Ground capacity, fan base..newcastle can say the same.. One league cup in ten years is not the sign of a big team. Regulary drawing or getting beat by lower teams like wba swansea burnley etc suggests lfc are just hanging on to the coat tails of history. atm imo lfc are just front runners of the also rans...not a top team. |

A top six team these days is about our limit. We can't seem to attract the big players anymore but is that due to the club and FSG not wanting to spend money ? We are living on our history. |

Top 6? That's irony for you - the number 6. what do you reckon SixNil? The team that you claimed would beat us 6-0 with 500 million worth of players came and sat on a Crosville bus parked at or near the fucking Annie Road end. What an exhibition they put on for us. You can stick your fucking money if your going to give me that shambles. Big spending has helped them no end,. |

Only in the sense that it is the team we all love. We are a big team in terms of our fan base (at home and abroad), our history, our stadium and our commercial revenue. We are not a big team when it comes to winning trophies, competing for the best players, match day and television revenue, retaining our best players, our net spend our owners and generally how we run at boardroom level. To all intents and purposes we aren't a big side. Any player who is 28 and younger has not lived to see LFC lift a league trophy and that's the sad truth of the matter. Our first step towards changing all of this is to stop pretending otherwise. Edited by stevieg4ever, Jan 30 2018, 10:48 AM.

We are a big team but not the biggest and we do diminish year on year. We are, however, possibly the biggest team in the world in terms of remaining 'big' without actually winning Trophies, most especially the League Title. If the trophy drought does continue the consequence is we must continue to diminish that is inevitable. |

We're just about a top 4 club. Last trophy one by Dalglish. Financially, we're top 10 in Europe still I think....? |

Liverpool Football Club is the biggest of all where it counts. In my heart. This is a lifetime commitment for me. I am stricken by each disappointment and enervated by each success. It's personal, like a human relationship; a wife or partner, a son or daughter. You take the rough with the smooth and give it your all. The journey is everything, not the stops along the way. Learn to love your club instead of picking it apart time after time. |

yeh i loved south liverpool fc too..now look at them through ineptnes... ineptnes..that is what i dislike...so long as lfc remains in anfield or any part of liverpool it is in my heart always.. move to somewhere like warrington and it is no longer lfc.. lfc is part of liverpool..as scousers we have the right to tell owners and manager/ players to fuck off if they are no good they are fucking not just with lfc but liverpool the city. some may understand that. |

Christian Purslow? The guy who lied to Torres and directly contributed to him leaving. The guy who thought he could play Football Manager and ended up giving us Roy Hodgson. Fuck him and his opinion. |

Against City we looked a big team, last two games not so much, the inconsistency unless stemmed will keep us in the also rans, it is unbelievable how the team's standards can fluctuate so much |

There is a simple logic to this - is say Rochdale a big team even though they are in a NW soccer hotbed? No? Have they ever been a big team? No? Well that's because they have never won things. Big teams are Big teams because they win things, the more they win the bigger they become. We are not winning things now so we diminish, it's the law of footy Bigness

What's the answer or what's the cause ?? Do they think playing the likes of Swansea is beneath them so they don't bother to turn up ?

Man City, Swansea, etc. etc. are one off matches winning them or even many of 'em doesn't make you a big team, its winning trophies that makes you a big team. The more you win the bigger you become. |

We're not big.. we act like fucking paupers and we've won 1 trophy in 10 years.. We however are a money making , revenue generating club and FSG are rubbing their hands at glee at the thought of what Real Madrid will pay for Salah either 2018 summer or 2019 summer |

Your record was 2 match threads, 2 wins.. hardly the stuff of legend is it? even Alan Pardew has won 2 games in his time at WEST BROM FFS Apple... doing well mate.. took some time off and tbh was actually so pissed off at the Coutinho transfer, I couldn't bear to read anything about Liverpool (I did watch the games, yup we like to subject ourselves to punishment don't we).Cant believe we sold one of our best players with so much to play for in the remaining games this season. The mind truly boggles ... and the even more disgusting fact is that no one is probably going to come in to replace him. We're a fucking shambles , but as long as the money keeps rolling in.. that's all that matters to fking FSG isn't it? |

But you didn't really mean " enervated " by every success, Cam: look the word up in any good dictionary- or a crap one for that matter... Actually, regarding The Machine's angle on our international standing, I think that we are probably regarded abroad ( still ) as more of a 'big' team/club than we are here at home... |

Surely FSG must realise though. The bigger investment on the pitch and we start winning things the value of Liverpool will grow ten fold as will their pockets. But I imagine they are happy for such little outlay on their part the value of the club has risen. |

I do believe you have it right. I think the word I was looking for was 'exhilarated', but the brain's micro-currents got crossed. I think your observation on our international standing is a good one, too. |
