet lethal, a striker therefore with some 'goal' potency (PEA would have been ideal). None of those players mentioned are strikers, in point of fact their goal returns hitherto in their careers are average tending to poor.
So as I say we must continue on living in HOPE. Cheers

Mane and Salah are both more than capable of playing in the middle if needed. In fact, they do play through the middle at times during games as part of the front three switching positions. Buying PEA would have meant we'd have had to leave one of the front three out. Which one would that have been?
Once Man City buy up all the top players , even though they are walking away with the Prem. They will then loan out selected players to other clubs to try and ensure other clubs are stronger against opponents whilst weaker when playing against the parent club.
It is basically a monopoly based on the Chelsea blueprint under Roman , but he cannot compete now and appears to have given up to a degree.
How long then will it be before sides field reserves against City knowing that the only chance of getting a result would be to bust a gut and risk injuries to players playing out of their skins?
How long then before fans get fed up of a Scottish like situation where one club wins the league every year just be starting the season?
Then once the fans drift away , football goes back to its 70 s slump in attendances.
FFP is nowhere to be seen and the respective F A s need to do something about the uneven nature of football everywhere.
If City continue as they are it would be a very good reason for other clubs including ours ( certainly FSG would approve) to give up spending large amounts and just accept the inevitability .

lets be honest no one is ever going to spend like man city or abromavich did..we know that.
fsg are being very frugal..but perhaps they know it is risky to spend like city have unless you realy have that kind of money.
getting top 4 imo is success now...
what would go a long way to getting people on the side of fsg is if they were realy up front about how they are operating lfc..then fans can see clearly and adjust. otherwise they will contiinualy be cast as shysters.

Nar! Both Mane and Salah are more than capable of getting injured also, most especially our Sadio, also again that is tactical accomodation taking us away from THE working formula, they are in the main or even Mane, wide players.
All Top teams have at least at 3 quality strikers. Have you noticed at this point in time CJ we are once again in January and our season to virtually to a fan, now looks like its over, in terms of us winning a trophy?
I live in HOPE of us taking the ECL which I think we can, however, even I optimistic Snig, would feel a lot safer in my projection, if we had some serious striker cover. Jurgen could easily have accommodated PEA, no probs at all - at the moment Jurgen is in rotation mode is he not? I mean what was that last night involving the curer of our defensive ills, VVD? Cheers

Picture Spurs without Harry Kane. Chelsea without Hazard. United without Lukaku (see what I did there)? Why then, do we have to read posts like this worruing about injury to players?
Neither of these sides have the luxury of all three players capable of contributing to the goal scoring.
We are the second highest scorers in the league, and our own England striker cant get a sniff.
It is fair to say that introducing a target man to our side, like Kane, would change the approach to how we attack, and create the dependency others are trying to invent here. We are not the same as all the other teams. Not saying its optimal without a recognised striker, but we can field 3 goal threats each time we play.
Firmino, Salah and Mane are all not strikers apparently. Other teams give the left knacker for one of our non-strikers.

Simply living in the present Dickie. Got a crystal ball have we?
What's that new saying, the deluded informing or attempting to delude others? Or somfin like that Their last European Final was 1970. However, since Mansour took the reins, the crucial issue in all of this, they have won 2 League Titles, 2 FA Cups, 1 League Cup. One of those seasons constituting a double. They look like they have this seasons Title in the bag and are in yet another Final (TLC) being far superior thus far to any team in the League. We have won one League Cup in 13 years and not won the Title for 28.
They have risen to overtake us as a footballing force and in terms clout we just cannot compete, hence they can take our best of us, as per Sterling. They are now ready to make a serious assault on the ECL, dem am de facts unfortunately. Cheers
