Who is being developed?
TAA? Gomez? Robbo? Developing year for them, I would suggest.

United won many titles because their excellent manager sniffed out players like Scholes, Beckham, Nevilles, etc. Paid zilch for most of them, and they became the spine of a great side. This is nothing new in football. Its rather become a dying art if you ask me. Shanks, Fagan and Paisley all did it before United.

Its just that most of today fans see City and Chelsea spending as the only proven method and therefore choose to shit all over the owner and manager for being cheap or ignorant (or a fool). Disappointing that Liverpool fans see it that way, if I am being honest. Our own success story was built on both building, and buying the best. Surely we are taking those steps with Klopp. Cant see how anyone would argue otherwise, to be honest.

Nothing wrong with any of the 3 developing players I mentioned, considering our season to date? Next year, they will be stronger for the experience.
The Scholes, Beckham, ......etc. era was the last of its kind, because they were all English players in a league which was still largely English, with a few exceptions. The league was already in a transition to becoming a majority foreign player/manager league, but these players were good enough to form the spine of a top, trophy winning team. Nowadays, the likes of Lewis Cook and Jake Livermore get to wear the England colours. You won't win silverware that way. The Spaniards are the main source of recruits now, with Germans starting to make their mark, on the field and behind the bench. Ten years on it might be different, but you won't win trophies by parking scouts on the terraces of the Championship clubs.

I'm so bored of reading the same self-important guff over and over again.

Barca were dumb enough to give us 140 million for Coutinho. Now he's suddenly been transformed into our best ever player in some peoples heads and apparently the reason that we weren't able to break down Swansea and why we lost to West Brom. The fact that we failed to beat those teams with him in the team is conveniently forgotten. He's a good player, great even. But he's never worth 140 million.

I'm honestly getting to the point where I just don't care about football anymore. I rapidly getting to the point where I don't care who spends what and when, because its all so far from the realms of being reasonable amounts that it all becomes meaningless. I just want to watch the match and be entertained. Thats about it for me these days. All these amateur accountants just should just go and read a spreadsheet, go on an excel forum and bore the shit off them all on there instead.
Haha  great stuff CJ.

When Suarez left, he was our most important player and we heavily relied on him. Coutinho is not on the same level as the biter and we were not reliant on him, as we proved when we won matches while he went on strike (fake injuries), earlier this season.

Klopp has proved that he will get the right player in time. Obviously not ideal for us to not have a replacement for Phil, but I would prefer to wait, rather than get someone in who Klopp doesn't want.

Our owners will not spend money... Yet we have expanded the ground , employed one of the most sought after managers in world football , and look on course to qualify for the champions league ,the second Season running , for the first time since Rafa was in charge, we have bought the worlds most expensive defender , and an attack that have scored more goals than everyone bar the league leaders.

The players we sold were want away players , determined to move to another club , they got their wish ,,, 99.9 % of players do.

We are progressing , no panic buys, no buying to buy,, klopp seems to be building a squad ,,, rember when the great Liverpool teams of the past were comprised of players bought from lower leagues, or teams.... Not good enough anymore it would seem.

Just spilled some milk... Going to cry over it !!
It's all very well having the Fab 4, we had a Fab 4, 4 years ago when we had arguably the best team in the league, Suarez, Sterling, Gerrard and Sturridge and they've all Fabbed Off (Yeah we know about Gerrard ;) )

Tannoy System: "Will Mr. Mo Salah please call to the departure lounge. Will Mr Mo Salah, please attend the departure lounge where your Spanish connection and visitors await" ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Let's HOPE not hey!!!!! :))
We haven't had the best team in the league ,, since the last time we won the league ,,, the best team wins the league ,, no argument about it.
Guess you missed CTR, certainly in the paradoxical sense the word arguably in the post? People will argue over and against anything, even when the evidence is overwhelmingly against the position they take. It's one of humankind's most disastrous weaknesses and results in tons of obfuscation, vagueness, agony and shit. Thereby the position taken is logically tenable given the human disposition, a disposition know to us all or should be, dint of our being human. :))

I certainly did notice the word " arguably ", but people didn't write your post ,, so would you make that argument , that the team containing Suarez etc was the best team in the league?

After a few minutes thought, here is my 11 :hooray:

Pickford

TAA Gomez Stones Maitland-Niles

Loftus-Cheek Oxford Hughes

Gray Solanke Sancho

Probably give the relegation candidates a close run.

Klopp is developing all the players at the club, he's a world renowned coach...for a reason.
If he's not improving the players, then he's not doing his job.

All the players have improved,, the evidence ... higher league finish.

Robbo is not English. My point was rather developing young players. Not sure what making up an English team and predicting their success is all about. I could do the same 3 or 4 times over with some of liverpools senior players in the past 25 years. Most of them, certainly not English.

I care less where young talent comes from. The key being talent. I think you generalize too easily about how poor the standard is in Britain/England. I have seen an awful lot of young foreign shyte playing for Liverpool by comparison.

We just bought a fine left back for a snip. Gomez will be excellent. Plenty of good examples of clubs who have promoted young British players. The truth is, our club was too busy scouring overseas rubbish to see them in our own back yard. Dele Ali anyone? From under our noses, players like Barclay and Rooney. Coleman?

Too simplistic to suggest no good talent in England. What is simpler to suggest is nobody looking has been good enough to spot the right talent. Perhaps shopping in the wrong country to begin with.

As would a similar team of Spanish, German French, born youngsters. What is your point?

Developing 3 or more at Liverpool, a much different prospect, and a benefit to our club IMHO.

England are easily in the top 10, if not 5, footballing nations of the world. An easy target because they do shit when it counts, but the fact remains.

I will remind everyone, that our talentless nation just won world cups at u17 an u20 levels. Solanke one of the stars. Plenty of talent in Britain.

The fact remains that the two most successful teams in all of British football, did so on the backs of managers who sort value in both developing young talent, and buying judiciously in the world transfer market.

Man city in comparison with either side (as well as chelsea for that matter) can't compare. This is not to suggest they cannot, but so far, they are not even close to as great.

Someone get out Dickie's crystal ball. Tell me how many European Cups City will win. Only 5 to go. They made a final yet?

They need at least 14 years to match our league record.

Oddly recall posting something very similar about United in 1995. Clearly not on Kop This.
