Our owners will not spend money... Yet we have expanded the ground , employed one of the most sought after managers in world football , and look on course to qualify for the champions league ,the second Season running , for the first time since Rafa was in charge, we have bought the worlds most expensive defender , and an attack that have scored more goals than everyone bar the league leaders.
The players we sold were want away players , determined to move to another club , they got their wish ,,, 99.9 % of players do.
We are progressing , no panic buys, no buying to buy,, klopp seems to be building a squad ,,, rember when the great Liverpool teams of the past were comprised of players bought from lower leagues, or teams.... Not good enough anymore it would seem.
Just spilled some milk... Going to cry over it !!
It's all very well having the Fab 4, we had a Fab 4, 4 years ago when we had arguably the best team in the league, Suarez, Sterling, Gerrard and Sturridge and they've all Fabbed Off (Yeah we know about Gerrard )

We haven't had the best team in the league ,, since the last time we won the league ,,, the best team wins the league ,, no argument about it.

Guess you missed CTR, certainly in the paradoxical sense the word arguably in the post? People will argue over and against anything, even when the evidence is overwhelmingly against the position they take. It's one of humankind's most disastrous weaknesses and results in tons of obfuscation, vagueness, agony and shit. Thereby the position taken is logically tenable given the human disposition, a disposition know to us all or should be, dint of our being human.
THE ABOVE CONTRIBUTION IS SIMPLY AN OPINION. I AM NOT LOOKING TO BITTERLY ARGUE OR FALL OUT BUT RATHER MATURELY DEBATE MATTERS SHOULD IT DIFFER FROM YOURS

We arguably have the best team in the league today, but it will conveniently come without a trophy for those who'd see that as the requirement. Which it clearly is.
In the end, you can only lay your hat on one head. Unless you are the two headed sort.

I think you should add 'stupidity' and 'self-deception' to your list of mankind's human frailties, Snigs.
Once Man City buy up all the top players , even though they are walking away with the Prem. They will then loan out selected players to other clubs to try and ensure other clubs are stronger against opponents whilst weaker when playing against the parent club.
It is basically a monopoly based on the Chelsea blueprint under Roman , but he cannot compete now and appears to have given up to a degree.
How long then will it be before sides field reserves against City knowing that the only chance of getting a result would be to bust a gut and risk injuries to players playing out of their skins?
How long then before fans get fed up of a Scottish like situation where one club wins the league every year just be starting the season?
Then once the fans drift away , football goes back to its 70 s slump in attendances.
FFP is nowhere to be seen and the respective F A s need to do something about the uneven nature of football everywhere.
If City continue as they are it would be a very good reason for other clubs including ours ( certainly FSG would approve) to give up spending large amounts and just accept the inevitability .
The club with the deepest pockets stands the best chance of getting the best players. In the first Moores era, that was our club. No longer. So we have to try something different, like a manager and coach who can spot players with potential and develop them, who doesn't need to be a manager with the most wealthy owners, who gets value for money in his players, and can prove it with success on the field. Oh, wait!!! Don't we have one of those???? He should be supported at every turn, actually, until his methods have been shown to be misguided. That doesn't mean dissecting him and his methods after every defeat by every armchair pundit on the planet. Quit moaning, please, and let the man do his job.
Gomez, TAA, Robertson, Firmino, Can, Oxlaide Chaimberlain, Wijnaldum, Mane are all names that come to mind as being/becoming better players under Klopp
TAA? Gomez? Robbo? Developing year for them, I would suggest.
United won many titles because their excellent manager sniffed out players like Scholes, Beckham, Nevilles, etc. Paid zilch for most of them, and they became the spine of a great side. This is nothing new in football. Its rather become a dying art if you ask me. Shanks, Fagan and Paisley all did it before United.
Its just that most of today fans see City and Chelsea spending as the only proven method and therefore choose to shit all over the owner and manager for being cheap or ignorant (or a fool). Disappointing that Liverpool fans see it that way, if I am being honest. Our own success story was built on both building, and buying the best. Surely we are taking those steps with Klopp. Cant see how anyone would argue otherwise, to be honest.
Nothing wrong with any of the 3 developing players I mentioned, considering our season to date? Next year, they will be stronger for the experience.

For an attacking style manager, off the back of the fab 4 purple patch..... We are saying the defenders are being developed 🤔
JB - i get the feeling you are "hoping" for the side you support to falter.......
Is this to say "I told you so"?
I don't think anyone doubts the obvious frailties in our club. Certainly not me, but the negativity surrounding many of the fans is a little disappointing, if I am being honest. To be honest, I only find it as widespread on this LFC forum.

5 of the 8 I mentioned aren't defenders. You keep on filtering out any info that doesn't agree with your view.
3 were common between you and HW... I followed up a response for the other 5. Ie completely dismissed them.
Ox? Winaldum? Mane? What the gera.nium looooool
I'll concede on firminho.
When we buy Mane, JB complains about Mane not being good enough. Mentions the fab 4 and how well they've been playing. Instantly argues that Klopp hasn't developed Mane.
You asked for players who have developed under Klopp. You got a list of players who have developed under Klopp.
Alan Hansen was our starting left Back in the '77 Bruges European Cup Final at Wembley. A nobody from Partick Thistle. He was probably played to give him a taste of the big match atmosphere. Rest is sort of history.
Clemance, Heighway, Hall, Keegan etc. were all nobodies who also became greats. We mixed them with big signings like Dalglish and Souness, who came as part of the overall plan to build an invincible side.
You have to start somewhere. People have seen City become an overnight success by spending. Likewise with Chelsea. That's what todays fan wants. English fans (includeing many of our own) have forgotten football masters like SHanks, Paisley, Fagan, and Ferguson. Brian Clough.
Just how sustainable is such spending, and that approach, if you are not developing players (like Gomez, TAA, Robbo) along the way? Not at all IMHO.

Mane hasn't really changed from before LFC days. Winaldum was an average player before he signed us... And nothing as changed....
Emre is playing the same as when he joined us....
The ox has done gera.nium all.....
Scraping the barrel.

Mane has obviously developed as a player. Going from a mid table team to one now in the CL and performing well whilst doing it.
Can is clearly better than when he first joined us. Why even make such a silly point?
Wijnaldum was playing for a poor Newcastle team, again, now a mainstay in a team in the top four.
Ox is still in the process of getting used to the system, but is capable of putting in performances like he did at Man City. When was the last time he played like that at Arsenal?
Are any of them perfect players? Of course not, there's still work to be done on all of them. But they are all still relatively young and not yet finished in their development as footballers.
Were mistaking developing players or spotting good buys as something extraordinary. You cant build teams slowly and improve them in the PL with the target of one day winning the league when you have to compete with three rival clubs that can drop 200-300 million at any transfer window , just because they can and want to. As things stand today, under FSG the very realistic best that Liverpool can hope for is a 4th finish ( CL money ) and the odd domestic Cup. We are trying to be Arsenal circa 05-15 just without the the few FA Cup wins.
The front three that Klopp has now on their day play exhilarating football and are a joy to watch and as a fan that brings me much happiness on those game days. We had the Fab 4 up until 20 days ago but that's ok, who can deny anyone a move to Barcelona.
Manchester are fully loaded, running away with the PL now, in the hunt for all 4 attainable trophies, have a deep squad but already forked out another 57 mil for a back up defender just in case they may need him and looking to also buy Mahrez to bolster the squad even more. Sanchez to United , major upgrade for them etc Abramovic rebuilds his teams every two years and changes managers but yet the money at his disposal always guarantees trophies.
How on earth can Klopp compete with that ? As efficient, energetic that he is etc , in my opinion he's doing a fantastic job and I cant see who can be a better management for this FSG run Liverpool.
It just hurts a bit the WBA defeat the ither day, as hoping for a real go at winning this damn cup but I figure the player on the day collectively happened to be in a funk type mood and blew it with their diabolical defending. Hope they do sign in the Summer a damn steady GK and maybe one more defender and a DM so at the very least those fiasco games can be eliminated.

Yeah but that's still not developing them though? Mane, ox, winaldum are not doing anything different from their time at their previous clubs. Firminho has played the false 9 has improved his overall play and increased his goal tally. That's development. The rest have not developed.

For all their spending, and your defence of this method of building a side, please remind me exactly how many European Cup Finals Chelsea and City have graced with their presence, in the last 5-10 years.
I would argue that more efficient spending along with developing younger players into your side a much more sustainable approach. I submit Manchester United and Ourselves as evidence. With 8 European Cups between them, and a resplendent history of trophies second to none in Britain.
But hey, why live in the past?

Aside from the now typical thread of argument you two find yourselves spiralling into. The point that Robbo, TAA and Gomez are being groomed by Klopp has not been denied. Klopp is building and buying as he sees fit. Lump it or leave it. That is whats happening.
Maybe FSG are not backing him. Maybe they are. No one on Kop This knows - no matter how smart they fancy themselves to be. Klopp doesn't complain like previous managers have. Accepts his own teams poor performances and doesn't hide.
Klopp is a breath of fresh air in terms of his lack of the bullshit gene.
